UK:GSW Chapter 444 – Minato Namikaze, Channeling the Little Mustache
The group received a warm welcome from the Moon's Ōtsutsuki.
When you show nothing but kindness, others might think you're weak and easy to bully. But if you show kindness and the strength to flatten them with a single punch, you naturally gain friendship.
Right now, that was exactly how the Moon's Ōtsutsuki felt.
There was no doubt they were proud — and they had reason to be. They had genuinely preserved the legacy left behind by their ancestor.
Although the Branch and Main Houses had their ideological differences and interpreted Hamura Ōtsutsuki's teachings in different ways, they had still safeguarded a millennium of unbroken tradition and historical record.
And living far from the shinobi world, carrying Hamura's inherited power, they were in some sense like true Brahmins in a world without a caste system.
However, just like real Brahmins were shrewd, the Moon's Ōtsutsuki weren't just battle maniacs who only knew how to fight. Among them were zealots willing to sacrifice their whole clan to fulfill the ancestor's ideals, but they were not the kind to recklessly charge at someone who could easily destroy them all — especially when that someone had already shown goodwill.
The Main House, as the clan's managers, was a group of rational people.
So it was only natural that the Konoha group received the respect they deserved.
Soon, they were welcomed into the Moon's Ōtsutsuki hall, where a Japanese-style banquet had been prepared. Though hastily arranged, everything was in order. They also saw puppets operated by the Moon's Ōtsutsuki.
These stone-made puppets acted as attendants, handling tasks swiftly and skillfully, moving almost like living people.
This drew murmurs of admiration from the Konoha group — especially the researchers, whose curiosity and desire to study them were reignited.
Sasori, in particular, had his sharp gaze locked on the puppets, noting every detail. If this had been the Sasori from World No. 2, he would have dismantled one on the spot — in the Akatsuki, power was justice, and if you wanted something, you took it.
But here, he suppressed his desire, intending to wait for the negotiations. If they could acquire the technology directly from the Moon's Ōtsutsuki, there'd be no need for underhanded tricks. As a great scientist and master of mechanical engineering, Sasori had the patience and composure to wait.
The Konoha group took their seats, meeting both the Main House head and Branch House head, as well as several elders.
It was clear that the Main and Branch leaders were strong kage-level shinobi, at least not weaker than the Fourth Raikage. The remaining elders were also kage-level. This was the heritage of a pure-blooded Ōtsutsuki line.
In the past, if Konoha had faced such power, they would have been cautious, fearful of antagonizing them — their strength was enough to destroy the village.
Now, Minato Namikaze alone could handle everything.
With the Flying Thunder God Jutsu, the Nine-Tails' power, and his own formidable skill, Minato was a walking ultimate weapon. Anyone without sufficient power would be instantly overwhelmed.
If he wanted to wipe out the Moon's Ōtsutsuki here, he could replicate his "Golden Flash" battle from the original story, slaughtering Iwagakure's forces in an instant.
That's just how unreasonable a "mechanics-type monster" was.
Of course, Konoha had no intention of annihilating them. With goodwill reciprocated, there was now room for dialogue and negotiation.
The banquet began. After polite exchanges, the atmosphere warmed. Everyone was patient — no one showed restlessness.
Although the Moon's Ōtsutsuki cooking was average and the taste of the food unimpressive, no one showed it, maintaining proper etiquette.
This pleased the Moon's Ōtsutsuki — perhaps the people of the shinobi world weren't all savages after all.
The Main House head then steered the topic to Black Zetsu, wanting to know more about him.
Minato naturally obliged, smiling as he recounted Black Zetsu's deeds. The Moon's Ōtsutsuki listened intently, sometimes showing irritation and dislike toward Black Zetsu, sometimes revealing expressions of realization.
Though they'd been told in advance, hearing the details made everything clearer.
Black Zetsu's story opened their eyes. They now believed they understood why the shinobi world had been in chaos for a thousand years without peace — and they placed all the blame on Black Zetsu.
Minato knew this was an oversimplification. The shinobi world's lack of peace was caused by many factors; Black Zetsu merely pushed things along.
But he didn't say so. Sometimes a convenient truth served better than the full picture — especially when a goal needed to be reached.
Right now, all that mattered was making the Moon's Ōtsutsuki believe the chaos was Black Zetsu's doing.
