After Katelynn and Doey entered the destroyed shipping area, they spotted the lift before approaching it. "This should take us to the cable car line," she said as they got on it.
Doey nodded as the lift's gate closed before the lift started going up. Doey looked at Michelle and noticed she was trembling with her face pressed against his side, which worried him. "Misha..." he said, lowly.
When the lift reached the top and the gate opened, Katelynn and Doey got off it before walking forward.
When Katelynn and Doey entered the room, they noticed the cable car was gone, which made her pout. "Aw man, the cable car isn't up here anymore; I was kinda hoping it was..." she said.
Doey looked up and spotted a handle on the cable car line. "We won't need the cable car," he said, which made Katelynn look at him. "Climb on my back."
Katelynn nodded and approached Doey before getting on his back. Doey stretched his right arm toward the handle and grabbed it before getting on a platform. "Hang on tight," he said as he stepped back.
Soon after, Doey sprinted forward and jumped, which caused the handle to move down. When the handle reached the end, Doey let go and landed on the ground. After Katelynn got off Doey, he turned his head to the right and spotted an opening. "This way," he said.
Katelynn nodded before she and Doey sprinted forward; the area started shaking before rocks fell on the left side, which made the duo take the right side.
Doey spotted a handle with electrified water under it before stretching his right arm toward it. After Doey grabbed the handle, he swung himself to the other side before letting go and landing on the ground.
Katelynn stretched her right arm and grabbed the handle before swinging herself to the other side; after she landed next to Doey, they sprinted forward. When Doey and Katelynn turned left, they saw large mining machines on the ground with a small gap.
Katelynn approached the gap before getting on it; while she was moving, the ground under the machines broke, and they fell into the abyss.
Katelynn looked at the giant hole with a blank expression before placing her hands on the wall, which made them stick. "Just in case..." she said before she continued moving.
When Katelynn was on the other side, Doey approached the ledge before two dough arms sprouted out of his back. Doey looked at Michelle. "Try not to move..." he said, lowly, before placing his free hands on the wall, which made them stick, and carefully moving on it.
When Doey reached the other side and the dough arms retracted inside him, he and Katelynn spotted a large hole before approaching it. When Doey and Katelynn were close to the hole, they crouched before entering.
Halfway through the crawl, the cave shook before a large rock covered the hole, which made Doey and Katelynn look at it. "Well, there's no turning back now..." she said, lowly, before they moved forward.
After Katelynn and Doey got out of the hole, they saw a tunnel with fallen rubble and bent yellow pipes. "This looks like a dead end," she continued before they walked forward and looked around.
When Doey got on the broken conveyor belt, he turned his head to the left and saw a downward slope. "Katie," he said, which made Katelynn turn to him. "Over here."
Katelynn nodded before she approached Doey; when she was close to him, they looked at the slope before sliding down. When Doey and Katelynn reached the bottom of the slope, they saw a door with a lever nearby before approaching it.
As Doey examined the door, he spotted an Omni-Hand scanner before looking at Michelle. "Misha... the Omni-Hand..." he said, lowly. "Pretty please..."
Michelle lifted her head and glanced at the scanner before aiming at it and pulling the right trigger.
The Omni-Hand shot forward and touched the scanner, activating it; when it finished, the light above the lever started flashing. Doey gently smiled at Michelle as the Omni-Hand retracted. "Thank you; I'll take it from here," he said.
Michelle remained silent and lay her head on Doey's side as he stretched his arm toward the lever and grabbed it before pulling it down.
Soon after, the light above the door turned green before it started opening, revealing a large mining pit, before entering and looked around. The trio saw Poppy and Kissy Missy near the large yellow crane before going down a slope.
Kissy Missy looked around the area, rubbing her right arm, while Poppy held the phone out in a panic. "Ollie...! Ollie...! Can you hear me?!" she shouted. "Ollie?!"
Poppy heard footsteps, which surprised her; she turned her head to the source and saw Katelynn and Doey, with Michelle in his arms, approaching her.
