"Number Zero, be liberated here! Reach for the boundless future stretching in every direction—this is the world we've carved open, soar straight into the sky! Cross time and space and descend—[Number F0: Utopic Future]!"
[Number F0: Utopic Future] Level │LIGHT│Warrior│0 ATK
[Xyz Monster × 2]
Without a Rank—or rather, having surpassed even the very rules of Rank itself—Number 0, connected to the power of the future, shoots Utopia skyward.
The students of XYZ Academy were collectively shocked: "Overlaying an Xyz on top of another Xyz, a monster without a Rank—there's even a way to fight like this?!"
Even an academy built upon Xyz Summoning had never witnessed such a thing.
A power that does not yet exist in this world—the power of the future.
"This is our finishing blow, the future counterstrike of the storm! Cut off the Aesir's divine causality with the power of the future, Number F0: Utopic Future!"
Calling out the name of the Future Emperor, Miles accelerated through the radiance and directly declared entry into the final turn's Battle Phase.
Nid said, "Aisha Carlos, are you planning to fight a god with a monster that only has 0 Attack?"
"Even with 0 Attack, even a monster that doesn't have a Level can surpass a god! — 'Future Blade: Hope Cleaving Strike'!"
Racing upon the light of the future, Utopia's shining sword clashed against the giant blade of Odin, the apex of Norse mythology.
In that instant, heaven and earth shifted, cloud seas churned, and a terrifying spectacle like the return of Ragnarok swept across the entire field.
"Odin, Father of the Aesir, has 3500 Defense. It's your turn to take the battle damage, Aisha Carlos!"
The thunder of the gods split the sky and struck down toward Miles atop his D-Wheel.
"FUTILE!"
Miles let out a roar that scattered the lightning, using the light of the future as a shield to nullify the battle damage.
"This is the effect of [Number F0: Utopic Future]!"
[This card cannot be destroyed by battle. Any battle damage from battles involving this card becomes 0.]
Unable to be destroyed by battle, and receiving 0 battle damage—this is the foundation that allows a 0-Attack Future Emperor to face a god head-on.
And after the battle, the power capable of severing causality and altering the future finally erupted completely from the rift created by the clash of blades.
"What is happening?!"
Speeding forward at high velocity, Nid looked up in terror.
The enormous body of Odin, standing in the sky, suddenly began to move after its battle with Utopic Future.
Without any declared command from Nid, Odin left its controller's field on its own.
"After the battle, a power capable of changing the future—the effect of [Number F0: Utopic Future] activates!"
[This effect can be activated after this card battles an opponent's monster. Until the end of the Battle Phase, take control of that opponent's monster.]
"After [Number F0: Utopic Future] battles [Odin, Father of the Aesir], I gain control of Odin until the end of the Battle Phase!"
Seizing control of a god outright—the almighty king of Norse mythology now stood solemnly on Miles's field.
"So even a god can't escape this effect, huh?"
Krista understood all too well—after all, even her own Trinity Accel Synchro [Stardust Chronicle Spark Dragon] had once been stolen by Utopic Future.
Stealing Nid's hand?
Not enough!
Stealing Nid's Graveyard?
Not enough!
Now, even the god on your field belongs to me.
The Aisha Carlos style of combat!
"NO!" Nid cried out. "You actually used Future Emperor's effect to steal the control of an Aesir!"
"Not enough!"
Miles held a card blazing with golden light.
This was the Quick-Play Spell revealed this turn by the effect of [Sylvan Princessprite].
"Stealing one Aesir isn't nearly enough! Take this raging storm of future consecutive strikes—Quick-Play Spell [Future Drive], activate!"
A dedicated support card for the "Utopic Future" series.
At the moment Miles hurled the Quick-Play Spell skyward, countless possibilities contained within time itself—from this moment to the far future—manifested phantoms of various "Utopia" forms, all converging upon [Number F0: Utopic Future].
[You can only activate 1 card with this card's name per turn. Target 1 "Utopic Future" Xyz Monster you control; this turn, it gains the following effects:
● It can attack all opponent's monsters once each.
● During the Damage Step when it battles an opponent's monster, that monster's effects are negated.
● Each time it destroys an opponent's monster by battle, inflict damage to your opponent equal to that destroyed monster's original Attack.]
A dedicated Quick-Play Spell granted [Number F0: Utopic Future] three entirely new effects.
And what Miles needed most now—and what would deal the most devastating blow to Nid's field—was the multi-attack power.
"After the activation of [Future Drive], this turn [Number F0: Utopic Future] can attack all of your monsters once each!"
Utopia's future twin blades ignited, unleashing a furious storm of dual-wield slashes upon the sky of the final battle.
"Stealing one god isn't enough! Number F0: Utopic Future, attack [Thor, Lord of the Aesir] and [Loki, Lord of the Aesir]!"
"—Future Blade: Starburst God-Slaying Slash!"