And they did — one by one, they "saw the light," filled with indignation, hatred, and wariness toward Black Zetsu.
Fortunately, Black Zetsu was already in Konoha's custody — one great threat removed.
"Without Black Zetsu's meddling, I believe peace will soon come to the shinobi world. This is wonderful news!" the Main House head said with feeling.
Others agreed, including Branch House radicals. They naively believed that without Black Zetsu, peace was inevitable.
The Konoha group nearly winced. They hadn't expected the Moon's Ōtsutsuki to be so naive — thinking peace would come just because Black Zetsu was gone.
Life on the Moon had left them with a shallow understanding of the shinobi world, of human nature, of class, and of social conflict.
If this had been the old Minato, he might have bluntly told them peace wasn't so simple.
But the now politically mature Minato saw no harm in a well-intentioned lie.
So he smiled and said, "Yes — without someone like Black Zetsu, true peace will soon arrive. In Konoha, we are committed to bringing that peace to the shinobi world and work tirelessly toward it."
"Under Konoha's leadership, the Land of Fire is undergoing changes unseen in a thousand years, removing threats left by Black Zetsu, and guiding our people toward peaceful, stable lives."
This was the art of speech — downplaying complexity, labeling necessary reforms as "removing Black Zetsu's remnants," and making the Moon's Ōtsutsuki believe Konoha's actions were righteous and noble.
In the future, if the Moon's Ōtsutsuki continued exchanging with Konoha, they could be taught deeper truths about class conflict and the meaning of reform.
For now, Minato was content to "guide" them using the shared ideal of peace.
On the topic of "Black Zetsu remnants," Minato explained that many still existed across the nations, including in high-ranking positions. These were people who, influenced by Black Zetsu, desired war and plunder, and were enemies of peace.
Konoha was determined to protect peace, meaning confrontation with these remnants was inevitable — even if they wished to avoid war.
Here, Minato quoted a certain great man: "Seek peace through struggle, and peace will endure; seek peace through compromise, and peace will perish."
The philosophical weight of the words made the Moon's Ōtsutsuki think deeply. Even those obsessed with peace admitted that when threats to peace were everywhere, true peacekeepers had to take up arms to defend it.
Through his honed art of communication, Minato skillfully guided their thoughts, subtly taking control of their perspective.
Given their closed environment, the Moon's Ōtsutsuki's understanding was limited. While not completely trusting, their thinking was still "simple" — making them easy to sway.
Meeting Minato was like a new player facing a top-ranked champion — completely outclassed.
By centering his arguments on "peace," Minato won their trust in Konoha.
And when Konoha showed them recordings and intel on Black Zetsu, the gesture of transparency only reinforced their belief that Black Zetsu was the greatest threat to peace, and that Konoha was the true guardian of peace — inheriting the Sage of Six Paths' will.
Naturally, they felt strong goodwill toward Konoha.
After all, the Sage and Hamura had been close brothers, united in their pursuit of peace.
They now seemed like natural allies — even distant kin.
Minato then declared that Konoha would continue down this path, striving to bring true peace to the shinobi world within ten years, realizing the dream of the Sage and Hamura.
As he spoke, his voice rose and fell with great passion — as if channelling a certain "little mustache" — stirring the hearts of his audience. The Moon's Ōtsutsuki were ablaze with the spirit and blood of their ancestors, ready to fight for a peaceful future.
In fact, even some of Konoha's group felt unexpectedly fired up, envisioning that beautiful peaceful future.
Clearly, Minato had learned much in the learning space, blending it perfectly with his own strengths and charisma.
Truly terrifying.
Minato had undoubtedly reached the realm of "this one must not be allowed to remain."
Of course, no one present wanted him gone.
What they felt was recognition, amazement, and excitement.
The Branch House, already passionate peace fighters, were completely ignited, itching to join Konoha at once.
But they held back — it was still the Main House's era of leadership, and any decision for the clan had to come from its head.
Even the Main House head was moved by Minato's speech and tempted to lead his people alongside Konoha. But with much to consider, he refrained from an immediate decision.
Still, Minato made a proactive offer: if the Moon's Ōtsutsuki were willing, they could work with Konoha for the future of the shinobi world, keeping their independence and joining the fight for peace.
This deeply tempted the Main House head, while the Branch House head — long holding this idea — quickly urged agreement, saying it was time to leave seclusion and take part in the great cause of peace.