Poppy was angry and approached the trio before looking at Michelle. "You... what have you done?!" she shouted. "Do you even understand what happened?"
Michelle remained silent and looked away, clinging to Doey as Poppy looked away with a frown. "Safe Haven... and the Prototype; he..." she said, lowly, before gritting her teeth and looking at her with angry eyes. "Did you even plant the explosives?"
Michelle trembled and dug her fingers into Doey's side, which made him frown. "This mess is all your fault!" Poppy shouted.
Katelynn glared at Poppy with a snarl and slammed her tail against the ground, creating large cracks under it. "That's enough!!" she shouted, which made her and Doey look at her, surprised. "Can't you see she's suffered enough?!"
Katelynn approached Poppy with her blue teeth extended, and her fingertips turned into claws, which made her back away toward Kissy Missy. "Big Sister has put her life on the line time and time again without a second thought," she said. "The only reason Safe Haven is gone is because of your asinine plan."
Katelynn menacingly glared at Poppy as her body boiled. "If anything, this whole mess is actually your fault, you shitty doll!!" she shouted.
Most of the group looked at Katelynn, shocked, as she tried to catch her breath while her claws retracted and her body stopped boiling. Soon after, the phone started ringing, which made most of the group look at it. "Ollie?" Poppy asked before it went quiet.
"Hey, what's going on? Where are you?" Ollie asked.
Poppy stared at the phone before looking down. "We're at the barracks..." she said. "And Safe Haven..."
Poppy gritted her teeth and gripped the phone a bit. "It's all gone..." she continued.
The phone remained silent for a moment. "I'm... sorry for all of the lives you've lost..." Ollie said.
Most of the group stared at the phone. "But we can mourn the dead later; right now, we need to reach the Labs and stop the Prototype," Ollie continued.
"Wow, that's a harsh thing to say," a male voice said, which surprised some of the group.
The group turned their heads to the source and saw DogDay with Scout on his shoulder approach them. "What? DogDay, is that you?" Ollie asked.
When DogDay was close to the group, he sternly looked at the phone. "Not just me..." he said.
Soon after, the Safe Haven residents and Michelle's group emerged from hiding before approaching the small group. "Everyone who was in Safe Haven is alive and accounted for," DogDay continued.
"I... I don't understand..." Ollie said, lowly.
Michelle lifted her head from Doey's side. "I knew it..." she said.
Most of the group looked at Michelle as Doey placed her on the ground. "Misha? What's going on?" Ollie asked.
Michelle glared at the phone. "We decided to test your loyalty to our group," she said before making a thumbs-down. "And I'm disappointed to say that you failed."
Ollie sounded baffled. "W-When did you—" he was interrupted when Michelle placed her hands on her hips. "When did we come up with this plan? It happened hours ago..."
(Flashback Begins)
Michelle opened the door to the memorial room and looked around. "No security cameras; that's good," she said before entering.
Soon after, Poppy and Kevin entered the room before the door closed. "What is it you want to talk about?" Poppy asked.
Michelle closed her eyes and took a deep breath before exhaling. "What I'm about to say is bizarre, but bear with me," she said.
Poppy and Kevin stared at Michelle as she turned to them with serious eyes. "I believe Ollie is the Prototype," she continued.
Kevin looked at Michelle, shocked, while Poppy's eyes widened. "Are you serious?" he asked.
Michelle nodded. "I know it's crazy, but—" she was interrupted when Poppy looked at her with angry eyes. "You're wrong!!"
Michelle looked at Poppy. "Ollie can't be HIM; it's impossible!" she shouted. "There's no way it's him!"
Michelle crossed her arms. "You know how the Prototype speaks, right?" she asked rhetorically. "He uses other people's voices and mimics them like a parrot."
Poppy looked down and clenched her fists. "It wouldn't be far-fetched to say that the Prototype is mimicking Ollie's voice," Michelle continued.
Poppy sternly looked at Michelle. "You have no proof that HE'S mimicking Ollie's voice!!" she shouted.
