Cherry didn't refuse Elijah's offer. She honestly didn't have the strength to argue. Quietly, she held onto his arm as they walked toward the elevator.
Meanwhile, Knox happened to be passing by on his way back to his room. He'd forgotten something. But when he caught sight of Cherry and Elijah walking together, arms linked, a deep frown settled on his face.
If Gilbert hadn't made me delete her account, Knox thought bitterly. I could've been the one holding her now.
Without wasting time, he turned around and headed straight back to the pool, where Gilbert was still sitting.
"Bro, I just saw that intern with some guy, they went up together," Knox told him, his face dark.
On the eighteenth floor, Elijah accompanied Cherry until they reached the door.
"Thank you, Brother Elijah. You should go back to work. I'll just rest here," Cherry said with a weak smile.
