All she wanted was to turn Zane's room into absolute chaos and force him into an unimaginable reaction.
She kept going for a while, completely absorbed in her petty mission, until a voice edged with confusion sliced through the air behind her.
"What are you doing to my room?"
Selina froze. Her heart skipped violently, her loose hair spilling over her face like a ghost.
He is here. Zane.
Too bad. He wasn't supposed to be back yet.
How was she supposed to escape this without making him suspicious when he had caught her red-handed? Her face scrunched as her mind scrambled for calculated words.
Slowly, Selina turned around, her face still half-hidden behind her long curls.
"There… there's a mouse in your room!" she said in a small voice, pointing toward his bed.
"Mouse," he repeated, scanning the room in search of it. "I made sure the room was cleaned properly. There wasn't any hole in the corner of the house or the room to give it leverage to enter. So how did it get inside?"
