"Is it… preparing the Dungeon?" Homura initially wondered but soon understood: "Perhaps it's due to the imminent appearance of Walpurgisnacht."
Meanwhile, Winged Lion, continuously expanding the Dungeon from Mitakihara City's center, had been lazily resting until its magic fully covered Mitakihara Middle School. At that moment, it suddenly opened its eyes.
"A previously undiscovered Witch Barrier?" Under Winged Lion's limitless magical coverage, the entirety of Mitakihara Middle School fell under its control. Surprisingly, it discovered a Witch Barrier hidden beneath the school.
Just as Winged Lion prepared to inform Kairo Retsu and have a hunter deal with this Witch, its magic probed further into the barrier, observing the situation inside.
Within the barrier, scattered scales had nearly filled the entire space, turning it into a breeding ground for the Frenzy Virus.
At the center of the Witch's Barrier, the Witch lay immobilized. A dragon, completely black with golden scales on its forehead and right wing, gripped the Witch firmly with claws and teeth, pinning it down with its entire body.
However, the dragon bore terrible wounds, uncontrollable scales shedding from its body, fortunately trapped within the barrier, preventing their escape.
"Hm?"
Upon noticing this, Winged Lion initially intended to casually inform Kairo Retsu. But as it prepared to shift its attention, a sudden hunger rose within it.
Previously lying under the dimensional rift awaiting Dungeon coverage of the entire Mitakihara City, Winged Lion stood, its throat involuntarily moving.

Therefore, Winged Lion swiftly located Kairo Retsu, informing him—who was currently assisting the Felynes with mechanical parts—about the undiscovered Witch Barrier beneath Mitakihara Middle School and the dying Chaotic Gore Magala within.
"Under Madoka's school?" Kairo Retsu paused, exchanging glances with a nearby Felyne.
"Uh… you didn't investigate Madoka's school?" Kairo Retsu, carrying heavy mechanical parts, scratched his head as he asked.
"Because Guildmaster and other hunters went there, nya," the nearby Felyne replied to Kairo Retsu. "And now, it has the most hunters, nya!"
"Uh…" Kairo Retsu's words got stuck.
In a sense, Mitakihara Middle School indeed housed the most hunters currently.
But the problem was, those hunters were all rookies! He had sent the rookies there to study, not investigate. The main goal was to involve them in missions gradually and help them understand hunters' responsibilities.
Yet, unexpectedly, Chaotic Gore Magala had hidden itself within the school's underground Witch Barrier!

Despite being a monster, the Chaotic Gore Magala had already demonstrated intelligence during the earlier fight against Shagaru Magala.
It had no intention to spread disaster nor harm nature.
Its powerful will, surpassing its instincts, had guided it towards actions beyond its nature.
Though unable to alter the Chaotic Gore Magala's doomed fate, Kairo Retsu still wished for a less tragic end for this "comrade" who had once fought alongside him.
From Winged Lion, Kairo Retsu learned that Chaotic Gore Magala was near death, unable even to contain its Frenzy Virus. Its internal energies continued to clash violently, tearing apart its unnatural body.
If possible, Kairo Retsu felt giving Chaotic Gore Magala a swift end might be kinder.
"But Altair probably wouldn't accept that," Kairo Retsu lowered his eyes. "And neither would I…"
After a brief silence, Kairo Retsu said decisively, "Then before Walpurgisnacht arrives, let's visit this 'Hero' once."
