Leo stood near the hotel room window, one hand resting on his hip while the other held his phone against his ear. His gaze was fixed outside, empty but his mind was clearly somewhere else.
"So what's the result? Did you find anything?" he finally asked, his voice low and straight to the point.
On the other end, Sebastian let out a quiet breath before answering. "We're still looking. But so far… nothing clear."
Leo's brows immediately furrowed. "What do you mean nothing?"
"I mean, nothing obvious," Sebastian continued, his tone turning more serious. "No pills, no vials, nothing that directly shows Valerie was given something in that room."
Leo fell silent for a moment, his jaw tightening. His gaze dropped slightly as his mind worked, trying to piece together possibilities.
"Drinks?" he asked again. "Food? Nothing suspicious there?"
Sebastian paused briefly before replying, "Already checked. The room's clean. Too clean, actually."
That didn't reassure Leo.
