"I am also part of that system," Jerry Taylor said with a smile.
His meaning was clear, that he was also a member of the confidential system, and knowing some news was normal.
"Chairman Cole surely knows too, but as family, I'm more concerned about you all, and I just want to remind you." Jerry's reasoning was certainly valid, but such talk might fool others; Charles Seymour was not buying it.
Of course, Charles did not argue with Jerry but looked at him as usual.
Charles's profound gaze seemed to see through everything; if it were someone other than Jerry, they might already feel uncomfortable avoiding his eyes.
"I also researched that illegal company back then. When I was outside, I would engage with all sorts of things," Jerry said, "You don't have to think about what I did; whatever it was is past, right now I'm just a technically skilled individual in the open."
