In the dining room, Katelynn was setting the silverware on the other table, humming a bit, while Yarnaby watched her.
After Katelynn set a fork near the plate, she heard the door open, which surprised her; she turned her head to the source and saw the group exit the room. "You're back," she said.
Michelle looked at Katelynn. "Where's Lily?" she asked.
Katelynn placed her finger against her chin. "Well... she told me that she was gonna find some more decorations for the other table, and that it wouldn't take too long," she said before looking at the group. "Why? Did something happen?"
Kevin looked at Katelynn. "Let's just say... keep an eye out on your surroundings," he said.
Katelynn nodded. "You got it, Big Brother," she said.
"Got what, Doozy Suzy?" a female voice asked, which made Katelynn flinch and surprised most of the group.
Katelynn stepped away, revealing Lily Lovebraids smiling at the group while holding a plastic candelabra in her hands. "I, uh..." she said, lowly, before looking at the table and gesturing to it. "Got all the things set up on the spare table."
Lily Lovebraids looked at the table with a smile. "Awesome job, friend!" she shouted before her small braid grabbed the candelabra and placed it near the center of the table.
Lily Lovebraids looked at the small group as she retracted her braid. "And what brings you here, Braid Buddy?" she asked.
Michelle smiled a bit. "We found one of the friends," she said before looking at Kevin. "Isn't that right, Red?"
Kevin nodded before holding Dusky out to Lily Lovebraids. "She was inside a car," he said.
Lily Lovebraids smiled and approached Kevin before grabbing Dusky from his hand. "Is that right?" she asked rhetorically. "Were you messing around in the garage? Remember, good toys wash their hands!"
The group stared at Lily Lovebraids with sweatdrops as she giggled a bit before approaching the far seat on the left side. As Lily Lovebraids set Dusky in the chair, Katelynn looked at her. "Say, Lily, I have a question," she said.
Lily Lovebraids smiled at Katelynn. "Sure, ask away!" she shouted.
Katelynn placed her finger against her chin. "Well, I was wondering... if you were watching us at the previous area in the first place, why didn't you reveal yourself before we were in Sweet Street?" she asked.
Lily Lovebraids's smile faltered a bit before looking down and played with her thumbs. "Well... when I was brought here, I would always wait for toys to play with me, but they've never come by..." she said.
Lily Lovebraids smiled at the group. "Then I thought, 'If they won't come to me, I'll go to them.'. The Special Guest said I shouldn't walk out of these doors..." she continued before pointing at the roof. "But he didn't say anything about using the vents to leave this place, so I've been using them ever since."
The group stared at Lily Lovebraids as she happily laughed; when she looked at them, her laugh turned into a nervous laugh before tapping her index fingers together. "Please don't tell the Special Guest about this..." she said, lowly.
Michelle smiled as she placed her finger over her mouth. "Don't worry, it'll be our little secret," she said.
Most of the group nodded in agreement, which made Lily Lovebraids sigh in relief. "Thanks, Braid Buddy," she said.
Yarnaby approached the seat Dusky was in and sniffed it, which made the group and Lily Lovebraids look at him. Lily Lovebraids approached Yarnaby as dust got on his face, which irritated him. "Don't you think she's pretty?" she asked.
Yarnaby shook the dust off his face before rubbing his paw against it, which made Lily Lovebraids hum. "You don't think so?" she asked before placing her finger against her chin. "Then how can we make her prettier?"
Yarnaby stared at Lily Lovebraids before looking at Dusky and opening his mouth. The group was surprised as Yarnaby got close to Dusky's head, which made Lily Lovebraids gasp in horror.
Lily Lovebraids's eyes became slightly bloodshot before she placed her hands against Yarnaby's jaws. "No, no, no, bad toy!!" she shouted, which made him look at her before stepping away. "We don't bite the heads of good toys; you only do that if they're bad toys!"
Michelle stared at the duo as Yarnaby closed his mouth. She gets really defensive if someone tries to hurt these dolls... she thought. In that case...
Michelle turned to the group and whispered to them while Lily Lovebraids placed her hands against her hips with an angry pout. "It's clear to me that you don't know the proper way to make toys pretty," she said before placing her hand against her chest. "Then, it's up to me to teach you with experience."
Yarnaby tilted his head as Lily Lovebraids turned to the group. "Suzy, I'm gonna need your help again," she continued.
The group turned to Lily Lovebraids, confused. "For what?" Katelynn asked.
Lily Lovebraids gestured to Yarnaby. "I need you to come with me to my room and help me give Yarnaby a makeover," she said, which made the group's eyes widen. "He needs firsthand experience on how to be pretty."
Kevin glared at Lily Lovebraids with a snarl. "Like hell I'm gonna—" he was interrupted when Michelle wrapped her arms around his left arm. "I think that's a lovely idea."
Kevin looked at Michelle, shocked. "We all want to look our best, so giving Yarnaby a makeover makes the most sense," she continued. "And he's gonna need all the help he can get."
