Chapter 358 - C358 : Bete's Forgiven

"What are you doing here, and how'd you even get inside?" Finn asked, with a defensive tone, sweating as the very obvious went through his mind… This guy could have killed all of us before we ever realized he was here. He's got us in an impossible situation.

"Pfft, you're probably thinking I could have killed you by now. To be honest, I really wouldn't be opposed to doing that with a few exceptions here and there." Shurry said, with a completely relaxed posture. "Though, as much as I may have you by the balls this time… I still need you alive, despite the horrible crimes against the people you've orchestrated, Finn."

"What are you talking about…" Finn all but demanded, but he was shut up.

"Do not even bother trying to sweep it under the rug. It's been known to be harder to lie to me, than to any god." Shurry narrowed his eyes, which was enough for Finn's blood to run cold. "Honestly I'm shocked you were able to hide it from yourself so damn long that you never drowned into aligning with Evilus." He continued with a sigh.

"What's your purpose in coming here, Fenrir." Loki demanded slamming her glass on the table and glared into Shurry's eyes. "First you hug my girls, and claim they were your little sisters. Then you feed Ais her favorite food, and now my puppy is all a bunch of mush right now. But then you go and make death threats against Finn, my captain." She said in a half drunken rant. "Don't think I won't dare to punish you, even if I have to do it myself."

"Pfft, ahahaha!!!!" Shurry laughed so hard the room shook for a moment. "Loki, the last god to make a threat like that to me…" His eyes flashed, then they closed, and a smile appeared on his lips. "I killed them more than half a million times. Really messing up their sanity. Do not think for a second your threat scares me." He said, now reopening his eyes again.

"So what are you here for?" Loki pushed, having to back down knowing Shurry wasn't lying in the slightest… It was clear, he wouldn't hesitate.

"Before that…" Shurry said, looking towards Bete. "Bete, the alpha who was meant to be born, and live their lives all the way to this age, was murdered while far too young to defend himself. So if you're alright with it, you'll accept the words of the alpha who did live that life, right?"

"You're not fucking with me are you? A real alpha… Humph, no wonder why I can't help myself. Go on, what do you want to say?"

"Do not let go of your suffering from the past. Use your loss as fuel to push forward and conquer any and all obstacles which afflict you, and your allies." He paused, to let the first part sink in. "Find it inside yourself, to forgive yourself for what happened, and love again."

"Huh…" Everyone uttered, looking to see Bete, the big tough guy with a ton of baggage, just lose it.

"Go on and have some puppies." Shurry added. "If you get strong enough it's possible to override the genetic differences between the races."

"Wait, what?" Bete asked in shock as if he'd been read straight through.

"That Lena girl 's been following you around hasn't she?"

"But, she's an amazoness."

"Yes, in my time, I have… well, I wouldn't call them a lover? However, Iska has been a major help in dealing with the trauma of my past. She gave me a son, the first ever male amazon. Along with a cute dark skinned werewolf."

Tiona and Tione blinked in shock at the statement.

"Big brother Shurry?" Tione timidly asked.

"Hmm?"

"Would that work for any race?"

"I don't see why not? I mean I did it, so it's at least possible with werewolves. But Pallums… I can not say. But what a wonderful motivation it is."

"Yes, it is."

"Alright, now then, you have two choices. You must decide between these, I refuse to acknowledge any other options you may think of." Shurry said, shifting the conversation back to his purpose. "First, you can choose to get in my way. Or you can cooperate with me, and undergo my training."

"What do we gain by cooperating?" Finn asked, quickly wanting more information.

"If you get in my way, I'll kill those responsible for it. And reshape everything such that it doesn't happen again." He explained.

"That's not what I asked."

"Some may actually prefer that path, honestly. My training is no picnic." Shurry said with a little chuckle. "Though, I can confirm it will be your best chance at defeating that damned, one-eye."

"When & where will this training take place?" Gareth asked, being the most down to earth of them all… He knew on an instinctive level that Shurry wasn't playing around.

"I'll assume you're going along then? Alright, I'll be bringing everyone down past the floors of Hell, descending into the dungeon's bowels, where Monster Rexes spawn endlessly. You'll learn how to fight, both on your own, and together with others." Shurry smirked. "I'll also be testing you personally, on occasion."

"How far down is that exactly?"

"Past the 60th floor."

"Hmm? We were planning an expedition to go down there. Something like a Demi Spirit has been giving us a hard time though."

"Makes sense considering Ais is Aria's daughter. That spirit is trapped in the dungeon's cycle. I'll take care of it tonight. No need to worry."

"We can handle it…"

"No, you really can't. Not the right way. I'm going to remove the spirit from the dungeon's hold." He chuckled. "Now then, everyone get some rest, and you should choose who's carrying Loki down there with you. Meet me in the central square at dawn." He finished, and then he and Luna left just as easily as they'd appeared.

Ais munched on her last bite, checks swelling like a squirrel preparing for winter. Once she finished she wiped her fingers and mouth clean of the oil.

"I'm going down there with him. I want to get stronger." Ais declared.

"Me too, I'm curious to see how strong he really is." Tiona grinned.

"If our princess is going…"

"Damn it, what the hell is he planning? Gods can't go in the dungeon!" Loki screamed. "Though it would be sweet to see my little Ais go and get stronger."