Michelle nodded. "You're right, I don't," she said as she uncrossed her arms before placing her hands against her hips. "But... we had someone who used to follow the Prototype."
Michelle looked at the door. "Isn't that right, CatNap?" she asked, which made the duo look at the door.
"What the Angel said is right..." CatNap whispered. "When I served the False God, there were times I heard Ollie's voice mixed in his cacophony..."
Poppy's eyes widened before looking down. "And this plan you made with 'Ollie' would play in his favor because of one factor," Michelle said before looking at Kevin. "And that factor being Kevin."
Kevin looked at Michelle, shocked. "What? How am I an important factor?" he asked.
Michelle faced Kevin. "Let me answer your question with a question of my own," she said. "Besides Katie and me getting hurt or killed, what will cause you to crash out?"
Kevin placed his hand under his chin. "Besides you and Katie, it would be..." he said before realizing it, which horrified him. "The destruction of Safe Haven..."
Michelle nodded before placing her hand against her chest. "And if I were the one to place the charges in the foundation..." she said.
Kevin's eyes widened, and he looked at Michelle. "He thinks I'll kill you just because you destroyed Safe Haven?!" he shouted before he snarled, and his body started boiling. "That fucker; I'll tear him apart!!"
Michelle pointed at Kevin. "And that is what the Prototype will try to use," she said, which made him look at her. "Your anger is the key to it all. If you go in a rage so bad that you can't differentiate between friend or foe... it'll be the end of everything."
Kevin stared at Michelle before closing his eyes and taking a deep breath; as he exhaled, his body stopped boiling. "I see... he thought ahead of this..." he said.
Poppy looked at Michelle. "So then, what do we do?" she asked.
Michelle looked at Poppy. "For now, we'll play along," she said. "As we're playing along, the gadget Bubba is working on is the key for this plan to work."
Kevin looked at Michelle and crossed his arms. "You mean that metal sphere?" he asked.
Michelle nodded. "He said he was gonna try to use it to deactivate any security cameras and anything technological the Doctor has," she said.
Michelle looked at the duo. "Once the gadget is activated and everything goes dark, we use the mini Smiling Critter corpses around the area, make them look like living toys, and set them inside Safe Haven while the residents escape to a safer area, hiding," she continued.
Kevin hummed a bit and nodded. "Interesting..." he said before looking at Michelle. "But what if Bubba isn't able to make the device on time?"
Michelle sighed a bit. "While not ideal, we could have Scout in a hidden area and use that control panel she uses to turn the lights off," she said. "But I fear it'll be too... unnatural..."
Poppy looked at Michelle. "How will the other toys know when to start your plan?" she asked.
Michelle placed her hand on her right shoulder. "We'll need a signal for that," she said. "I can comment that my shoulders are aching."
Poppy remained silent and looked down. "It might be best if we tell the larger toys about this plan," Kevin said. "I don't wanna freak out the smaller ones, and word might accidentally spread."
Michelle nodded. "Good idea, but eventually, we'll have to tell them," she said.
Kevin nodded in agreement while Poppy looked at Michelle. "Now that I've told you two my plan, it's time we tell the others about it," she continued, which made them nod before they approached the door.
(Flashback Ends)
Michelle glared at the phone. "After I obtained the Omni-Hand and the Prototype was luring Katie and Doey away from Safe Haven, we began our plan," she said.
(Flashback Begins)
Poppy entered the storage room and looked at Bubba Bubbaphant. "It's time," she said.
Bubba Bubbaphant nodded as he grabbed the gadget with his trunk before throwing it in the air. When the gadget hit the ground, the lights on it flickered before it shot off an electrical pulse, which caused Safe Haven to go dark.
Bubba Bubbaphant approached the gadget. "We've got one hour," he said before picking it up with his trunk and looking at Poppy. "Let's get to work."
Poppy nodded as the duo left the storage room; in the main area, Mommy Long Legs, CatNap, KickinChicken, PickyPiggy, and Bubba Bubbaphant held mini Smiling Critter corpses in their arms before placing them in different locations.
