The two then met, a short minute later, after running through bushes covered in the vines, that slightly stung the two of them on contact.
Looking at the man up close. The man was barefooted, and had on a black robe that was also made out of the same plant-like material that resembled leather that the boy wore. The man's black hair was disheveled as if he had just woken up from sleep, and his constant out of breath wheezing showed that he had just ran a great distance barefooted.
After the two met, the man couldn't help but fall to the ground in exhaustion, before pulling the boy standing before him closer.
He then said to the boy. "Child, I need to tell you something. Please listen carefully, it's very important."
Hearing his words, although confused, the boy quickly took a couple deep breaths to calm his slightly tired body, before nodding along. He then sat down next to the man, and listened to his words.
"I don't have much time, but I'll try to be quick. You know I never told you anything about your mother right? Well, the reason why is because your mother was our future chief priestess." The man said, quickly. But after speaking those words, he couldn't help but let out a deep and sorrowful sigh, before continuing with his speech.
"It all started after your grandparents died. You see, decades ago, your grandparents who were great templars within our Holy Emerald Wisdom Church were caught practicing witchcraft.
And sadly their crimes were too great for their position to protect them from, so they were stripped of their powers and murdered by the Council of Holy Wisdom." He said tearfully, as he looked into the eyes of the boy in front of him.
After taking a moment to catch his breath, and clear the tears from his eyes, he continued sorrowfully. "After their death, I could no longer continue my pursuits in the church, and decided to come back to our home here in this backwards town, in order to accompany the grave of your grandparents till my dying days.
But my twin brother, your uncle, was not the same. He continued forth on his tutelage within our Holy Emerald Wisdom Church, and rose in ranks with renewed vigor."
After speaking those words, he then paused to look around carefully multiple times, hoping no one was eavesdropping before he continued in soft whispers.
