The sun beat down harder than usual.
By now the island had become a true training ground—scuffed earth, broken branches, pockmarked trees from Vivi's shots, and smooth grooves in the sand where Kaya practiced her steps.
Rael stood in the center, arms crossed.
"Warm-ups are over," he said.
"Now we push."
Robin braced herself. Vivi straightened. Kaya swallowed hard.
Rael smirked.
"Good. Don't blink."
And the training began.
Robin — Strengthening the Web
Robin sprouted a cluster of arms, weaving them into her Shadow Bind Flow. The interconnected limbs moved like a shifting net.
Rael snapped his fingers.
WHIP.
A tendril of compressed force shot out from his hand, hitting Robin's lattice. The entire cluster trembled—nearly collapsing—until Robin grit her teeth and reinforced it with two new chains.
Rael raised an eyebrow. "Better. But your reaction time is still slow."
Robin breathed heavily. "How… fast do I need to be?"
"Fast enough that you can change formations mid-attack. Don't think of it as sprouting limbs. Think of it as sculpting movement."
She nodded and tried again.
CRACK.
Another strike. Robin's lattice twisted, reshaped, redirected the force, and—
Held.
Rael smiled faintly. "Good. Again."
Vivi — Refining the Strike
Vivi stood with both hands at her sides, pebbles lined neatly on a cloth. She looked calmer today—more focused, more in control.
"Today we work on burst release," Rael said.
"Burst release?" Vivi echoed.
Rael pointed at four trees placed at different angles.
"All of them. Three seconds. Go."
She inhaled sharply.
Flick—Pak!
Turn—Flick—Pak!
Spin—Flick—Pak!
Drop—Flick—Pak!
Four hits. Not perfect placement. But all within the targets.
Vivi gasped, shaking her hand. "That… that was fast."
Rael grinned. "Speed comes from confidence. Your aim's still messy, but your release is clean. Keep polishing."
She clenched her fist. "I won't fall behind."
Kaya — Building Instinct
Kaya's clothes were soaked. Her breath choppy. But her eyes held something new: awareness.
Rael moved toward her slowly.
"Focus on my feet," he said.
Kaya nodded nervously.
He feinted left—she stepped right.
He lifted his arm—she shifted her weight back.
He twisted his torso—she leaned away, avoiding a strike that never came.
Rael smirked. "Good. You're reading intention, not movement."
Kaya gasped for air. "I… I don't know how I'm doing it."
"That's instinct. You have good danger sense. We'll polish it more."
She managed a shaky smile. "I'll try."
Late Afternoon — Pushing Through
Hours passed.
Robin's limbs grew faster, smoother.
Vivi's shots rang out like tiny gunshots.
Kaya dodged with growing confidence.
Rael didn't hold back today—not even a little.
Sweat turned the dirt to mud beneath their feet.
Their arms shook.
Their legs trembled.
Their lungs burned.
But none of them stopped.
And that, more than the techniques themselves, impressed him most.
Evening — Rael's Thoughts
The sun slipped behind the island as Rael dismissed the girls to wash up and rest. He stayed behind for a moment, sitting on a weathered rock overlooking the ocean.
Their progress was… acceptable. Good, even. Faster than most ordinary people.
Robin had discipline.
Vivi had precision.
Kaya had instinct.
But they were still far from reaching the level they would need to survive the storms he knew were coming—not just from this world, but from whatever had noticed him.
He exhaled slowly.
"I'll need to start giving them more."
Not just drills.
Not just techniques.
Something deeper.
Something powerful.
Something he remembered from before he came to the One Piece world.
He thought of the feeling of internal pressure, of spiritual focus, of senses sharpening to impossible clarity.
Not Haki—but something like it.
A foundational discipline his old world used instead of spiritual force.
But could they learn it?
He thought carefully.
Robin had the mental discipline, the calm mind, the analytical precision.
Vivi had the sharp awareness and muscle control needed for precise energy flow.
Kaya… weak physically, but incredibly attuned to danger and movement—rare talent for sensing intent.
They might have potential.
They might be able to learn a version of that old power.
The question was…
Did they have the talent to awaken it?
Rael looked toward the campfire where the three girls rested, laughing softly together despite their exhaustion.
He smirked.
"We'll find out soon."
Tomorrow, he would test their aptitude.
Tomorrow, he would begin preparing them for something greater.
Because the world was changing.
And something far beyond this verse…
had already turned its gaze toward him.
And for that, they needed more than skill.
They needed power.
Real power.
