Chapter 217 - TOA 217: The Core of the Singularity

Artemis descended, her true divine form manifesting in this place. With her arrival, the power of the moon converged around her, enveloping her presence. Her mere existence began to alter the surroundings.

For instance, the concentration of magical energy surged, as if transforming the area into one from the Age of Gods.

Morpheus reached out, gently grasping the Moon Goddess's hand, and smiled. "Looks like my preparations paid off. I finally summoned you safely."

Artemis curiously surveyed the surroundings, then examined the magical circle used for her summoning, her expression one of surprise. "This place is unique. Did you build this temple specifically for summoning divine power?"

"Exactly. It's a place I created for channeling the power of gods," Morpheus nodded. He erased the magical circle on the floor, checked the temple's structure to ensure no issues, and then led her outside. "Come on, let me show you around Chaldea."

Artemis immediately perked up. "Great! I've been eager to see what kind of marvel humans have created. Perhaps something that rivals our past divine forms."

Morpheus could tell Artemis was genuinely excited about exploring Chaldea. For the Greek gods, whose original forms were technological constructs, visiting a place like Chaldea... infused with advanced technology... must feel like meeting a kindred spirit.

As they reached the door and opened it, they saw several figures waiting outside. Artemis gave a gentle wave. "Long time no see."

Medea rushed forward, happily linking arms with her. "You're finally here!"

The gesture carried the warmth of close friends.

Jeanne Alter, less familiar with Artemis, offered a simple greeting. Ritsuka, however, stared curiously, prompting Artemis to ask, "Is there something on me?"

Ritsuka immediately asked, "Are you really here in your true form?"

"Indeed, I am in my true divine form. There is no Artemis on the Reverse Side of the World right now," Artemis confirmed, causing Ritsuka's eyes to widen. "You actually summoned a god's true form!"

Summoning a Servant's Saint Graph was already astonishing to Ritsuka, but Morpheus summoning a god's true form was an unprecedented miracle in human... or rather, magus... history!

No, this wasn't even a miracle!

The summoning of Servants was already considered a miracle. A true divine summoning transcended that, entering the realm of myth!

Was the Golden Dawn's summoning magic really this powerful?

Morpheus summoned avatars of the four great archangels regularly. If his power grew further, could he summon their true forms?

"I can do that now," Morpheus said, as if reading Ritsuka's thoughts.

She froze, then asked, "You mean you can summon the true forms of the archangels?"

Morpheus nodded. "Yes. At my current 7=4 grade, I've reached the peak before entering the divine realm. If needed, I could summon an archangel's true form. But doing so might destroy this world."

He spread his hands. "So, for the sake of the world, I won't."

The Nasuverse universe isn't infinite but finite. The presence of an archangel, with mass equivalent to an infinite universe, would tear the world apart. It wouldn't be a catastrophe like Tiamat's... it would be a full-blown cosmic crisis.

Morpheus rubbed his chin. "Does that make me a threat to the entire universe?"

Ritsuka's face darkened, though she silently marveled.

No wonder he was a Golden Dawn magician. With a single effort, he could unleash power thousands, billions, or even infinitely greater. Goetia burned all of human history to gather energy, yet it suddenly felt like all that effort paled compared to a magician's path…

In that moment, she almost pitied Goetia, the current grand villain.

Then Morpheus remembered something. "Oh, Artemis, rein in your overflowing power. Ritsuka can handle it, but others can't withstand Age of Gods-level magical energy. It could poison them."

Artemis immediately complied, retracting her excess power. The environment, which had been shifting under her influence, returned to normal, and the magical energy concentration dropped to its usual level.

The group arrived at Chaldea's core area, where CHALDEAS resided.

Gazing at the star-like orb, Artemis's eyes lit up. Resisting the urge to touch the hidden Chaldean power core within, she exclaimed, "Incredible! You've encapsulated the primal power of Chaos here!"

A miniature model woven from moonlight appeared beside her, beginning to reverse-engineer the core of the Spiritron Calculation Device, as if trying to uncover its secrets.

Morpheus said, "The Singularity Core. Though I think 'Micro Black Hole Core' might be more fitting... a pure naked singularity. Chaldea doesn't have the capability for that. I'm not too familiar with degenerate matter theories, but I bet another guy could make this place safer and more efficient."

He was, of course, referring to Academy City's chairman, Aleister Crowley. If Aleister were in Chaldea, there'd likely be far fewer problems.

Though, he might also destroy the entire magecraft tradition, leaving the future world no longer the domain of magi.

"Yes, a black hole... a supermassive micro black hole. The technique to capture and stabilize it is impressive. No wonder Chaldea can interfere with time. It's all built on this core," Artemis said, her face full of admiration, like a parent whose child exceeded expectations with stellar results.

