"Kill… Seira?"
Aldrian never imagined for a moment that the choice would fall to him.
He loved Seira deeply. How could he possibly bring himself to do that?
But if he didn't, he would die. The thought of dying and being forgotten by everyone sent a chill down his spine—especially since he was supposed to do great things in the future.
Still, he couldn't bring himself to act. With a pale, panicked face, he stammered, "C-Can you change the terms? I… I just can't do that to Seira!"
Unfortunately, the man shook his head and refused.
"That's your only chance. If you don't want it, fine—but be prepared to leave this world. Besides, the payment I'm getting is substantial. There's no way I'd turn it down just for the sake of morality," the man replied, his tone playful.
Cold sweat ran down Aldrian's forehead and neck. He wanted to keep begging, but he knew it was useless.
The suffocating weight of being trapped between love and survival made it hard to breathe.
