Chapter 914 - Chapter 8: In-Laws

They woke up fully invigorated. Harry enjoyed looking at his two naked wives and then exercising baby-making with them. They all enjoyed it so much that they missed breakfast in the great hall and had to ask a house elf to bring them breakfast in their apartment.

While eating, Harry's mind drifted to what they needed to do. One item stood high above the others. "Hermione, don't we need to tell your parents about our marriage?"

The question seemed to destroy Hermione's good mood. "I'm not sure. I mean… They certainly can't understand magical bonds, and they would surely disapprove of what I did to get it… Yet… Well, I don't think I should keep it a secret either."

"Have you told them about Luna becoming my wife?"

Hermione needed to recall some memories. "I think I did. That may only make it more difficult. Why should I even contemplate sex with a married man? My parents wouldn't like it at all."

"Not even if I say I invited you to join us?" Luna asked.

Hermione sighed. "As much as I like being married to Harry, my parents may see both our marriages as only teen lust. In a way, they would be right. I mean — you didn't have to shag him during the Yule Ball, and I certainly didn't have to do it the previous night, yet we both did it, resulting in our marriages."

"It was Magic that directed us to do it," Luna told her. "Due to my visions, I knew I would end up married to Harry, but I didn't know when it would happen. Then, the more time I spent with him, the more I wanted to become his. I doubt I could refrain even for a full week, had I not done it at the Yule. I believe it is the same with you, although you didn't have the benefit of the vision. Instead, you had me pushing in that direction, mainly due to my visions."

"Mainly?" Hermione asked.

"Well, I was also curious to see how it would go, or I would have waited a bit longer. Maybe."

Hermione sighed again. "Well, I believe the most honorable way would be to visit my parents and tell them in person, although it's the most embarrassing and frightening too."

"Don't your parents work on Saturdays?" Harry asked.

"Only half a day. They should be home by lunchtime."

"Then, I suppose we can go there after we finish lunch here," Harry said, sounding like he was planning his doom.

"Hey, they won't kill you, not even harm you, "Hermione told him.

"I'm not sure. Your father…"

"…will frown and ask difficult questions, but he will accept the fact. He has no alternative, really, and he still loves me, as does my mother. They'll just have to accept you and Luna as extensions to their family."

"Their family?" he questioned.

Hermione smiled. "Since we bonded, you and Luna are my closest family. My parents will always stay family, of course, but I have a new family that comes first."

That made Harry lose some of his apprehension.

–..–

They spent the morning catching up with their school work, not bothering with clothing. Then, as lunchtime approached, they got dressed in Muggle clothes, appropriate for the weather. Harry's wardrobe was still lacking, although he bought a few clothes along with the wetsuit. Hermione frowned when trying to help Harry find appropriate clothing. Luckily, his overcoat was new, as was a sweater, as the weather dictated. The rest would have to do.

They went early to the great hall and were among the first to finish lunch. They then took the Floo from their apartment to the Leakey Cauldron and a taxi from there to the Granger residence. Hermione only called their phone before mounting the taxi, so as not to make her visit too surprising.

"Mom, Dad, we're here!" she called as soon as she opened the door with her own key.

"We're in the kitchen, dear," her mother called back.

It only took seconds to reach there. Hermione went first and introduced them. "Mom, Dad, this is Harry Potter, my best friend since the first year. You've already seen him a few times, I believe. The girl with us is Luna. She's in the third year, but she's lately become a very close friend to both of us."

She then turned to the teens. "These are my parents, Jean and David Granger. Both are dentists. My dad prefers to be called Dave."

Jean hugged each of them warmly, although Hermione got a much longer hug, as expected. Dave kissed Hermione's cheek but only shook hands with the others.

Jean asked the expected question as soon as they finished the introductions. "What caused this visit? We didn't expect to see you before Easter, and you haven't informed us of any plan to come here."

Hermione smiled apologetically. "Indeed, it was quite unplanned. We only decided on it this morning." She took a deep breath to gather up her courage and continued talking. "You see, there were some important changes in my life lately, and we thought you should be informed of them."

Harry could see her parents frown at the 'we', but they stayed silent, letting her continue.

"I think I already told you about Harry and Luna getting magically wed, roughly two months ago. Now, due to some magical intervention, Harry and I were also magically married."

Hermione stopped talking. Harry was sure she was waiting for her parents to understand it and then… explode?

Jean seemed to recuperate first. She turned to Harry, though. "Let me see if I understand this correctly, Harry. You wed Luna before the New Year, and now wed Hermione too, making you married to both. Is that right?"

Harry tried to sound more confident than he felt. "Yes, that's how it happened."

She turned to Hermione. "Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't a magical wedding need consummation to be accepted?"

Hermione nodded.

"Then, how could you consummate your wedding with someone who was already married to another?"

Luna didn't let Hermione answer. "Mrs. Granger…"

"Jean, please…"

Luna smiled. "Jean, you should know that magical marriages are not exclusive, like most Muggle ones are. Depending on the exact type, one or both parties may wed additional partners. Magic may even require it in some cases, like I believe happened in our case."

Jean took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. "Care to explain?"

