Chapter 401:
March 15th.
Hayashi Kaede wasn't sure if Arcanine's love story had begun yet, but Salamence and Dragonite's strength had gradually stabilized over these past few days.
Currently, Salamence and Dragonite's energy levels had stabilized at 87-88 and 84-85 respectively.
Today, Hayashi Kaede found some time to check out their training spot, wanting to see the changes in the two Pokémon after consuming the Ocean Current Dual-Flavor Hot Pot.
He didn't expect to be so startled by what he saw.
To prevent causing too much of a disturbance, Kaede first asked Salamence to use only about half its energy.
But even at half power, it was astonishing.
Clouds gathered, winds stirred. The entire sea for dozens of kilometers around seemed to be caught in a churning inversion. The sky, originally clear and sunny, turned as black as ink. Clouds layered naturally, accumulating moisture, which then poured down as a torrential rain.
According to Salamence, it felt as if it could control the energy of the surrounding sea.
But this control lasted only a short time.
This shocked Hayashi Kaede thoroughly.
Sitting on Dragonite's back, he hurriedly shouted, "Okay, okay, that's enough!"
Only then did the clouds, mist, and waves slowly subside.
"Salamence!"
Salamence flapped its wings and flew over to Dragonite.
"You haven't been using this power recklessly on the ocean, have you?" Hayashi Kaede asked with some trepidation, still seated on Dragonite.
The waves stirred up by Salamence just now had sent the Pokémon in the waters below frantically scattering, as if wishing they had an extra pair of fins.
Such a commotion, if unleashed at full power, would not only attract human attention but might also draw the notice of Legendary Pokémon in the sky or sea.
"Salamence." Salamence shook its head vigorously. This was the first time it had unleashed such a wide-ranging "ocean current" power.
Dragonite nodded in agreement.
"That's good,"
Hayashi Kaede remembered his instructions when Salamence left: whether familiarizing themselves with their power or battling, they must not affect other ecosystems or cause damage to them.
It seemed Salamence had followed this well.
The test results had even startled Salamence itself.
However, it did have some impact on this area of the sea.
Now, what they needed to do was leave the vicinity quickly, so the fish and Pokémon below wouldn't be afraid to return.
"Alright, alright, let's head back first."
Kaede didn't proceed with testing Dragonite's power. Instead, he called out and scattered some Energy Cube crumbs into the sea to attract the Pokémon that had been driven away back to the area.
Then, the two Pokémon flapped their wings and flew towards the coast.
On this now calm stretch of sea, the abnormal weather didn't worry the fish for long. Within a minute or two, the aquatic Pokémon that had fled began to slowly catch the refreshing scent and swim back.
The first to return were a school of Luvdisc, which had fled the slowest and now returned the fastest. They dispersed around, searching for the Energy Cube crumbs.
Then, various Water-type Pokémon swam over.
The entire sea area seemed to return to its calm state. In fact, attracted by the Energy Cubes, even more Pokémon gathered nearby.
Among these Pokémon, one swimming in the center was particularly conspicuous. Its overall color was snow-white, its body stood over ten meters tall. It had giant, wing-like hands, dark blue horn-like structures near its eyes, and a dark blue dorsal fin. The skin on its belly, however, was light blue.
It swam in the middle. Upon reaching the spot where Hayashi Kaede had been, it actually rose into the air.
It looked in the direction Dragonite had flown, a strange glint in its eyes.
(*This power... why does it feel so familiar...*)
Lugia was puzzled, but it didn't fly off to investigate. Instead, it turned back to the sea, descended, and finally found a relatively large crumb of Energy Cube...
....
"Phew... Amazing, simply amazing!"
The moment he dismounted from Salamence, Hayashi Kaede couldn't help but praise its power.
The latter sheepishly scratched its head with a claw, but soon lifted its head, its eyes burning as it looked at Hayashi Kaede.
"Okay, it's time now. Wait for me to find someone to help us~" Hayashi Kaede naturally understood Salamence's thoughts now. He patted its head and reassured it, "You two go get something to eat first~"
"Groar~!"
The two Pokémon nodded.
They had landed in the garden. Gardevoir happened to come out of the kitchen and, hearing his conversation with the two Pokémon, came over.
"Gardevoir?" (When are you planning to go?)
As the manager of big and small matters in the household, it was basically aware of every Pokémon's affairs.
So, it naturally knew about Salamence's plan for revenge.
But that organization sounded powerful.
That was quite evident.
After all, Mewtwo was originally created by them.
This couldn't help but make Gardevoir worried.
"Within the next couple of days. It happens to be the weekend, so it's a good time to announce a break on the video channel. We won't open on weekends from now on; no need to stay in the kitchen every day," Hayashi Kaede replied.
Since the Pokémon League Conference and this year's New Year, the Breeding House had gotten much busier.
The busiest among them were undoubtedly Gardevoir, the Indeedee siblings, Pidgeot, and the others.
They basically had work every day.
Now that they had earned enough money, it was time to rest when needed and have fun properly.
Hayashi Kaede planned to work five days and rest two.
He'd just treat weekends as holidays, allowing more time for his Pokémon to interact with him.
This was also part of the reason why the League officially limited the number of Pokémon a new Trainer could catch.
Because catching too many Pokémon meant each one needed emotional care. New Trainers were already caring for Pokémon for the first time; taking on too many at once would make it hard to attend to each Pokémon's feelings.
"Gardevoir..." (Alright, but I'm going too.)
Gardevoir wasn't particularly concerned about things like holidays, but it was determined to go for this matter.
"Mm-hmm, of course."
Hayashi Kaede nodded.
Gardevoir was definitely coming! After all, currently, Gardevoir's strength was arguably the highest, aside from Mewtwo's.
And it could even Mega Evolve!
As for now...
"Alright, I need to get some wine and pay a visit to Giratina. I hope it can help!"
