Chapter 42 - 42 System Distribution

Chronos had so many questions now.

The title section only had one title but after poking the transparent paper he found that he could hide the title if he wanted to.

However, what was up with this bloodline? And these skills too there were effects that he didn't remember them having, even in his family records!

Not to mention those bloodline abilities, those were totally broken and would make him near unstoppable in battle and they were just the rank one abilities! There had to be some sort of trade off, right?

Even the numbers next to his physique and spirit looked weird. Why did they have an additional number next to them?

Trying to keep himself from panicking he asked Hrólmir for help.

"Hey Hrólmir, is there something wrong with my status paper?"

Looking at the status screen Chronos offered him, Hrólmir seemed confused.

"Hmm no, there is nothing wrong and it is called a status screen. Ah, are you perhaps referring to the system points? Those were awarded for your achievement of closing the void space, your friends should have them too."

He didn't understand the problems that Chronos was concerned about.

"Not that! I get that you said it would tell us things about our skills and ourselves that we might not know, and I see that in the skill descriptions, but what is up with this bloodline? There are parts I can't read and aren't the bloodline abilities too strong? Also, my physique and spirit look wrong too." Chronos spoke so fast that he was stumbling over his words.

"Ah that, well all members of the Beklaedning clan have that bloodline but due to a battle in the past it is currently sealed. The seal prevents you from reading certain sections of it and..."

He looked like he was going to say more but something stopped him. Shaking his head he skipped what he was going to say and continued with explaining the stats.

"As for your physique and spirit, you are actually ridiculously powerful for your rank. You see the numbers for physique and spirit are based off of the standard of your race. This means that 1 point in physique is equal to the full power of a rank 1 elite athlete of your race if they maxed out all of their physical stats.

Since werewolves are twice as strong as humans an 8 means you are actually 16 times stronger than the full strength of an elite rank 1 human athlete. Normal beastfolk are only 1.5 times stronger than a human and usually their spirit stat suffers in exchange for the stronger physique."

That gave Chronos a good baseline to go off of. For example, an elite rank 1 human athlete could lift roughly half a ton of weight multiplying that by 16 meant that Chronos should be able to lift 10.5 tons of weight.

Hmm!? Wasn't that a bit too strong! Well, Hrólmir did say he was ridiculously strong for his rank.

"Ok but how am I so strong? And what do you mean "for my rank"?" Chronos asked Hrólmir.

"It has to do with your bloodline, that bloodline has the effect of boosting your constitution, but your bloodline is sealed so the second number represents the total if you unseal it. Which reminds me, I need to add a constitution section for people like you. It will take me a while to add it so you will just have to deal with partial information until then."

Hrólmir looked quite satisfied after finding a flaw in his system so soon. Chronos wondered if he was making this system his life's goal and why? But he knew better than to ask as that knowledge was far beyond his current rank.

"As for rank progression, at Rank One the maximum Physique stat is capped at 1 point, and that maximum doubles with each subsequent rank. Under normal circumstances, this growth remains bound by the limits of one's race, since the system measures potential relative to racial standards and normally exceeding those limits is not possible.

In your case, however, you possess a unique constitution that causes your maximum stat cap to double again at each rank. As you continue to unseal your bloodline, this amplification may become even more pronounced."

As Hrólmir finished his explanation he suddenly remembered another important subject he felt he should mention.

"Also, the physique stat is a combination of the three lower stats of strength, endurance, and agility. In the same manner the spirit stat is a combination of mind and soul. These two stats affect how many magic spells or powerful techniques an individual can cast but I don't have enough data to estimate how much they affect magic and aura." Hrólmir explained.

Pondering on his status he understood most of it, but he still had one more question that needed answering.

"What about this master, skilled, and initiate next to my skills, what do they mean?"

"Those are the mastery levels. If you are only at the initiate stage, you can use it in combat with difficulty, at the skilled stage it becomes easy to use in combat, and at the master rank it is as easy as flexing your arm. You barely need to think about it, in addition to that if you have reached master level you can alter the technique or spell to match your fighting style.

Before master rank it is incredibly difficult to alter a spell or technique and usually results in failure."

As everyone looked at his status screen, they were very impressed.

Even though they barely understood the status and didn't have another point of reference yet, the great strength, mastery of skills and sheer number of skills was enough for them to understand some of Chronos' power.

"Actually 13 skills with most of them being at the master stage is amazing at your age. Even amongst the higher races only geniuses are capable of such a feat." Hrólmir commented as he read each of the skills in the skill list.

A proud smile lit up Chronos' face while Gregory and Lyla looked at each other with some concern. In that moment they had a mutual understanding that if Chronos started having a big ego from this they would have to smack some sense into him.

Seeing how helpful a system was, Gregory, Sariah, and Lyla decided that they wanted a system too.

"All of us would like to have a system. Do you still have time to cast that spell three more times?" Lyla asked.

"Actually, it is a world class spell, meaning that now that it has been cast once it has become a part of the world. Only a spell on the same level could remove it, as for spreading it Chronos just needs to send you a message and you need to accept. Once that is done you will also have access to the system."

Hrólmir spoke with great enthusiasm. The pride he felt at having created such a useful system was practically overflowing.

"I see, then if I do this and this, then this and that. There we go, did you three receive my message?" Chronos asked after tapping on his screen.

A small ding sounded in each of their ears as a small message notification appeared in front of them.

Tapping on it the message alerted them that Chronos had a letter for them and asked if they were willing to receive a system to answer it.

Tapping on yes, a loading screen promptly materialized with a 0 on it. Rising swiftly, it looked like they could obtain a system once it was finished but that would still be 10 to 15 minutes from now.

"As happy as I would be to stick around and look at each of your systems, I'm afraid that I cannot stay any longer. If you need anything from me or have suggestions for changes to the system, please send me a message. I've already added myself to each of your contacts lists."

Hrólmir seemed a bit sad that he had to leave before their systems were active. It would have been much more fun to stay and see their expressions as they found out that they already had a gift from clearing the void space.

Placing the world crystal he had tied the system to onto the ground it was absorbed back into the world. That would ensure that it could be spread anywhere and not just within the area of the crystal.

Waving goodbye, Hrólmir opened a portal to an unknown location and stepped through. Looking at each other, they could hardly believe what had just happened to them.

"How do we tell others about this? Nobody is going to believe us and if we try to spread the system randomly some noble will try to capture us to make it exclusive to them." Sariah pointed out.

"I was going to give it to the Dragon Church and let them spread it. I assume you're going to do the same with the Tri-Goddess Church Lyla."

Lyla nodded at Chronos' suggestion.

"I don't want to be made into a saintess or some such nonsense. I would much rather be travelling with all of you."

While they had been trapped inside of the void they had explained to Lyla that they were travelling in order for Chronos to escape early responsibility and didn't really have a destination in mind.

While they discussed what to do with the system another ding sound alerted them that it was finished loading.
