UK:GSW Chapter 452 – The Revived of World No. 2, Tobirama Senju's Trust in Himself

By the time Uchiha Madara was ready for everything, three days had passed since the last meeting.

Meanwhile, over in World No. 2, things had not been idle either.

World No. 2's Orochimaru, along with a team, went to retrieve the souls of the past Hokage from within the Shinigami's stomach, just as in the original story.

This operation involved not only people from the main world but also members from World No. 2. It was an agreed-upon collaboration—an opportunity to strengthen World No. 2. The revived past Hokage and other powerful shinobi would, for the most part, remain as part of World No. 2's forces.

These were all exceptional individuals, but most weren't like Orochimaru—research-focused. For the main world's Konoha, they weren't of much direct value, as they already had similar or stronger versions.

As for research-oriented figures like Tobirama Senju, they would be placed in roles that suited them—and Konoha of World No. 2 had no objection.

In fact, this division of roles had been agreed upon long before the mass revival began.

This was an operation of mutual benefit, so most matters could be handled smoothly.

What's that—wouldn't letting World No. 2's Orochimaru handle retrieving the souls and performing Impure World Reincarnation give him a chance to cause trouble?

Well… is it not possible that, if he were simply released and left to his own devices, this Orochimaru wouldn't even want to leave—and might instead feel deeply hurt and angry at being "abandoned"?

The main world's research environment was simply too good. So good, in fact, that even if World No. 2's Orochimaru had been dragged into it as a research workhorse, he quickly fell in love with it.

Though he didn't have clearance to enter the genjutsu world itself, he could still study systematically using the learning scrolls.

In this learning environment—far beyond anything in the shinobi world and perhaps even the Earth itself—this rogue-nin sank into the ocean of knowledge, unable to extricate himself, happily drowning in it.

Months later, his mind and heart had been completely conquered. He willingly became a research workhorse and happily accepted any task assigned to him.

After all, a task meant he was useful—and meant he could remain in this academic paradise.

And the "pseudo" goal of immortality? Already achieved.

Just like in the original story, by taking over a White Zetsu's body, Orochimaru had obtained a truly eternal vessel—achieving in one step what he had pursued for the first half of his life.

Now, with that accomplished and infinite knowledge still to pursue, he had found paradise within paradise—a place he wouldn't leave for anything.

In fact, he was reluctant to even do this mission.

Not because it would harm him—he simply didn't want to leave the research lab.

This assignment meant being away from his beloved lab for a time, which annoyed him greatly. He would have preferred to finish the task in a single day.

Unfortunately, that was wishful thinking. Even pushing his speed to the limit, it still took three full days to gather all the "mission items," rescue the Hokage souls from the Shinigami's stomach, and then use rebellious White Zetsu as sacrifices for the Impure World Reincarnation.

This included the past Hokage, World No. 2's Kushina Uzumaki, Sakumo Hatake, and others—key figures for World No. 2's Konoha.

Since Madara's use of the Samsara of Heavenly Life Technique would be collective in nature, all these cases would be resolved in one go.

Of course, there was a revival limit—and even if there wasn't, one would be imposed. Bringing back the dead had too great an impact; even if the cost could be borne, it couldn't be done freely.

Only those who had died violently were considered. Those who had died of natural causes were excluded.

For example, World No. 2's Hiruzen Sarutobi was not to be revived.

Though this Third Hokage had done much for Konoha and led it to its peak, after the Nine Tails incident the village was plagued with troubles. While much of that was due to the damage from the Nine Tails, many poor decisions led to further problems.

As leader, one must bear the weight of the crown. Regardless of whether certain events were directly his will, since they happened, someone had to take responsibility. With Uchiha Itachi and Danzo Shimura already condemned, the Third Hokage would remain among the dead—that was the burden he would bear.

Everyone else, however, would be revived.

And so, before the eyes of both Konohas, just as in the original story, the Hokage's souls were freed from the Shinigami's stomach. Orochimaru quickly switched to another White Zetsu body.

The Impure World Reincarnation was completed—one by one, the dead returned in Edo Tensei form. Only Hiruzen's soul was sent on to the Pure Land.

The revived saw Orochimaru and the gathered shinobi from both worlds.

To the main world group, it was moving, but also distant—they were, after all, people of World No. 2.