Luna smiled nervously. "You see, I have a kind of weird… talent, for lack of a better word. I can occasionally get glimpses of my future and of people I feel close to. Before the Yule, I had visions of Harry and me raising a family. I then acted to make that vision come true, resulting in our marriage. Now, it's quite possible that I would have married Harry anyhow, only later, had I not acted so promptly. This seems to have changed the most probable future."

Dave, who was also listening attentively, had to ask, "What do you mean by most probable? Don't you know the future?"

Luna shook her head, slightly bemused. "The future is not set in stone. What people do can change the probable future quite drastically. For example, even if it's most probable that one sports team would beat another, a key player who acts irresponsibly and gets hurt just before the game may turn the results the other way. I think you could compare this to the Muggle statistics. Some general trends can be deducted, but individuals may cause minor or major changes that are unpredictable."

Dave nodded understandingly and waved at her to continue.

Luna smiled and continued speaking. "It looks like our early marriage made such an unpredictable change. While before the Yule, I could only see Hermione with others, it changed after the Yule. I could see that to achieve the best future for us all, Hermione needed to also wed Harry. When we talked, I could see in her eyes how much she longed to be in my position, so I suggested that she join us. I didn't know if it would also make her immediately married, but I wasn't surprised it did."

Her words sounded clear, but their meaning just didn't make sense to the adults. They needed to think this over for a few minutes to finally understand.

"So, let me see if I understand it right, Luna. You invited Hermione to join you. I believe you meant to join all your private activities. Is that so?" Jean asked

Luna only nodded with an encouraging smile.

Jean went on. "Then, when Hermione joined you, she did what is considered consummation…"

"They both did. One is not enough, I'm sure you know," Luna interjected. Jean just waved it away.

"…and that resulted in their marriage, while you were also present. Right?"

"Yes. As soon as they started kissing, they became oblivious to the world. I had to use my wand to dry them, since it all started in the shower. It was still very beautiful to watch, and very enticing too. I needed Harry badly as soon as they finished."

Dave grimaced. Jean didn't seem too happy either. "Well, at least it was all with full consent of the three of you, although I still find it difficult to comprehend. Are you all happy?"

Three smiling nods were the reply.

It took quite a bit more explanation and some reassurance before the Granger couple fully accepted the new situation, even if quite reluctantly. There was no way back, anyway, as the teens made sure to explain, so they didn't have any true alternative.

The teens also stayed for dinner, just to let the adults see how happy and comfortable they felt in this new situation. They then returned to Hogwarts the same way as they left it, arriving only minutes before curfew.

–..–

With his binds removed and with Ron taking a step back since Harry's marriage, Harry found he was doing much better in classes. He had no problem understanding even the most difficult lessons, with only Hermione understanding quicker than he did. His casting in Charms and Transfiguration was second to none, showing great power and control. He still needed to concentrate better in Transfiguration, but that was expected. After all, he needed to change his habit to stay not much better than Ron (or Dudley, earlier in life), and paying better attention to details couldn't be achieved overnight.

Ron, as expected, didn't enjoy the fact that Harry was doing much better than he was, almost as well as Hermione, or even surpassing her, on occasion. "You're barely ever spending any time with me," he complained.

"I always invite you to join us when studying, but you refuse," Harry pointed out.

"You know I can barely tolerate studies," Ron whined.

"Too bad. I need to learn as much as I can for the third task, and you already know this. My life may depend on it. Besides, now that I have gained my Lordship, I can no longer act as an irresponsible child. The position forces me to act more responsibly and more mature, if possible."

"But there's no fun in that!"

Harry sighed. "Ron, life is not only about fun, you should know. If you keep neglecting your duties for fun, you may end up in a very bad position. I wish I could help you, but you need to help yourself first and start studying in earnest, or nobody will be able to help you."

Ron only grimaced at that.

"Why do you even bother?" Hermione asked him after Ron left them.

Harry sighed. "I know he's not stupid. Neither Ginny nor his brothers are. Each is quite successful in their own ways, but if he keeps ignoring his duties, he may end up no better than Crabbe or Goyle, who seem to only share a single mind cell between them."

Hermione chuckled at the reference before turning more serious. "I really fail to understand why he turned out so different. Even the twins, despite their joking, are quite serious about their studies. They even study a lot of extracurricular material for their pranks, I'm sure."

Harry shrugged regretfully. "Well, it's his life and his choices. It's not our responsibility. I'm glad he no longer keeps me back, but I wish I could change his mind a bit."

Luna, who was also nearby, added, "You may not be able to change his mind, but maybe a girl could? I'll try to see if any of the ones we know may turn good for him."

Harry smiled. "I know it's not exactly under your control, but I'll be very happy if you find a way to help him, even if it means setting him up with a girl."

Hermione chuckled. "Are you sure he'll know what to do if one shows interest in him?"

Harry smiled back. "Whoever she may turn out to be, I think she'll enjoy teaching him. Don't you agree?"

Her smile widened. "Someone like Lavender? Sure! But not someone like Padma or Daphne. They'll hex him if he misbehaves, as he's sure to do."

Harry could only nod in agreement.
