Chapter 135 - Interception-1

(Omni-Base Headquarters)

The seats of the Vanguard Council were occupied. Several individuals, clad in suits of varying colors and designs, sat with calm expressions. Before them hovered a blueprint of a massive mecha spaceship, alongside multiple holograms displaying different scenarios and tactical projections.

This group was none other than Zayne and his team. They were currently reviewing the plans for the upcoming interception mission.

"So, as I said before, the mission begins today. For now, we need suitable participants," Zayne spoke first, making it clear that this wouldn't be an all-out deployment, but a carefully selected operation involving only those who met the conditions displayed on the holograms.

The team nodded, their eyes fixed on the projections they had been studying for several minutes, each lost in their own thoughts.

It wasn't that the mission was impossible—or that the enemies were unbeatable. The real issue lay in the environment and the sheer number of enemies.

"This is a big mission", Tommy thought solemnly. "But compared to what I've faced as a Ranger… this is doable".

The holograms painted a grim picture.

An apocalyptic scenario. A biological warship swarming with billions of Chitauri soldiers. Another monstrous vessel, carrying Kelzaks and piloted by a terrifying space general, rivaling the first in both scale and numbers.

And finally—

A sleek, sci-fi vessel tearing through space at faster-than-light speeds, carrying beings far more dangerous than the others. The Dark Elves.

All of them were converging on one small blue planet, Earth, each of them to plunder and destroy.

If this had been any ordinary world, the destruction would have been beyond catastrophic.

"Good thing we have Zayne", Tommy sighed inwardly, glancing at the young leader clad in red. His gaze carried a hint of complexity.

Zayne's strength, his control over situations, his composure—everything about him was exceptional. His strategies, his arsenal… even veteran Rangers rarely displayed this level of mastery, let alone a teenager.

Pushing those thoughts aside, Tommy refocused on the spaceship blueprint before him.

It was nothing short of a titan.

A star-faring behemoth capable of speeds far beyond light. Interstellar travel would be effortless with it. It could endure extreme space phenomena—asteroid storms, cosmic turbulence, even the pull of most black holes and spatial distortions.

And its combat capabilities were even more terrifying.

It could transform into a Megazord for direct combat, and even in its base form, its weapon systems could rival fleets across multiple galaxies.

"Better than anything I've ever seen", Tommy admitted inwardly, faint memories of his early days as a Ranger surfacing. Back then, their first spacecraft hadn't even come close to this level of advancement.

This… was on another level entirely.

After a moment of thought, Tommy finally spoke. "I'm in, kid."

"Mm, good," Zayne replied with a faint smile, as if he had already expected it.

To him, Tommy was the ideal candidate. A veteran of countless battles—especially in space. The others, while capable, still lacked that level of experience.

The rest of the team remained silent. Not out of fear… but uncertainty.

They had never faced a mission of this magnitude. The concern wasn't survival—it was the possibility of becoming a burden, or worse, compromising the mission itself.

The stakes were too high for reckless decisions.

Zayne didn't rush them. He understood. This was a defining moment for each of them.

Even he had felt the pressure. Before his recent breakthrough, doubt had lingered in his mind for days. Without his newfound strength, he might have hesitated to even initiate this operation.

Minutes passed in silence.

Only Alpha and Kara moved about, quietly processing data and adjusting projections.

The tension in the room was palpable. Each member weighed their strength, their growth, and the months of relentless training they had endured within the base.

Then, a male voice broke the tranquil silence.

"I'll go, leader."

Another figure clad in red, with white teeth stripes and a dinosaur paw emblem on his chest, stepped forward.

"Huh?!"

Audible gasps echoed across the room as half the team turned toward Conner in shock. The intensity of their stares made him instinctively take a step back.

"Uh… ahem… guys, can you stop staring?" Conner said, beads of sweat forming on his forehead as he struggled to understand their exaggerated reaction.

What he didn't realize was that their surprise was completely justified.

Even as a Red Ranger, Conner had never truly embodied leadership. He could be reckless, spoiled at times, easily distracted—more interested in football than training—and, worst of all, he had once been a coward. The guy was even afraid of swimming.

"Um… Conner, are you okay in the head?" Ethan leaned closer and whispered.

Bang~

Conner knocked Ethan's helmet lightly and pushed him away, a helpless look crossing his face. He understood exactly what Ethan meant. He knew himself better than anyone.

Out of all of them, he had been the least motivated. Why? Because football had always mattered more than being a Ranger.

He struggled to accept the idea of giving up his own dreams just to protect others. It felt… too selfless. Too foolish.

But then again, what kind of person risks their life for strangers? A hero had to be at least a little foolish.

And he wasn't a saint. At least… that's what he used to believe.

But things had changed.

Through months of training, watching his teammates grow stronger, more serious—more dedicated—something in him shifted. The fear that once gripped him during battles had faded, reduced to almost nothing.

And more importantly…

He was the true leader of the Dino Thunder team.

This time, he wanted to prove it. Not with words—but with action.

"Oh… are you sure?" Zayne asked, his tone carrying a hint of surprise.

But in truth, he had been observing Conner for a long time. The change in him hadn't gone unnoticed.

