Pastor Davies gestured slightly toward the twins. "And let us acknowledge these young witnesses, Jasmine and Hanith, who carry not only your love but the symbols of your union, the rings, the petals, the joy of family."
Hanith's chest swelled with pride at the mention of him by name, and I couldn't help but grin. The tiny boy was serious, trying to hold the weight of the rings with the dignity he thought was required, and in that moment, I felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude, not just for the day, but for all of us, together.
Pastor Davies then looked back at us, his expression calm, and began the words that would bind our lives in that sacred way. "Aaron, do you take Katherine to be your lawfully wedded wife, to love her, to honor her, to stand by her through joy and sorrow, in sickness and in health, for as long as you both shall live?"