Kevin lowered his head to Michelle. "What are you doing?" he asked through gritted teeth.
Michelle leaned close to Kevin. "If we let her go with Lily, she'll be able to see her room firsthand," she whispered, which surprised him. "If she can pinpoint odd things inside it, that's where the key will most likely be at... that'll give us a huge advantage..."
Kevin remained silent and looked down. "I don't like this just as much as you do... in fact, those words I said to Lily involving Katie make me want to puke..." Michelle whispered. "But we can't ignore this golden opportunity..."
Katelynn looked at the couple before placing her hand against Kevin's right arm, which made him look at her. "Big Brother?" she asked.
Kevin stared at Katelynn before standing properly. "She's right; his mane is probably tangled up after all the stuff the Doctor made him do," he said before slightly smiling at her and winking at her. "A second pair of hands can really help."
Katelynn stared at the group before smiling and nodding. "You can count on me!" she shouted before approaching the duo. "If there's any dirt or grime on him, I can clean him up easily."
Lily Lovebraids smiled at Katelynn until the record player stopped playing music, which made her look at it. "Oh, looks like it stopped," she said before approaching it. "Once I get it working again, we can head upstairs."
When Lily Lovebraids was close to the player, she grabbed the crank before turning it, which played a different song. Lily Lovebraids pulled her hand away from the crank before smiling at the duo. "Alright, let's go!" she shouted.
Katelynn nodded before looking at Yarnaby. "C'mon, Yarnaby," she said before approaching Lily Lovebraids.
Yarnaby stared at the duo before following them; as they climbed the stairs, Lily Lovebraids looked at Katelynn. "By the way, is there a reason why you called Raging Red 'Big Brother'?" she asked.
Katelynn flinched before nervously smiling at Lily Lovebraids as they reached the top of the stairs. "Oh! Well, uh... Doey was like a Big Brother in Safe Haven, so it kinda stuck to me," she said.
When the trio was out of sight, Michelle looked at Huggy Wuggy. "I guess you'll be our lookout; let us know if something happens," she said.
Huggy Wuggy nodded as Michelle looked at the trio. "Shall we?" she asked, which made them nod before they approached the stairs and climbed them.
When the group reached the top of the stairs, Michelle looked at the white double doors and noticed Lily Lovebraids's braided hair all around it, which surprised her. "Didn't you guys go through this door to get the table and chairs?" she asked.
Matthew looked at the double doors. "It was," he said before placing his hand against his chin. "She must've done it when we weren't paying attention."
Kevin realized something before approaching the double doors. "You said Lily's hair was similar to horse hair, right?" he asked rhetorically before sharpening his right claws. "If I can make my claws sharp enough to cut her stupid hair, we can go through them again."
The trio followed Kevin. "Maybe, but that note also said that there was a bone construct and other biological materials within her hair," Matthew said.
When Kevin was close to the double doors, he placed his right claws under some purple, braided hair before pulling against it.
However, the braided hair was unfazed, which annoyed Kevin as he pulled his hand away from the purple, braided hair. "Damn, that didn't work," he said.
When Kevin looked at his right hand, he noticed strands of purple hair were stuck inside his claws, which shocked him before he tried shaking it off.
When the hair in Kevin's claws was unfazed, he was annoyed before he shook his hand faster. "What the hell, it's not coming off!" he shouted.
The trio was surprised before Michelle approached Kevin. "Here, let me see," she said.
When Michelle was close to Kevin, he lowered his hand to her level, which made her look at the strands of hair in his claws, surprised. "Man, they're really stuck in there," she continued as she grabbed a few of them in his index finger and pulled them out before placing them in her left hand.
The duo approached the couple as Michelle pulled the remaining strands of hair out of Kevin's claws, which made him look at his hand before moving his fingers a bit. "What the hell was that about? That hair stuck to me like glue," he said.
Michelle examined the strands of hair and moved some of it between her fingers with a hum. "I've seen Play-Doh always getting stuck in kids' hair from both the orphanage and other people's homes," she said. "I think one of the caretakers said it was due to the moisture within the hair."
Michelle dropped the strands of hair to the ground before shaking her left hand. "The only explanation I can think of is that one of their biological materials makes her hair so moist that objects like Doey Dough and Suzy Slime will stick to it," she continued.
Kevin growled at the door, annoyed. "Well, that's just great..." he said, lowly.
Jack frowned a bit and looked down. "She did that because of me, right?" he asked, which made the trio look at him, surprised, as dark teal dough tears pricked his eyes. "After I attempted to get into her room, she..."
Michelle frowned a bit and approached Jack. "No, no, Jack; it's not your fault," she said.
When Michelle was close to Jack, she placed her hand on top of his head, which made him look at her. "She was probably gonna do that even before that incident..." she continued before petting his head. "Don't blame your actions for this setback..."
Matthew nodded. "Misha's right; don't be hard on yourself, Jack," he said.
Jack remained silent and nodded before Michelle pulled her hand away from his head. Michelle turned her head to the left and spotted a large opening on the far left. "I think Mommy went through there..." she said before looking at the trio. "Let's check it out."
