Chapter 155 - Chapter 154: Pietro

Charles was led by Hank to somewhere with a Cerebro.

Kakashi and the Avengers watched them go. The two men disappeared down the corridor.

Tony, always curious, broke the silence. He looked at Ororo, who stood nearby with her arms crossed. "So what's a Cerebro if you don't mind me asking?"

Ororo turned to him and answered, "Professor is one of the strongest telepathic mutants in the world. Hank had made a machine for him. A machine that made his ability even more powerful."

She took a breath before continuing. "Cerebro is a machine used by Professor to amplify his telepathic ability in order to observe all the mutants and humans throughout the world. In turn, Cerebro can also be used to locate any individual as well."

Banner's eyes widened. "Anyone in… the world?"

Ororo nodded. "Yes. He can see every mind. In fact, ge can read every person's thoughts.'

Kakashi thought, 'Hmm. It sounds like Charles' telepathic ability gives him some kind of sensory range which he uses to sense other people's minds. This machine enhances it to almost the entire world. It is quite a powerful ability. I wonder if he can control minds as well as read them. If he can find anyone anywhere, that changes many things. A shinobi village would kill for a tool like that. It would make tracking enemies impossible to hide from. It would make ambushes almost useless. It would make espionage a nightmare for anyone trying to stay hidden. And more than that, if he could control even a few people at the time, the amount of chaos that he would be able to cause would be unimaginable.'

For the first time, Kakashi realised how strong Charles ability was.

Kakashi asked, "Professor said that this Erik knows him and has found ways to escape detection. So how is he going to find him?"

Hank walked back into the room and heard the question. He answered before Ororo could. "It is simple. Professor will find all the places where it returns empty feedback to him. It will narrow the number of locations. We will scout out those places to find Erik and the Brotherhood's exact location."

Kakashi said, "I see."

The group was then taken on a tour of the mansion. Kakashi and the other Avengers saw some very unique abilities among the different mutant kids.

One boy levitated several books at once while laughing with his friends. A girl with green skin made flowers grow instantly from the soil in the indoor garden.

Another child phased through the floor to retrieve a ball that had rolled underneath a couch. A young girl created small illusions of butterflies that flew around her head.

A boy with scales on his arms changed color to match the wall behind him.

Cap went on to chat with Logan. The two men stood a little apart from the group.

Logan spoke first. "You feel familiar. Like someone I should know."

Cap shook his head. "I am afraid not."

Logan grunted. "Maybe. Maybe not. I have lost a lot of my memories from my old life. Maybe you remind me of someone during that time.'

Cap nodded. "I understand. I lost seventy years myself. Woke up to a world that had moved on without me. Friends gone. Family gone. Everything was different."

Logan looked at him for a long moment. "Sounds rough."

Cap gave a small smile. "It was. Still is sometimes."

The two men stood in silence for a while. They did not need many words. They recognized something in each other. The weight of time. The weight of loss.

Meanwhile Kakashi looked at the different Mutant children and observed their abilities and thought, 'If they are groomed properly and trained, these children can become quite a force out there.'

Their tour ended as they heard a shout from the garden.

"The great Pietro is back!"

Kakashi and the other Avengers looked at the garden. They saw a young man of about twenty-five years old with silver hair. He stood in the center of the lawn. He had a wide grin on his face. He waved at the kids who had come out to greet him.

Tony chuckled a little. "I thought that the only silver-haired guy that I would see would be Kakashi. But I guess I was wrong. There are more freaks out there. Is there a new silver hair dye that I do not know about?"

Kakashi muttered, "It is natural."

Ororo, who was giving them the tour, said, "He is Pietro. You can call him a part-time member of the X-Men. He sometimes hops around to other places. He says that he has a family out there that he cares about a lot. So he is normally not here. He is also quite strong. Though he has quite some bad habits like watching and reading adult content."

Ororo said the last part with a little embarrassment. Her cheeks turned slightly pink.

Kakashi asked, "Is that so?"

Tony laughed. "It looks like we found your brother from another mother, Kakashi. You both are quite similar."

Before Kakashi could respond, a voice came from behind him.

"Nah, I am way cooler than him and faster."

Kakashi felt the air shift. Before he could even blink, the man was behind him. Kakashi had sweat dripping from his neck.

'He is fast. Very fast. Faster than Raikage. Could I have tracked him with my Sharingan? Likely not. I would still have seen a blur even if I used it.'

Kakashi turned slowly. Pietro stood there with a cocky grin. His silver hair caught the light. He bounced lightly on his feet. He looked like someone who could never stay still.

"You can call me Quicksilver," Pietro said. "I heard there was a fight and I missed it. The kids say that you are strong and a ninja. They say while they do not like you for hurting the professor, you are way cooler than me. And I am here to challenge you to prove they are wrong."

Kakashi looked at him funny. Ororo rubbed her temples. She looked like she had heard this kind of thing before.