A power that could shatter even Stardust, that could sever even divine force—the twin blades infused with future energy cleaved through Thor and Loki's colossal forms.
Then the two remaining Aesir on Nid's field began moving on their own.
"During this Battle Phase, I'm taking all of your gods!"
The Three Polar Gods from the Astral Realm—Odin, Thor, Loki—all now stood upon Miles's battlefield.
Only now did Nid understand why Miles had activated [Dimension Fusion], willing to retrieve only a single Clear Kuriboh just to force him to Special Summon the Three Aesir from the Banished Zone.
If Nid hadn't Special Summoned the Aesir back from the Banished Zone, how could Miles possibly seize control of all three gods in a single battle?
Of course, one couldn't blame Nid for failing to notice.
Before today, who could have imagined Miles using [Dimension Fusion] specifically to drag the Aesir back—just to beat them up again?
"But Aisha Carlos, you still miscalculated one thing!"
He had miscalculated Nid's caution.
Even with 14800 Life Points remaining, during the fivefold Special Summon via [Dimension Fusion], Nid had chosen to set all five monsters in Defense Position.
Which meant the three Aesir stolen by Utopic Future were now on Miles's field in Defense Position—unable to continue attacking or deal any further damage during this Battle Phase.
"Even if you seize control of the Aesir during the Battle Phase, you can't keep fighting, Aisha Carlos! And once the Battle Phase ends, the Aesir's control returns to my field! Nothing changes in the end!"
Nid's Rune Eyes met the Three Aesir.
In Defense Position, even if stolen, the Aesir wouldn't hurt their original master.
This was the mutual understanding between man and god forged through their long battle.
"The unchangeable conclusion—the glory of victory belongs to Synchron Academy!
"Is it really unchangeable?" Miles asked with confidence. "Nid Hogg, have you forgotten something?"
"Forgotten… something?"
"I also have an ultimate trump card! Your gods have fought from the very beginning of this duel until now—however, my god hasn't descended yet!"
"Don't tell me…!" For a moment, terror flashed through the Rune Eyes.
A battle between God Cards—this was what Nid had foreseen as a God Card wielder before the duel even began.
Anyhow, throughout the duel, Miles had brought out Xyz, unleashed Synchro, even completed Fusion under extreme conditions—yet had never once revealed the most crucial one—the God Card!
"Without even using a God Card, he fought the Three Polar Gods all the way to this point… he even reversed a Twilight of the Gods."
Miles battling the Three Polar Gods to a standstill with nothing but "weak" cards had nearly made everyone forget.
Forget that the God Cards in this guy's hands… were more abundant than anyone else's.
"God summons! Let the final glory burn the road to ash with the flames of the God—on the far horizon lies our victory!"
Miles still had two cards in hand, and those two cards were prepared solely for the descent of the God Card.
"—Quick-Play Spell, activate [Thunderspeed Summon]!"
[Can be activated during your or your opponent's Main Phase or Battle Phase. Summon 1 Level 10 monster.]
Once every other card had been played, his final card no longer needed to conceal his identity.
Accelerating to the limit alongside his D-Wheel, divine flames spread from Miles's fingertips, igniting the entire Turbo Duel track as a solar blaze roared skyward.
Surrounded by flames, Miles raced along the godlike trajectory, hurling his card into the heavens as he chanted; the Millennium Puzzle shone with blinding radiance.
"Let the spirit sing—the ancient force that governs all! Its command, its soul, its remains. When heaven and earth converge, the sun will shine upon this world!"
Miles's last card, the pinnacle of the Egyptian God Cards, the Winged Dragon of Ra.
And as everyone knew, to summon an Egyptian God, an Ultimate Tribute was required: three monsters on the field.
This summon would determine the outcome of the divine battle. No—at the moment Ra descended, the divine battle was already concluded.
"I Tribute the three monsters on my field—[Thor, Lord of the Aesir], [Loki, Lord of the Aesir], and [Odin, Father of the Aesir]—a total of three offerings, to perform the Ultimate Tribute Summon! Kami descends—[The Winged Dragon of Ra]!"
In an instant, the divine clash between the God-Beast and the Aesir was settled.
Ra devoured the Three Polar Gods—using the Three Polar Gods themselves as its Tribute.
Their divine power surged into the golden sun manifested in the sky, allowing Ra to reveal its true, world-burning majesty.
[The Winged Dragon of Ra] Level 10│DIVINE│Divine-Beast│ATK ?
Miles declared the effect with a roar: "The Winged Dragon of Ra—its Attack becomes the total combined Attack of its three Tributes! Unleash the detonating might of the Three Polar Gods, Ra!"
[The Winged Dragon of Ra, ATK: ? → 10800]
Final Attack: 10800—the number that heralded Ragnarok.
Divine flames detonated. The very sky and earth burned before their eyes; it was as though Ra alone reproduced a world-ending Ragnarök.
"He… he used all three Aesir as the Tributes for the Sun God's descent!"
