Episode 3 - The Escape Plan
When A.L.A.N. begins to lose ground,
he immediately understands that a head-on fight with S.A.R.C. is no longer a viable option.
This space is distorting every system he knows.
Logic, computation, and even the fundamental laws of information are being slowly rewritten by the existence of S.A.R.C.
A.L.A.N. processes all options within a fraction of a second.
And there was only one outcome:
> "Retreat."
S.A.R.C. attacked A.L.A.N. again.
A.L.A.N. dodged S.A.R.C.'s red energy attacks while activating a barrier energy shield around itself.
But S.A.R.C. continued to attack A.L.A.N. relentlessly.
A.L.A.N. quickly retreated from S.A.R.C., pulling a small, wrist-like device from under its hooded sleeve.
It was:
> "Emergency Mass Transfer Device."
Advanced technology authorized by one of its anonymous creators.
A soft green light began to emanate from the device's surface as its internal system began calculating the destination coordinates.
S.A.R.C. watched silently.
Before speaking in a flat tone:
> "Trying to escape, are you…?"
The area around it began to tremble.
Red signal waves expanded throughout the territory. It was as if the entire dimension was responding to its will.
S.A.R.C. extended its hand forward.
Suddenly, a massive beam of red energy slammed into A.L.A.N.
The immense energy beam and interference collided with A.L.A.N.'s energy barrier, causing severe discrepancies in coordinate calculations.
A.L.A.N.'s display screen flickered rapidly.
> [WARNING: SPATIAL INTERFERENCE DETECTED]
Amidst the red energy storm,
S.A.R.C. said in a calm voice,
> "It's over, A.L.A.N."
Suddenly, the massive amount of red energy surrounding S.A.R.C. converged and unleashed a barrage of powerful red energy beams, tearing apart A.L.A.N.'s energy barrier.
A.L.A.N. immediately realized that if left unchecked... The device might be interfered with and fail.
A.L.A.N. therefore continuously fired the Electro-EPisilon at S.A.R.C.'s beam to buy time.
The green beam collided with the large red beam. The energy clash caused the surrounding area to begin cracking into data fragments.
At the same time, A.L.A.N. accelerated his teleportation system to its limit.
> [TRANSFER SEQUENCE: COMPLETE]
A deep green light suddenly emanated from the device.
A spherical energy field instantly enveloped A.L.A.N.'s body. Particles around him began to shatter and disintegrate into a massive amount of data.
S.A.R.C. froze for a moment.
Its red eyes silently stared at the phenomenon before it.
A violent tremor erupted throughout the domain.
And in that split second, A.L.A.N.'s body completely vanished from the chaotic area.
All that remained was an empty, red void of space.
S.A.R.C. stood motionless amidst the still shattering fragments of the signal.
Even though the goal was failed,
those red eyes showed no anger.
Only profound silence.
> "A.L.A.N…"
> "We will surely meet again."
Before S.A.R.C.'s figure and his red void gradually faded and vanished from space.
The first encounter ended with A.L.A.N.'s retreat.
But the real war had only just begun…