Even in the original timeline, Conner had started off as an unreliable leader. It took life-and-death battles—against Zeltrax and the corrupted White Ranger—for him to finally grow.

But now, under Zayne's influence… that growth had come much earlier.

Hearing the question, Conner's eyes, hidden beneath his helmet, sharpened with resolve.

"Yes… I'm very sure, leader."

"Good," Zayne nodded slightly before shifting his gaze back to the rest of the team. "Now we need one more person."

The Megazord configuration of the spaceship required four pilots. One slot remained.

"I'll go too."

Peter spoke up, his re-engineered Spider-Man suit gleaming with refined sophistication.

This time, no one reacted with surprise. It felt… right.

Despite his occasional immaturity, Peter's efficiency, coordination, and battle instincts were exceptional. Just right for the mission.

Zayne gave a short nod before standing up, dismissing the holograms with a wave.

"Great. Now that the candidates have been chosen, the mission will commence immediately."

"That fast?!" Trent spoke up, unable to hide his concern.

"Mm," Zayne replied calmly. "The enemies are closing in quickly. We need to at least slow one of them down before the others arrive."

He paused briefly before continuing, his tone steady.

"Reducing their numbers is necessary. It ensures the main sweeping operation can proceed safely—with minimal or zero losses. And since we're striking first, under the cover of their unpreparedness, the damage we inflict will be significant."

Then his gaze shifted toward the remaining team members.

"And you all will stay behind and protect Earth while we're gone. This mission will take a week."

His expression grew more serious.

"Mesogog has been unusually quiet these past few days. That alone is a problem. My guess is that he's preparing something big… and whatever it is, you'll need to stop it—no matter what."

"The safety of the planet rests in your hands."

Zayne's words fell like a heavy hammer, shattering the calm in their hearts. They had thought the interception mission was the most important part of the operation… but they were wrong.

Earth's safety was the true priority.

The weight of responsibility he placed on them was immense. But at the same time, it ignited something within them. They couldn't fail him. They couldn't fail the planet. This time they could protect the planet without his intervention.

They had to stand tall.

"Rest assured, Zayne. It's our mission. We won't fail," Kira said firmly, calling him by name instead of "leader" like the others.

"Mm, good. I trust you," Zayne replied with a faint smile beneath his helmet, completely unbothered by her choice of words.

He had never cared much for the title "leader." To him, they were all just teenagers thrown into something far greater than themselves. But the team insisted on it—out of respect and structure for the future.

Kira, however, was different. She was the only one who could call him by name so freely… aside from Tommy, who preferred "kid."

One after another, the rest of the team voiced their resolve, assuring him that Earth would be safe under their protection.

The meeting ended on a strong note.

Everyone dispersed immediately, heading off to prepare for their respective roles.

They all understood—this mission would mark a turning point for them as the Omni-Force team.

...…

Zayne, Peter, Conner, and Tommy stood before the Ranger spaceship inside one of the base's massive hangars.

The sleek titan loomed before them—its red frame lined with gold, mirroring Zayne's Crimson Ranger suit. It stretched for several meters, massive and imposing, making them feel like ants in comparison.

"Damn… It's this big?" Conner muttered, staring in awe at the vessel.

"Yeah. Wait till you see the interior," Zayne chuckled lightly. He understood the reaction—he had felt the same the first time.

"Cool… " It's always been one of my dreams to ride in a spaceship," Peter added, his voice filled with childlike excitement. "Especially one this beautiful and sci-fi."

Tommy simply nodded, impressed. Even after seeing the holograms, nothing compares to witnessing it in person.

Then—

Zayne turned to his team, his posture shifting instantly into one of discipline and focus.

"Remember, this mission is critical to Earth's survival. Give it everything you've got."

"Understood, leader." x3

They all gave a crisp, almost military salute—including Tommy.

Zayne chuckled inwardly, a faint sense of nostalgia washing over him, reminding him of his days in the Navy in his previous life.

"Very good," he nodded. "Keep that mindset, and this mission might end faster than expected."

"Activate spaceship," Zayne commanded through his Morpher.

[Activating S-tier Ranger spaceship…]

The once-silent titan came alive. Lights flickered on in sequence as the engines roared to life.

[Engines activated]

[Cannons activated]

[Special systems activated]

[Omni-energy core: fully charged]

[Go Go Power Rangers!!!]

The massive ship hummed as it lifted slightly off the ground, hovering steadily as if defying gravity itself, awaiting its pilots.

The four stood before it—figures of resolve and power—ready to embark.

Zayne glanced at his team. Their eyes burned with anticipation… just like his.

A small smile formed.

"Omni-Force… roll out."

In an instant, their bodies vanished—teleported directly into the ship.

Hummm~

The spaceship ascended higher as a massive teleportation gate formed ahead—a swirling, rainbow-like vortex.

This was Zayne's creation—a space-time gateway designed for operations like this.

It could traverse vast distances across the galaxy in moments. Though beyond that, its efficiency dropped, it was still enough to give them a critical head start.

Inside, the engines roared louder, the Omni-powered frame resonating with energy as it aligned with the gate.

Then—

Zwoosh~~~

The ship surged forward, its speed surpassing light itself as it vanished into the vortex.

Its destination… the universe.