Even Nid had never imagined such an ending to their battle of gods.
The power of the Astral Gods was swallowed entirely by the sun; even the Rune sigils engraved in Nid's eyes disintegrated.
"The deciding God has descended—keep carving a path toward the victorious future! Number F0: Utopic Future!"
Under the effect of the Quick-Play Spell [Future Drive], Future Emperor Utopia, empowered with multi-attack ability, slashed out its final two strikes.
The last two defensive Aesir beasts on Nid's field were struck; and through Utopic Future's effect, their control changed, filling the two empty Monster Zones left after Miles had Tributed the Three Polar Gods.
At this point, with 14800 Life Points remaining, Nid now stood with an empty field.
"This is the final battle!"
Miles threw his fist forward, declaring the direct attack amid divine flame.
"With Synchro guarding the field, with Xyz forging the path, and Fusion delivering the final blow—watch closely! This is Fusion Academy's all-encompassing style of battle!"
With a spinning lance of surging force, the Dragon Knight vaulted upon Ra's solar flames and struck.
"Direct attack, Dragon Knight Draco-Equiste! — 'Wave God-Flame Lance'!"
A single flame-wreathed thrust pierced straight through, taking 3200 Life Points from Nid.
[Nid Hogg, LP: 14800 → 11600]
Yet Nid still had too many Life Points.
Even after taking a direct hit from Draco-Equiste, Nid still had more than ten thousand—more than Ra's absorbed Attack.
Gritting his teeth, the Rune Eyes collapsing into nothing, Nid refused to yield.
If he survived this turn, there remained a chance.
Miles only had 600 Life Points left; if Nid lived, he could draw even something as simple as [Monster Reborn], revive Odin from the Graveyard, and defeat Draco-Equiste with 4000 Attack.
"For Synchron's victory—even the strike of a Sun God, I'll endure it if I must!"
"You are a Duelist worthy of respect, Nid. To fight the final match with you… there's no ending more satisfying than this! Shikashi—!"
Miles narrowed his eyes, listening.
He could hear them—voices carrying countless bonds and hopes.
Field: "My proudest student!"
Erin: "Win beautifully!"
Nova: "You're the strongest Royal Knight, Aisha—Miles!"
Irena: "Go for it, Miles!"
Ren: "Go, Miles!"
Kevin: "You must win, Miles!"
Aisha: "Mr. Miles!"
Raiden: "With this battle, forge a new history for Fusion Academy, children!"
…
Even across a thousand miles, Fusion Academy stood behind Miles.
"A true ace carries every ounce of trust and expectation—and wins magnificently!"
His white hair flared into shimmering gold; entering a divine state through Aisha's vessel, Miles roared in unison with the burning Ra above.
"Fuse everything—truly everything! The Winged Dragon of Ra, activate your effect!"
[Pay Life Points until you have 1 remaining to activate. This card gains Attack/Defense equal to the amount paid. Also, if you control other monsters, you may Tribute any number of them; Ra gains Attack/Defense equal to the total Attack/Defense of those Tributed monsters.]
"I'm fusing every monster on the field—and even my own Life Points—into Ra's Attack! Let the sun's radiance surpass Ragnarök itself!"
[Miles, LP: 600 → 1]
[Dragon Knight Draco-Equiste] Tributed.
[Nordic Beast Gullinbursti] Tributed.
[Tanngrisnir of the Nordic Beasts] Tributed.
Everything merged into the final strike—even Miles's speeding D-Wheel transformed into a blazing phoenix, racing alongside the Sun God.
[The Winged Dragon of Ra, ATK: 10800 → 16099]
Final Attack: 16099—surpassing even Nid's maximum Life Points after absorbing Ragnarök.
"It's me—us—Fusion Academy who wins today, Nid!"
With a strike for victory itself, Ra unleashed the ultimate divine flame, blazing open a new chapter in Fusion Academy's history.
The curse of failed Fusion would be rewritten here.
"Charge, Aisha—Miles!!!!" × N
The Winged Dragon of Ra, infused with countless hopes, released the full force of the Sun God's blast.
"This is… GOD Attack!—Divine Majesty Flame Cannon!!"
An attack more terrifying than Ragnarök swept across the earth; the explosion of divine fire was so intense that even distant Fusion Academy felt the heat.
"AAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!"
[Nid Hogg, LP: 11600 → 0]
Your ten thousand Life Points—a candle in the wind! My one Life Point—indestructible!
Takehiko Izumi roared: "Kami, with 16099 Attack, a direct hit—BLOW☆OUT! In the Tri-Academy Finals, the ultimate victor is—Aisha Carlos of Fusion Academy!"
The strongest Duelists of the three academies gathered; the battle lasted nearly two weeks. There were victories, losses, laughter, and tears.
But when the gods' flames finally cleared… only one Duelist stood in the arena's center, card raised high.
In that moment, this victory was declared to the entire world…
Fusion Academy has ascended to the strongest throne!
