Chapter 669 - Chapter 669: Where Is Your Equipment?!

"Pass checked. Alright, you're good. Head on in."

Just as Bob had said, the security check for entering Hydra Mountain was unbelievably lax. The guard at the gate merely glanced at the magnetic keycard before letting them through. Thus, Peter and Kitty, dressed in Hydra uniforms, slipped inside just like that.

Peter's Hydra uniform was a disguise created by nanobots working in tandem with Anti-Venom, and the pass had been hand-crafted on the spot using nanobots as well. Even so, Hydra failed to notice anything amiss. Kitty was wearing the clothes taken from the dead Hydra grunt and using his card; she encountered no issues either.

"If it weren't for needing to be wary of the internal security sensors, we wouldn't have needed to go through all this trouble..."

After successfully infiltrating Hydra Mountain in such a bizarrely smooth fashion, Peter breathed a sigh of relief. Kitty followed behind him and asked, "So, do you know where we're going?"

"I gathered some intel on Hydra Mountain from Bob earlier. I have a general idea of where the teleportation room is. However, it seems this low-level Hydra soldier didn't know the full extent of the base's defensive strength, so we need to move cautiously."

Once Peter finished speaking, Kitty thought for a moment before looking at him. "Should we split up?"

"What? Split up?"

"Exactly. Wouldn't that be more efficient? I'll go to the armory or somewhere similar to cause some destruction. I'll draw their fire and buy you some time. After all, you have a lot on your plate—contacting the Avengers, opening the teleportation channel, disabling the signal jammer—"

"It will be dangerous."

But Kitty seemed to have already anticipated Peter's objection. "Don't worry. When it comes to staying alive, few people are better at it than I am. And don't let the fact that I'm only sixteen fool you; my combat experience isn't half bad."

Possessing all the memories of Shadowcat from the Days of Future Past timeline, Kitty could certainly be considered among the more experienced X-Men. Peter still felt uneasy hearing this, but Kitty simply turned and walked away. After a moment of hesitation, Peter chose to stick to the original plan.

On the outside, Deadpool would be leading Headpool and Ka-Zar to bring chaos to Hydra. Peter was quite confident that Deadpool could cause plenty of trouble, though he was slightly worried about Headpool—he didn't want a full-blown Zombie Identity Crisis breaking out in the Savage Land, or they'd have to call in S.W.O.R.D.'s Planet-Killer cannons to glass the place.

With Kitty causing a secondary wave of chaos from the inside, they should be able to ensure everything went smoothly even without knowing the enemy's full strength.

As Peter was thinking, a roar suddenly came from the distance: "You over there! What are you doing? Get your ass over here, now!"

Peter blinked, only realizing after a second that he was being addressed. He looked over to see a burly Hydra warrior standing at the entrance of a facility, beckoning him. He walked over, pretending to be a legitimate Hydra agent. The man didn't suspect Peter was an imposter and immediately demanded, "Where's your pass? Let me see it!"

Feeling slightly tense and ready to fight at any second, Peter handed over the pass. He heard the man mutter, "Ben Reilly? Never heard the name... Hm, are you the new recruit they just transferred in?"

"Uh... yes."

"Hm?"

"Yes! Sir!"

"Don't call me 'sir'! I'm just like you, just trying to earn a paycheck here! You idiot! You can call me Sergeant, or Sergeant Wildhalt, understood?!"

For some reason, Peter's nerves instinctively tightened, and he snapped to attention. "Yes! Sergeant!"

"Good. Now, soldier, tell me! Where is your power armor!"

Power armor? What power armor?

Peter asked tentatively, "No one issued me any power armor."

"Fantastic. Those idiots in Logistics... they want me to lead troops but won't give me equipment or supplies. Now, double-time it to Logistics and get your power armor! Do you hear me?! Right face! Forward march!"

For a split second, Peter seriously considered whether he should just take this guy out right now. However, he then realized that Hydra power armor was a field he had never explored, so he immediately complied and jogged forward. As for where Logistics was, it was quite easy to find; Hydra had been kind enough to put signs on every door.

"Reporting! The Sergeant ordered me to collect my power armor!"

"Hmm? The recruit from Hydra Island got here that fast?"

The Hydra clerk managing the logistics desk was an old man who looked to be in his seventies or eighties. He casually tossed Peter a key. "Go to Warehouse Seven. Just grab any suit of power armor and put it on."

For a moment, Peter Parker doubted if he was actually at a Hydra base. In his several encounters with Hydra, this was the first time he had seen them so relaxed. From Bob to the gate guard to the sergeant and the logistics staff, not a single person doubted his identity or thought to conduct a thorough check of the personnel coming and going.

This version of Hydra was truly beyond ridiculous.

Once he reached the power armor warehouse, Peter found it wasn't as easy to blend in. These Hydra power armor suits actually required biometric authentication. However, looking at the bulky suits, Peter performed a quick scan and reached the following conclusions:

First, these suits couldn't be hacked. It wasn't that hacking was impossible, but rather that once he hacked them, the entire Hydra system would respond instantly, and his intrusion would be discovered immediately.

Second, the design of these suits was very similar to Tony's early Iron Man armor. No, to be more precise, they were closer to the "Iron Monger" armor mentioned in the Avengers' files. However, the power source wasn't an Arc Reactor but another type of device that Peter didn't recognize, which was very suspicious.

"Alright, I'll do some prep work here first, then get ready to disable the signal jamming. When the time comes, I'll deploy the Spider-Bots to activate all the power armor and let them run wild inside the Hydra base."

As Peter spoke, he released the Spider-Bots within the warehouse. He then shifted his Hydra uniform into the Spider-Man Stealth Suit, vanished into invisibility, and rushed toward the teleportation room.

Regardless of what Hydra was hiding in the Savage Land or what their conspiracy was, they were finished today. No one was going to stop that!

With that thought, Peter arrived at the entrance of the teleportation room. Then, he saw Baron Zemo walking out.

"Zemo? Didn't he die in the battle against Kang?"
