The reason Kizaru in particular is such a nuisance on the battlefield was also the reason why he would be the one sent to try and get the celestial dragons back, his speed. The man practically required you to have at least future sight level observation haki to fight him or he was nearly untouchable. This sort of speed let him harass the people fighting without worrying about retaliation. The only way to stop him from doing that was taking him out of the equation entirely like my plan would. Or having a strong pirate from Whitebeards side go on a rampage against the weak marines forcing the admiral to stop them or risk catastrophic losses.
The whole point of this little war was to show the world the world government and marines power. Kinda defeats the purpose if they are left virtually crippled once it's over from most of their weaker members taken from around the globe being dead. As for why I was confident that Kizaru would be forced to go play rescuer for the celestial dragons? Precedent. The government had been for some reason presenting the dragons as "untouchable gods" and if someone, even during a war, got away with messing with them it would shatter this image irreversibly.-
They'd be livid at the blatant trap but would have no choice but to walk right in anyways as a result. Whitebeard agreed with my plan as well and told me he'd already sent his fastest ship for the box of energy steroids. At most I'd get them in two days, one if there were no delays. Thanks to knowing that I wasn't going to go bother Snape quite yet. There was frankly no point if I didn't have the steroids in hand after all.-
I relaxed and took it easy for the next couple days after playing a "mysterious disappearing" act to make it look like I had to slip out to pass off the goods to Whitebeard. Dumbledore looked sorely tempted to try and tail me again but clearly remembered how that had failed last time and didn't this time. He did however eye the sack I came back with that was some gold bars I got from Whitebeard to recuperate the wealth I had to spend on his behalf. The man knew how to repay his debts if nothing else so I still walked away from this affair richer than I started.-
Mike and Terry were beyond curious about what I had in the sack but I put the bars away and said it was private. I mean I could show them but honestly it was probably best if I didn't. I didn't want jealousy or greed to ruin the literal only two friendships I had in this world. I mean maybe the golden trio counted to some degree since they'd been trying to not so subtly cozy up to me after the whole troll fiasco but that was kinda one sided on their part.-
I wasn't like shunning them or anything but I wasn't going out of my way to hang around them like I do Mike or Terry. Still finally I did get the ornate box of gold and whatever the metal that let it not rust to pieces by being in fishman island so long. The blue and red checkered pills were not very big, a quarter inch at most, but I knew even one was a potent thing. The effect was a complete doubling of physical power to whoever took one in exchange for their lifespan.-
This effect was also cumulative so the more you took the more strength you got but at the same time the more life you burned. The pills embodied the phrase "the candle that burns twice as bright burns half as long". With the box in hand I made my way towards the dungeons where Snape was brewing draught of living death. I had the box and the various ingredients I hoped would work to counteract the pills in my spare undetectable extension bag to keep from drawing too many questions. The fact I kept both bags tucked into my robes out of sight also helped.-
I waited outside the door for a good moment to knock without ruining the brewing process when I finally arrived in the dungeon before knocking.
"Enter." Snapes voice spoke from beyond the door crisply and layered with clear annoyance.
I pushed open the door and walked in.
"Finally worked up the nerve to come bother me for your no doubt inane request Mr. Drake?" Snape asked with a disdainful expression.
"I see Dumbledore has told you what little he actually knows. Not that it's much since if he actually knew why I require your skill with potioneering you'd never call my commission inane." I said with a shake of my head and produced the treasure box filled with pills.
"An ornate box? I assume you are bothering me because of the contents within?" he asked with a scowl as he approached and flipped the lid. "Muggle medicines? You must be more touched in the head than the headmaster if you think this is something I'd deign to waste my time on." he said scathingly.
"Do you know what this medicine does though? Because I can assure you it's anything but mundane." I said challengingly.
He scoffed and sneered but pulled out a pill and passed it under his nose with a focused look. His expression narrowed in confusion and deep curiosity before also reluctantly putting the pill back in the box.-
"Consider my attention piqued. Explain, now." he said firmly with no room for argument.
So I told him everything I knew about the energy steroids and what my actual commission was as I presented the bag with the bolstering ingredients.