Hoppy Hopscotch, Poppy, and CraftyCorn guided the smaller toys to the unbarricaded shipping area. "C'mon, kiddos, keep moving," Hoppy Hopscotch said.
The mini Kissy Missy looked at CraftyCorn while making worried chirps. CraftyCorn looked at the mini Kissy Missy before kneeling and petting her head. "It's alright, little one; we're going somewhere much safer than here," she said.
The mini Kissy Missy looked at CraftyCorn before nodding and approaching the opening with the others.
When the lift with some of the smaller toys reached the top, Yarnaby, with the metal canister in his mouth, lay on the ground; after they got on him, he stood up and sprinted forward.
As Miss Delight, wearing Michelle's bag on her back, examined the cable car, Yarnaby got on the platform before lying on the ground, which made the smaller toys get off him.
Once the smaller toys entered the cable car, Miss Delight nodded before looking at DogDay with Scout on his shoulder, standing next to a console. "Mr. DogDay, the cable car is full," she said.
DogDay nodded as he grabbed the lever before pulling it, which caused the cable car door to close before moving forward.
When the cable car was on the other side, the door opened, which revealed PJ Pug-A-Pillar and Bunzo Bunny riding on Pianosaurus's back. "Hi there; we'll be your guides," he said.
After the toys climbed on PJ Pug-A-Pillar, Bunzo Bunny tapped Pianosaurus's back before he sprinted forward, which made him follow.
At the large mining pit, Bobby BearHug with Medic on her shoulder, Huggy Wuggy with Simon Smoke on his shoulder, and Kissy Missy with the Mini Huggies holding her guided the smaller toys to different hiding spots.
Medic placed his claw against his screen. "I want to say this is half the people in Safe Haven," he said, which made Bobby BearHug nod in agreement.
"Hey!" Bunzo Bunny shouted, which surprised some of the group.
The larger toys looked up and saw Bunzo Bunny waving while PJ Pug-A-Pillar climbed down the wall as the smaller toys clung onto him. "We've got more people coming your way!" he shouted.
When PJ Pug-A-Pillar was on the ground, Kissy Missy approached him and petted his head. "Good boy," she said while the Mini Huggies happily chirped.
PJ Pug-A-Pillar happily panted and barked as the smaller toys got off him. Huggy Wuggy approached the group. "C'mon, losers, we gotta find you hiding spots," Simon Smoke said.
As Bobby BearHug watched Huggy Wuggy guiding the smaller toys and PJ Pug-A-Pillar climb the wall, she heard static before looking at the walkie-talkie hanging on the left side of her belt. "Bobby, do you copy? Over," DogDay said.
Bobby BearHug grabbed a walkie-talkie off her belt before holding it out and pressing the button. "Loud and clear, DogDay, over," she said before letting it go.
"The last of the smaller toys are riding the cable car, and the ones inside Safe Haven have finished setting things up; we'll be heading in your direction soon, over," DogDay said.
Bobby BearHug pressed the button on the walkie-talkie. "Roger that, DogDay. Out," she said before letting it go.
After Bobby BearHug placed the walkie-talkie on the left side of her belt, she sighed and looked up. Be careful, you two... she thought before walking forward.
(Flashback Ends)
"You did all of this... just to test my loyalty?" Ollie asked.
Michelle nodded. "That's correct; I was giving you the benefit of the doubt because you were Poppy's friend," she said before glaring at the phone. "But after this test we put up, you're not our ally."
Ollie sounded like he was panicking. "Y-You're wrong; I am your ally," he said. "I helped you in Playcare; if I were your enemy, why would I help you? It wouldn't make sense, right, Poppy?"
Poppy remained silent before looking away with a frown. "Poppy...?" Ollie asked.
Michelle glared at the phone. "The charade's over, Ollie!" she shouted. "Or should I say... Prototype!!"
The area went silent until they heard Ollie giggling, which surprised the group. Soon after, Ollie's giggling turned into maniacal laughter, which scared the smaller toys.
Soon after, the group heard a sigh coming from the phone. "You're a lot smarter than I thought," the Prototype said.