To World No. 2's people, the reactions were far stronger.

Tsunade, the Fifth Hokage, rushed forward with emotion. Naruto ran to his parents. Kakashi approached his father. Sasuke met his parents' gaze with a complicated expression.

These reunions overflowed with emotion—grief, joy, relief—and clearly needed private space.

The others sensibly stepped back. The living would explain everything to the dead, and then all would travel to the main world for the final revival ritual.

Reunions brought varied reactions—confusion, comfort, joy, unease.

For example, Hashirama and Tobirama Senju of World No. 2 were happy for Tsunade, but Hashirama was also tense, fearing her gambling habits might lead her to pawn Konoha away—earning her anger and Tobirama's exasperation.

Sasuke, for his part, felt a wistful melancholy. He had given up everything in World No. 2, and while seeing his parents alive again touched him deeply, he wouldn't change his decision to stay in the main world. Whatever they chose, he would respect and support them.

Clearly, he had matured greatly in just a few months.

After all, he had been systematically studying in the learning space. Outwardly still seventeen, his mental age now exceeded twenty-five, his knowledge surpassing the sum of his first seventeen years.

In politics and human affairs, he now outstripped even the father he once idolized. With what he had learned, he saw Fugaku's choices during the clan crisis in a harsher light. Between surrender and resistance, Fugaku had chosen inaction—waiting passively for death, leading to the clan's total annihilation.

Danzo and Itachi bore most of the blame, but Fugaku's failure to act as leader was undeniable.

Still, that was past. Fugaku now bore no such burden, and the revival of the Uchiha clan in World No. 2 was uncertain. The main world's Uchiha had taken a very different path, and there was no need for World No. 2's to lean on them.

Kakashi's reunion with his father was quieter. This was their second meeting, and with changed circumstances, both simply looked at each other for a time before Kakashi said: "Father, there's much I want to tell you. But now isn't the time. Once you're truly revived, we'll go home and talk—about you, about me, and about Konoha's future."

Sakumo smiled faintly and nodded. "Alright."

Finally, there was Naruto and his parents.

At first, Minato and Kushina didn't recognize him—after all, they had died when he was still a baby. But blood ties and chakra resonance quickly revealed the truth.

Their reunion was deeply moving. For Naruto, it was his second time meeting his parents, but the emotion was no less real—because this time, it was truly them, not counterparts from another world.

For Minato and Kushina, seeing their son grown, strong, and wise was a joy tinged with sorrow—they could only imagine the hardships he must have endured to reach this point.

They had much to say and learn from each other, and Naruto was eager to share.

But all of these reunions were still incomplete—Edo Tensei bodies blurred the line between life and death. The next step was to cross that line completely, to restore flesh and blood.

Not everyone was eager. Hashirama of World No. 2 refused—he saw revival as breaking the natural cycle of life and death.

The main world's Hashirama had felt differently, being summoned as a Heroic Spirit and seeing Tsunade and even Madara alive again. He'd wanted to help his friend.

And, well, playing genjutsu games under the "Muzi" disguise had turned out to be ridiculously fun.

World No. 2's Hashirama, however, was conservative—possibly influenced by having been used in Edo Tensei against Hiruzen in the past.

This didn't trouble anyone—they had anticipated his stance and had plans for persuasion.

At this point, Tobirama would normally serve as his brother's "external brain" and offer advice.

Instead, Orochimaru handed him a small notebook, smiling slyly: "The other world's Second Hokage asked me to give you this. He said once you read it, you'll know what to do."

Tobirama frowned slightly, opened it, and saw handwriting identical to his—though slightly more delicate, as if written by a female version of himself.

His curiosity piqued, he read on—and found the notebook filled with academic questions perfectly tailored to his interests.

This was clearly a targeted strike—crafted by the main world's Tobirama, written while disguised as a white-haired, red-eyed girl. The size of the writing betrayed the disguise, but it was meant as bait.

And it worked.

After reading, Tobirama nodded in understanding, returned the notebook to Orochimaru, and stayed put—no longer inclined to advise his brother against revival.

The notebook's message was clear: "Don't worry. It's safe for your brother. Just come along."

While he didn't know all the details, seeing the two Konohas get along well and knowing it came from "himself" convinced Tobirama.

Because Tobirama believed—if it was Tobirama, he would never endanger Hashirama.
