Chapter 268 - Chapter 266

"You know, this isn't what you promised we'd be doing tonight" Kuroka complained as she entered the territory of the abandoned church.

During the day, Kaito and Koneko had already confirmed that Asia had arrived in Kuoh and was staying in the abandoned church.

It wasn't very difficult, it was enough to see Issei's usually cheerful attitude subdued as he kept looking at Rias as if he wanted to say something but didn't dare to.

When they asked what had happened, Rias told them that Issei had met a nun and ordered him not to have any more contact with her because the demonic side and the holy side, despite both belonging to the Biblical faction, did not get along with each other.

Finally, no longer having to wait, the group headed that very night to the abandoned church where she was staying.

The reason for going there was not only to recruit Asia, since although her Twilight Healing was useful it was not that useful, but also to obtain the Fallen Angels' method for extracting Sacred Gears.

Besides Kuroka, who would not stop complaining, only Kaito, Chika, and Bocchi had gone. The Fallen Angels were quite weak so there was no need to bring too many people.

Kaito himself shouldn't even have been necessary, but he wanted to make sure everything went well.

"Oh, what is this? We have guests?" As soon as they entered the area around the abandoned church they were noticed, and a renegade church exorcist came out to greet them politely.

With short silver hair, dressed in a white robe, carrying a gun in one hand and a Holy Sword in the other, finishing it all off with an arrogant smile as he looked at them with disdain, he was the typical image of a generic renegade exorcist.

"Eh? A mere middle-class exorcist dares to..."

"Kuroka, not your turn"

The moment she saw the exorcist, Kuroka became angry, wanting to tear him apart for his disrespectful attitude, but Kaito raised a hand and stopped her.

Instead, he looked at Bocchi.

"Come on Bocchi, you can do it" Chika whispered beside her.

"Y-yes" Bocchi nodded determinedly and extended her hands toward the exorcist. Chaos magic gathered in her palms before flying toward her enemy.

"What is this energy?"

The exorcist jumped backward, dodging the attack, but the magic followed him at incredible speed, eventually catching up to him and enveloping his body.

The moment it reached him, the exorcist's body became motionless while his eyes turned white and he entered a trance. He was trapped in an illusion within his own mind.

"I-I did it?" Bocchi murmured.

"You did it!" Chika said proudly while hugging her.

But while doing so she noticed Bocchi furrowing her brows tightly.

"What's wrong?"

"I-I can't destroy his mind like you said"

"It's fine, Kuroka, take care of it"

"Okaaay" Kuroka nodded cheerfully and moved.

The next instant she was already standing in front of the exorcist with her fist extended while his head had been shattered into tiny pieces.

"Done" Kuroka nodded casually as she wiped the blood off her fist.

"I'm sorry" Bocchi apologized.

"It's fine, that wasn't a normal exorcist" Kaito reassured her. "And besides, this was the plan from the beginning"

Although today's trip was basically about letting Bocchi test her powers, Kaito wasn't angry that she hadn't managed to do it properly. After all, that exorcist wasn't just anyone, he was a named character in the plot, while Bocchi had only spent four days learning to control her magic.

And situations like this were exactly why Kuroka had come along anyway.

After that, several more exorcists appeared along the way, but they were weaker than Freed, the previous one, so Bocchi was able to handle them.

Their bodies became trapped in illusions that killed them, and their real bodies reacted as if the illusions were real, leading them to die from shock.

As they advanced, Kaito had to admit that as a team under Kokabiel's command, one of the Fallen Angels' second-in-command after Azazel, they had plenty of resources. Nearly a hundred exorcists appeared during the few minutes it took them to enter the church.

They kept coming out of the church over and over again, all carrying weapons and swords that could be considered powerful for an ordinary exorcist.

Kaito even wondered how so many people fit inside such a small building. But eventually they ran out, and the group reached the church doors.

Boom!

With a kick from Kuroka, the church's old yet imposing wooden doors were blown away and crashed into the opposite wall.

"Seriously? Unknown enemies and you couldn't even deal with a single one of them? As expected of humans, you're all useless"

Inside the church there were five people in total.

The one who had just spoken was Raynare, a beautiful woman with black hair and an elegant figure whose arrogant smile made it clear how much she despised those around her.

A woman with long blue hair and a cold gaze who simply observed the situation calmly as if she had nothing to do with it, Kalawarner.

A blonde girl with a youthful appearance and twin tails who maintained a playful and mocking expression, Mittelt.

A tall, heavily built man whose stern face and hostile gaze made him look ready to kill at any moment, Dohnaseek.

