Linda, caught off guard, shrugs before answering. "I'm a different kind of mother than you, Catherine. You shouldn't compare yourself with anyone."
"Then why am I out of line while Helena gets the praise? Is it because she is ready to see her son die and I'm not?" Catherine snarls at me, and Cyrus tenses beside me.
"Careful, Catherine! She is your Luna. Watch your tone. Besides, Lyra isn't wrong." Cyrus warns Catherine while defending me, his gaze sharp enough to cut.
"Cyrus, you too? You think I'm in the wrong here for worrying about the curse that's looming over my daughter like death? Catherine's voice breaks as her eyes fill with tears.
Tristan sighs dejectedly before he addresses Cyrus again. "Catherine isn't wrong on that, Cyrus. She is just being a mother."
"She isn't wrong for fearing her daughter's death. But answer me this, Catherine, who are you to the pack?" Cyrus doesn't soften his voice.
Catherine blinks confusedly and wipes her tears. "I'm a doctor."