The trio nodded before the group approached the opening; when they went through it, they saw a large room with a large pink toy piano, a Pianosaurus rug under it, a few faux picture frames, and a couple of bookshelves: one on the left and the other on the far right next to a balcony.
As the group looked around, they spotted Mommy Long Legs standing near the large seal-like tuba. "Mommy?" Michelle asked.
Mommy Long Legs turned her head to the group, smiling. "Ah, you've arrived; you have perfect timing, my little Misha," she said before looking at the trio. "And the rest of you, I suppose..."
Kevin rolled his eyes with a huff as the group approached Mommy Long Legs. "Did something happen?" Matthew asked. "I figured a place this large you'd be able to find a toy in here quickly."
Mommy Long Legs turned her head to the back with a sweatdrop. "Oh, I did find one of them, alright..." she said, lowly.
The group looked at Mommy Long Legs, confused, as she stepped away from the seal-like tube, revealing Baby Long Legs stuck inside the bell of it.
The group stared at Baby Long Legs, baffled. "I tried to pull the doll out of the tuba, but it was causing its neck to stretch," Mommy Long Legs said.
Mommy Long Legs looked down, slightly gloomy. "If I continued that any longer, I feared that I might tear it by accident... so I stopped and tried to think of another way to get it out," she continued.
Mommy Long Legs looked at Michelle. "Before your group entered, I discovered that at the end of this tuba is a green handprint," she said before smiling. "And as I was thinking about you, your group just so happened to come here. It's like I have a guardian angel answering my prayers."
Michelle chuckled a bit. "I see..." she said as she approached the seal-like tuba and twisted the knob, retracting the Conductive Hand inside her arm, and the Pressure Hand appeared. "Then, leave the tuba to me."
When Michelle was near the back of the tuba, she spotted the green handprint in the large mouthpiece before aiming her right arm at it. The Pressure Hand shot from Michelle's wrist and touched the green handprint. "Stand back, everyone," she said.
As the group backed away, the pressure gauge on the Pressure Hand started going up. When the pressure gauge was in the red, Michelle retracted the Pressure Hand back to her wrist, which made the seal-like horn make noise and push Baby Long Legs out of it.
Soon after, Baby Long Legs hit the piano's board prop and landed inside it before the tail of it closed, which dumbfounded the group. "Are you fucking kidding me?!" Kevin shouted.
Matthew stared at the piano with a sweatdrop while rubbing his head. "That was... not what I expected..." he said, lowly.
Jack and Mommy Long Legs approached the piano. "Can we get the back part open?" he asked.
Mommy Long Legs carefully placed her fingers under the tail part of the piano and tried pulling it open, but she struggled. Soon after, Mommy Long Legs stopped with an annoyed sigh before letting go of the tail part of the piano. "No good, it's sealed tight," she said.
Kevin growled and sharpened his claws. "It would be so much easier if we could destroy that piano," he said.
Michelle turned her head to the bookshelf near the balcony before approaching it. "You know the noise will attract Lily; we need to find another way to open the piano," Matthew said, which made Kevin growl a bit and look away with his arms crossed.
When Michelle was close to the bookshelf, she spotted a piece of paper on the second shelf before grabbing it. As Michelle looked at the paper, she noticed four colored music notes on it: yellow, purple, blue, pink. "Must be the order for the piano..." she said, lowly.
Michelle heard Lily Lovebraids's laugh, which shocked her; when she turned her head to the right, she saw her behind a spinning wall. "Candy!" she shouted while laughing before the wall closed.
Michelle approached the balcony and stared at the wall, concerned. She's supposed to be in her room with Katie; how did she— she got out of her thoughts when a purple roof panel fell and hit the ground, which made Huggy Wuggy turn to it, screeching.
Mommy Long Legs stretched her head toward the balcony before grinning at Huggy Wuggy. "What's wrong? Did the big scary guard dog get spooked?" she asked teasingly.
Huggy Wuggy looked at Mommy Long Legs, snarling. "Shut up!!" he shouted, which made her laugh.
Michelle remained silent before looking down with a blank expression. "Hey," a male voice said, which surprised her.
Michelle turned around and saw Kevin, Matthew, and Jack. "Did something happen?" Kevin asked.
Michelle turned her head to the back before shaking her head. "It wasn't anything major to worry about," she said before looking at the trio and holding the note up. "Anyway, I found a music sheet on the bookshelf; it might let me open the piano's tail."
Matthew smiled a bit. "That's good to know," she said before the small group approached the piano.
As Mommy Long Legs retracted her head toward the group, Michelle placed the note on the music rack before looking at the four keys: pink, blue, yellow, purple. "If I'm reading this music sheet right, it's yellow, purple, blue, and pink..." she said while pressing them in order.
Soon after, the tail of the piano opened up and the prop set back in place. Matthew approached the inside of the piano and picked up Baby Long Legs. "Now we can head back to the dining hall," he said, which made the group nod before they approached the opening.
