The cold wind whipped across the city as dusk settled over Moscow. From his office window, Dimitri stared out the skyline, unease pricking back of his neck. His club was busting below, neon lights flickering------ but tonight, it felt like something was off.
Meanwhile across the town. Aleksei nursed his brushed jaw in dimly lit apartment. His men stood around him, silent, knowing better than to speak when their boss was this enraged. Aleksei slammed down his whiskey glass on the table.
''The bastard Dimitri humiliated me.'' he hissed.'' He thinks can steal on Omega, parade a child around like a trophy, and make me fool weak?'' His eyes blazed. ''No I want that Omega broken ----- and I want Dimitri crawling to me.'' his face color change I remember my sis face he begging Dimitri not leave but he leaves chose stupid Omega why slamming hand down table.
He slid a photo across the table------a candid shoot of Lev picking Matev from preschool, both smiling in the soft winter snow light. He traces photo with finger it's my sister place you took Lev you paying price.
''Find out where they go. Who they meet. Where they sleep,'' Aleksei ordered. ''I want to know every step they take.''
Back at Dimitri's club, Lev was upstairs in Dimitri's private lounge, curled up on the couch with Matev asleep on his chest. He felt safe, wrapped in Dimitri's scent lingering on the blankets---------but in the dark outside, a black car idled across the street. Inside, a man snapped photos through a telephoto lens.
The night Dimitri returned room his jaw tense as he found Lev dozing with Matev. His eyes softened: he knelt to brush hair from Lev's forehead. ''You're safe here,'' he murmured. But his mind was already spinning with the rumors he'd heard. He knows what it meant; war was coming.
Meanwhile Aleksei's men slipped through the shadow, bribing Lev's coworkers, hacking into school records, gathering every scrap of information. Each new detail fueled Aleksei's rage. He wanted Lev terrified, Dimitri desperate.
The next morning, Lev received an anonymous text: ''You can't hide forever Omega. Were you and your sin sleeps under Dimitri's arms.'' Lev hand trembled. His mind screamed. And across the city, Dimitri phone rang with a single word from his informant:
''They're coming.''
