POV Roum
I sat against the wall for a long time after vomiting.
His breathing had finally returned to a normal rhythm, but his hands were still trembling slightly. He stared at the ground with a completely blank expression, unable to banish the voices that continued to echo in his head.
Ela.
Her eyes close.
– Stop…
The word barely left my mouth, her lips were chapped and her complexion turned pale.
He gave the impression of talking to someone, reaching his hand into the void to grasp something.
A voice?
Memories?
Who ?
Perhaps all three at once.
He let his hand fall heavily and shuffled miserably on all fours, his legs were so weak that they kept trembling and slipping under his weight, probably because he had barely kept any of my last meal.
I don't want to sleep.
It had become the only thing I was certain of.
Each time I woke up, it hurt even more than the last; it was like someone was having fun hitting every bone in my body.
He went back into the main room and sat me down on the floor, my back against the bed.
The food was still there, but he stared.
the plate for a long time.
He gradually leaned towards the table and took the plate.
It was lukewarm.
He plunges his large hand into the container and churns out all the contents before smashing them against the cameras his AI assistant possesses.
– How do you do that?
His voice was barely lost in the room.
He remained like that for several seconds before smashing the dish against a wall.
– I'm hot…
No response.
He picked up a piece of the plate and hit it harder with it.
– I said: It's hot…
I had never been particularly patient, I knew that this door was not likely to open so I would prefer to have a little more freedom inside.
His body gave out and he simply collapsed in the middle of the room.
Then it all starts again.
When he woke up everything was clean and tidy, he even found himself lying in his bed surrounded by new sheets and an IV drip in his arm.
I jump out of bed and rip out the IV drip, it was already empty, I throw the tripod away which accidentally hit the mirror and cracked it.
– They'll put it away anyway.
I stopped in front of that half of the mirror.
I had almost never watched it.
I looked up.
The face facing me seemed to belong to someone else.
I've lost weight.
My hair was longer than before and my features had lost that usual appearance that I still recognized as my own.
I placed a hand against a piece of mirror and pulled it towards me.
– Roum.
I said my own name out loud.
I didn't know why.
But a voice answered me
I jumped and knocked over the piece of mirror.
I immediately withdrew my hand.
I hope he didn't see me.
At least, I assumed so.
My eyes gradually began to feel heavy.
I resisted.
I get up, walk.
I started doing push-ups until my arms became sore, then simple exercises to keep my body moving.
I repeated this several times, solely to prevent this strange fatigue from taking over.
It worked for a while.
Then my legs started to tremble.
I leaned against the wall and bit my arm, clenching my teeth tightly.
I didn't want to close my eyes.
Again.
I slip
That feeling had become so familiar.
The fall into darkness.
I raised my arms towards the door.
– haaa.....
