Gasps ripped through the crowd. Wealthy elites who had been hiding in their armored cars poked their heads out, looking like startled gophers. Some people whispered about aliens finally revealing themselves. Others returned to their bunkers in fear that more mutants had arrived.
"It's a mother ship." A man screamed. "I told you all, that they are here. I can see them up there, coming through holes in the sky."
"Shut up Looney tunes." Someone shouted.
Hades raised his brows. That was probably the only person in New Eden who knew what was truly going on. And they called him 'looney tunes!' They thought he was crazy.
"What the hell is that?" Finch stammered, his tough-guy act evaporating.
"It's an aircraft," Carson said, his voice dry. "It flies. Usually."
Samson Carter, the president's security advisor, pushed to the front, his jaw practically hitting his shoes. "Where did you find that? Is it pre-war? Is it alien? Can we buy ten?"
