"What's wrong? Are you already sleepy, Harumiko? It doesn't feel like you at all to go to bed this early!" Hiroshi said with a smile.
Harumiko shook her head with a grin and replied, "I can't help it! It's actually quite late now, and we walked around shopping all day long. I didn't really feel tired during the day, but now the exhaustion is hitting me all at once. I really want to get some good rest. Besides, we have to go to the Lake of Mirrors tomorrow, remember?"
Hiroshi nodded in understanding. Tomorrow was indeed the day they planned to visit the famous lake. He was still wondering if it would be crowded and what it would actually look like in person.
"Alright then. Let's go to sleep early tonight. We'll get a good night's rest, wake up tomorrow morning, have breakfast, and then head out there to have a great time!" Hiroshi said cheerfully.
Harumiko nodded gently. Lying under the covers felt incredibly comfortable. The room temperature was just perfect—nice and cool, ideal for summer. She imagined that in winter, they must have heating here, otherwise it would be freezing.
"It feels a bit strange... wearing just a bathrobe to sleep again with nothing underneath. It's kind of embarrassing. But I guess Hiroshi will be sleeping on the bed again tonight, right? That means I can hold him while I sleep. It just feels so safe and secure when I'm hugging him..." Harumiko thought to herself, her face turning slightly red as she looked at him.
Hiroshi slowly stood up and went into the bathroom to wash his face and brush his teeth. He didn't want to go to bed feeling oily and dirty. But right now, his mind was stuck on one big question: Should he sleep on the floor again, or would he be allowed to sleep on the bed tonight?
"This situation is really like something out of a drama! But honestly... I really do prefer sleeping on the bed. It's just so much more comfortable!" he thought as he splashed water on his face.
Back in the room, Harumiko was lying in bed, pulling the covers up to her nose, leaving only her eyes visible. She was staring blankly into space, and her cheeks were bright red.
"I wonder what fun things will happen tomorrow. We bought so many clothes today! Finally, I'll have something different to wear these next few days. Since it's summer, I bought lots of dresses and shorts. Now I can really dress up and look pretty like a fairy!" she thought happily, staring up at the ceiling.
Meanwhile, Hiroshi was taking his time in the bathroom, deliberately dragging things out. He really didn't want to go out and face that awkward moment of deciding where to sleep tonight.
"I'll just go out and sit on the floor first. If Harumiko tells me to come up to the bed, then I'll sleep there with her. But if she doesn't say anything... then I guess I'll just have to sleep on the floor again!" he whispered to himself with a nervous smile.
"Tomorrow is going to be another long day out. I'm actually a little worried. If we play in the morning and then take a break at noon before continuing in the afternoon, that would be okay. But if we have to walk around non-stop all day... I'm not sure my feet can take it! Shopping really is a superpower that only girls possess; we guys are just not built for it!" he thought while brushing his teeth, looking at his reflection in the mirror.
He was actually very excited to see the Lake of Mirrors though. Was it really as clear as the legends said? They said you could see your reflection perfectly, and even see all the way down to the bottom of the lake.
That meant the water must be incredibly transparent and clean. Just the fact that you could see the lakebed from the surface proved how pure and unpolluted it was.
"Oh well, I'll find out tomorrow. I'm sure there will be crowds of people there though. It is the most famous place in this entire village after all! Although the shops here are also really popular, most people are probably tourists who don't know much about the village yet."
Hiroshi spent quite a while cleaning himself up. He was very particular about keeping his teeth clean, always brushing thoroughly for several minutes every day.
"Finally done! Now I can go rest... on the floor, I mean!" he thought with a sigh, stretching his body as he slowly walked out of the bathroom.