And finally, a young woman with long blonde hair and green eyes that conveyed a kindness completely out of place among such a group. Her concern and fear were evident on her face, making her seem as though this was the first time she had ever found herself in such a situation, Asia Argento.

Raynare looked at everyone with disdain before stopping specifically on Kuroka, her eyes widening with surprise and caution.

"Kuroka, S-rank fugitive. May I know your intentions in attacking Grigori? Under Lord Azazel's command. He isn't someone you can afford to provoke"

"Pfft, Azazel?" Kuroka mocked. "You're under Kokabiel's command, that's not the same thing, especially considering his rebellion plans"

"Rebellion? What are you..."

"Ah, ah, you talk too much" Kuroka interrupted without any intention of listening. "We came for two things, that girl over there and the method for removing Sacred Gears. Tell us and we'll leave. Otherwise you die. Your choice"

Kuroka spoke while pointing at Asia, who immediately tensed in fear upon hearing those words and instinctively stepped back.

"M-me? Why?"

"That's quite the shameless request. How about we just kill all of you and make sure nobody leaves here alive?" Raynare replied fearlessly.

Kuroka raised an eyebrow, unsure whether Raynare was simply stupid or pretending. "And you think you can?"

"If you had come alone, maybe not. But do you really think you can protect all that baggage behind you while fighting?"

"Of course" Kuroka said indifferently. The difference between middle class and ultimate class was just that great.

"Kughhh!"

"Kughhh!"

Raynare frowned because she knew Kuroka really could do it. While still thinking of a way out of the situation, she heard two painful groans and turned around.

There she found Dohnaseek and Kalawarner collapsing to the ground dead, with holes in their chests.

She looked behind Kuroka in fear.

"They were preparing surprise attacks, so I killed them" Kaito shrugged.

He hadn't been completely wasting his time these last few days either. He had found some fugitive devils and improved his abilities.

Now he could finally perform the last thing he needed to complete his 'telekinesis', extracting parts of someone's body.

Whether it was something a person possessed, something inside their body, or even parts of their own body, Kaito could now move them naturally at will.

And because it wasn't really telekinesis but part of his control over Motion, it was absolute. It didn't matter if the enemy was stronger than Kaito or had an absolute connection to whatever he was trying to move, Kaito could remove or move it at will.

The only weakness of such a move was that Kaito had to think about what he wanted to move, so if the enemy had an extremely strange biology or Kaito didn't know where their vital organs were, it wouldn't be so easy. There were also enemies who could survive even after having their hearts torn out.

But the Fallen Angels before them clearly weren't like that. The moment Kaito tore out their hearts, both of them dropped dead instantly, their faces still frozen in shock.

"H-how?" Raynare stared at her companions' corpses, unable to hide her fear.

"Motion control. It's like telekinesis but cooler. Want to try it?" Kaito said while pointing a finger at her.

"Hiii!" Raynare jumped backward in fear, covering her chest as if that would protect her.

Conceptual beings also existed in the world of DxD. In fact, the two strongest known beings in this world were conceptual beings, so Raynare was not unfamiliar with the concept. When Kaito removed her companions' hearts, she felt the impossibility of resisting it, so even though she had never seen a conceptual attack before, that was what she immediately associated it with.

"W-what kind of monster are you?"

"What do you think of my new boss? Isn't he handsome?" Kuroka smiled proudly. "How about giving us what we came for?"

"...Fine, but what do you mean about a rebellion? Aren't we following Azazel's orders?" Raynare asked, immediately deciding to surrender. After all, nothing was more important than staying alive. She didn't even care about her companions' deaths.

"No. Kokabiel wants to start a war between the three factions of the Biblical faction again, so he doesn't mind using extremely drastic methods. Azazel would never allow attacks on humans without shame inside territory controlled by two noble devil families. Two that are related to Maous, no less"

"...But how do you know that?"

"No idea. My new boss told me" Kuroka answered honestly.

"I simply know. Just tell us how to do it already" Kaito didn't give her a real answer either.

"...I don't know" Raynare forced herself to swallow her anger at the answer that clearly didn't take her seriously and told the truth. "Lord Kokabiel gave us sheets with the ritual already prepared. We only have to infuse them with magical power and it manifests.

We have some here if you want to investigate them"

Kuroka looked at Kaito and immediately realized he was thinking the same thing she was.

"Not necessary"

"Eh?" Raynare let out her confusion before realizing what he meant.

"We know nothing about that, and it would probably take a long time to analyze it. Better to just go ask Kokabiel directly" Kaito said.

"D-directly to Kokabiel? Are you..."
