Winding time back on the future timeline, approximately one hour prior.
Infiltrating the Oscorp Industries of another world posed very little difficulty for Peter's group. Utilizing Mysterio's helmet, they were able to slip inside Oscorp undetected by anyone.
Of course, a certain someone was highly annoyed by the arrangement.
"This helmet is clumsy and heavy, and it looks just like a fishbowl. Every time I wear it, my neck gets sore."
"Quentin Beck thought this outfit looked exceptionally sharp. It's an issue of personal aesthetics." Peter walked at the absolute front, subsequently adding, "And even if it weren't shaped like a fishbowl, this contraption likely couldn't be shrunk down much anyway. Given the sheer amount of equipment inside, making it compact is virtually impossible."
Gwen didn't offer many complaints, while Cindy remained entirely tight-lipped. Catching sight of a poster of Norman Osborn on a wall, she discovered that this world's Norman was actually Black. This prompted her to begin contemplating what versions of herself across other universes might look like.
Amidst this process, the trio slipped into Oscorp's laboratory, patiently waiting for that specific experiment to take place.
By this point, the Peter Parker of this world had already experienced a succession of narrative arcs. Following the accidental acquisition of his spider powers, he had saved Norman Osborn's son, Harry, and subsequently secured Norman's financial backing, operating in an Oscorp-manufactured suit for a period of time. However, after navigating a series of events, he had ceased relying on the power of Oscorp technology, finally donning a red-and-blue suit to operate independently.
Furthermore, not long ago, he had teamed up with his good friend Lonnie (Tombstone) to defeat the Scorpion and his gang, achieving a milestone of personal growth.
Granted, although neither of these two were particularly good individuals in the 616 universe—one being incarcerated and the other deceased.
Right now, the Black Norman was standing there announcing his grand initiative: he intended to utilize the technological breakthroughs of the young talents present to open a portal, thereby extracting near-endless resources from the vast cosmos. By doing so, Oscorp Industries could permanently maintain its monopoly.
"This dream is even more pathetic than the Osborn back in our world... Forget it, let's leave it at that."
Fearing that he might expose himself, Peter closed his mouth, because Strange was about to make his entrance. Unsurprisingly, after nearly every person present voiced their opposition, Strange materialized and began advising Norman against opening the portal. Before long, however, Norman began arguing with Strange, engaging in a traditional specialty: stubborn obstinacy.
Subsequently, the portal opened. It remained uncertain whether the opposite end connected to Klyntar, but a symbiote creature charged out and began a mass slaughter. Strange handled the containment while the rest of the occupants fled the scene. Shortly after, the Spider-Man of this universe, Friendly Neighborhood Spidey, found a secluded spot to change into his costume and leapt up to assist.
The three of them did not step up to help, largely because they already knew the outcome here. As long as the plot proceeded normally, Friendly Neighborhood Spidey could successfully resolve the adversary.
Peter, meanwhile, had already activated the scanning function of his nano-suit, locating that specific spider. Furthermore, he spotted several Oscorp employees hiding within Friendly Neighborhood Spidey's blind spots, completely undetected by him. A brief moment later, Peter observed a man dressed in a suit who had not yet evacuated, crouching low as he darted toward that spider.
"Ah, found you. Frankly speaking, I thought it would be a much more troublesome enemy to deal with, but it turns out to be just an ordinary human. My Spider-Sense didn't even react..."
"My Spider-Sense is buzzing." Cindy interrupted Peter's words, followed immediately by Gwen adding, "Mine is too. Is there something wrong with your Spider-Sense?"
It probably isn't that something is wrong with my Spider-Sense, but rather that I've grown stronger now, and the enemy no longer poses a significant threat to me. Peter kept this sentence to himself, instead assigning tasks to the two girls, "Cindy, go look after me—I mean, the other me's safety. Don't let him get blindsided. Gwen, go keep an eye on that spider. If you see another enemy make a move, use your abilities to take it away immediately."
As for what Peter intended to do?
Just as the man's hand was about to grasp the genetically altered spider, a strand of webbing adhered to his hand, followed by a forceful tug that launched him against the ceiling. Subsequently, the cloaked Peter materialized, firing a web-fluid with one hand to plaster the man securely to the ceiling.
At this exact juncture, the plot advanced to the sequence where Friendly Neighborhood Spidey was attempting to close the portal, and the Time Stone on Strange's chest was accidentally struck by the symbiote creature, causing him to be displaced into the past. Friendly Neighborhood Spidey was utterly dumbfounded by the sight. "Wait, another Spider-Man? Did Norman clone me too?"
"Cloned? Apologies, no one has managed to clone me just yet."
As Peter spoke, he fired a web strand that struck an enemy attempting a sneak attack on Friendly Neighborhood Spidey from behind. "Watch your back, friend. Though your Spider-Sense should already be ringing."
Before Friendly Neighborhood Spidey could fully comprehend what was happening, he witnessed a female Spider-Man materialize behind him, helping him kick away a suited thug before leaving behind a solitary instruction: "Keep working."
Following that, yet another female Spider-Man blocked others in front of Strange's portal. Friendly Neighborhood Spidey watched in shock as Strange floated back with the symbiote monster, and then two more Spider-Men charged out from within the portal.
His brain had completely stalled. Instinct told him he was the sole Spider-Man of this universe, yet today Oscorp Industries had somehow spawned five of them.
Directly following that was the scenario mentioned previously: over a dozen men in suits rushed forward, collectively transforming into some manner of monsters. They possessed large red eyes, antennae, and green exoskeleton armor, bearing a striking resemblance to Kamen Riders.
However, after a meticulous analysis, Peter discovered this was not the case. He swiftly arrived at a conclusion, "No, that's wrong. The ecological characteristics of these fellows resemble spider-wasps far more than locusts. An insect whose reproductive method involves injecting eggs into the bodies of spiders... For an animal of this nature..."
As for the faction that this creature could represent, Peter could only think of a single entity.
The Wasp Goddess, the ultimate nemesis of the Spider Totem—Shathra.
"Alright, local Peter Parker, keep doing what you're doing and help Strange resolve his issue. We'll hold these guys back for you."
Peter shrugged before taking a deep breath, while Friendly Neighborhood Spidey turned to the local Strange in total bewilderment. Strange sized up the group of newcomers and let out a sigh, "Listen to them, Spider-Man. Just like those individuals, they hail from other parts of the multiverse."
"At the very least, they aren't enemies right now."
