Several days had passed. Issei simply trained, Kaito spent time with the girls, and the world continued moving along normally.
Definitely the best vacation Kaito had had in a long time.

Kaito and Koneko had spent the night at his house, since it was the weekend, and they were returning to school in the morning.

"I don't know when Asia will appear, to be honest. Until she appears, we can't attack the abandoned church, since we don't know what will happen to her afterward"
"I remember Asia arrived not long after Issei joined us" Koneko said, remembering the first time she had seen Asia.

"It was you. You're the one responsible... sniff... Why did you die? Are you stupid?"
"M-me? But I'm alive?" she asked in confusion.
"But you died last time"
"N-no. I escaped, remember? I've even been a wanted fugitive for the past few years because of... because of what I did"
"It's fine. I know why you did that, so I don't care" Koneko said. "Besides, I'm not talking about that time"
"You know?! How do you know? Who told you?"
"I found out from Rias after she begged her brother, and I confirmed it with the Old Devil Nobles before killing them all"
Kuroka separated Koneko for a moment and spoke.
"Shirone, the Old Devil Nobles are more powerful than you and they're still alive. You're saying so many strange things, and I think you've gone crazy, but... I'm so happy!" After saying that, she simply hugged her affectionately again.
Even if her sister seemed to have suddenly gone crazy, that could be dealt with later. The only thing that mattered was that her sister had forgiven her and they could be together again from now on.

"Kaito, I'm sorry. She's not usually this much of a pervert" Koneko apologized, ignoring her sister. "I think she's just so happy that she's not thinking straight"
"Eh? Shirone, how cruel!" Kuroka said, pretending to be offended before becoming serious.
"Ah, to think that one day I'd be this close to Shirone again and joke around with her.
I really still don't understand it all, and half of the story sounds so crazy that I don't even know whether to believe it, but as long as I can be with Shirone, it's worth it"
"...Sister... sniff... don't say things like that"
"Aaaah, I'm sorry. Did I bring back bad memories? Don't think about it. I'm here, and I'm the real me" Seeing that Koneko was about to cry again, Kuroka apologized and tried to change the subject. "You have to go study, right? Go quickly or you'll be late. I'll wait for you somewhere, I promise"

Just as they were about to move, Koneko felt a tug and looked toward the ground, where she found a small black-furred cat.
"Weren't you going to the base?"
"Meow"
"Do you want to come with me to school?"

Kuroka meowed before jumping onto Koneko's shoulder and rubbing herself against her again.
"Hehe" Koneko smiled as well when she felt her.
Seeing her sister and interacting with her like this was something she never could have imagined before.
Whether during her childhood, when she hated her sister and only saw her occasionally without knowing the truth, or later, when she wanted to see her but had no way of doing so, Koneko had never imagined this situation.
Her gaze shifted toward the person walking beside her, and she leaned over until her lips touched his cheek.
