Sophie turned her little head to look at Charles Seymour, her eyes filled with affection for her father.
"Mom is always preparing food for you. If she eats later, it will get cold. At your age, you need to be sensible, understand?" As Charles Seymour scolded Sophie, everyone at the table froze and looked at Charles.
Yet, as the focal point for everyone, Charles was completely unaware, and continued speaking on his own: "You need to care for Mom, understand?"
"Mm." Sophie was indeed obedient and nodded earnestly.
Charles nodded with satisfaction, feeding the peeled shrimp into Sophie's mouth, then placed another into her small bowl: "Learn to peel it yourself."
"Okay." Sophie obediently followed the instructions, realizing a spoon wouldn't work, and as she hesitated, she heard Charles say, "Use your hands, you can wipe them later."
Sophie was truly obedient, using her small hands to slowly peel the shrimp.