"Though its output is small, technologically, this power core surpasses Chaos's. If humanity continues to develop, they could create constructs far beyond my true form... or even Zeus's."

At that moment, the communicator crackled, and Da Vinci's voice came through: "Warning! SHEBA has detected a 0.3-second slowdown in Earth's rotation!"

Morpheus laughed, flicking the distorted projection. "Just a tidal locking effect from the Moon Goddess's true form. I'll take her for a couple of laps in the opposite direction to counteract it. But you're right... I need to have her retract not just her lunar power but her divine concept as well."

Artemis pouted. "I'll take a few laps in the opposite direction to restore it, then I'll retract my lunar concept."

"Thanks for the trouble."

"The Earth now is so different from the past. Back then, I could walk the land without causing issues like this," Artemis said, dutifully walking in the opposite direction. After confirming the rotation speed was restored, she withdrew her lunar divinity.

Morpheus nodded lightly but fell into thought.

"What's on your mind?" Artemis asked.

He looked at CHALDEAS in the core area, speaking gravely. "If we modified the core, or even implanted the Tree of Life into it, could we make all of Chaldea a special domain?"

Artemis tilted her head. "A special domain?"

"Using the Tree of Life as a foundation to create new domains, splitting Chaldea into two... one as it is now, and another as a phase built on it. That phase could potentially contain all the unique environments caused by Chaldea's singularities."

Morpheus explained but then shook his head.

"Just a theory. I can't be sure it'd work. My only creation experience is the Lion King's world... a basic phase, relying on the Holy Lance's power."

"If I were just an ordinary true god, I'd say it's impossible. But I have data from my true form. Based on that, your idea might actually be feasible. Why do you want to create a phase for Chaldea? To contain future Singularities?"

"No. Singularities can't be preserved. They're errors in time's progression... once corrected, they vanish. Even if moved to a phase, it'd be a copy, not the original."

Morpheus shook his head, recalling the later Fate/Grand Order plot. He didn't remember much, only that many worlds meant to be pruned suddenly reappeared.

By normal progression, those trying to usurp the proper timeline should be destroyed for survival's sake. But preserving those worlds in phases might be a good alternative.

That way, Earth could follow its proper timeline, while those otherwise-doomed worlds could have a chance to persist.

"No rush, though. I'll take it slow, gain more experience, and see if I can glean some knowledge for free," Morpheus said with a grin.

Artemis immediately grew wary. "What are you planning now?!" This was the man who once dragged her to fight Typhon... a reckless daredevil!

Morpheus smiled faintly. "Summon a creation goddess to see if she can offer some advice."

"You!" Artemis's eyes widened. With her knowledge of Morpheus, the creation goddess he meant wasn't someone like Chaos or any deity she knew.

"You have a maternal and feminine aspect. You have to help me this time. If I successfully summon the Primordial Shakti Goddess, I'll gain high-level magical knowledge, part of the world's truth, and a deeper understanding of creation.

"That way, my Spark of Creation could level up. In the future, a single spark might tear the entire world apart!"

"Are you insane?!" Artemis glared at him, stunned by his audacity. "The Primordial Shakti Goddess is the supreme Shakti of the Trimurti, and you plan to summon her here?"

Morpheus looked surprised. "You know about her?"

"Of course I do!" Artemis huffed, tapping his head. "Thanks to the memories you shared, I've gained some knowledge. That's why I'm worried. This Shakti is entirely different from the one I know."

"I know… The Supreme Shakti transcends singular divinity, uniting all goddess authorities... a primal force of cosmic creation and destruction, the fundamental energy driving the universe."

Morpheus smiled, looking relaxed.

"But don't worry. I've got this. I summoned Shiva last time."

Artemis fell silent, staring at him for a long moment before saying, "You summoned Shiva... not the one I know, right?"

Morpheus nodded.

Artemis took a deep breath, realizing just how reckless the man before her was.

"But that wasn't my fault. The summoning was too successful. I meant to summon this world's Shiva, but I got the mythical one. Still, it was a blessing in disguise... I gained a lot of knowledge. Though I'm only at 7=4, much of that knowledge will remain useful as I advance.

"If I successfully summon the Primordial Shakti this time and fill in my knowledge gaps, I could channel higher-tier power even at 7=4."

Seeing Artemis still hesitant, Morpheus added, "Really, no need to worry. I won't summon her true form... just an avatar. I'll reinforce the temple to withstand universe-level attacks. If the summoning fails, we'll have enough time to interrupt it and prevent any accidents."

Seeing Morpheus's confidence, Artemis sighed. "Fine. But I'm staying for the whole thing. If anything goes wrong, I have the right to stop it immediately."

Morpheus nodded eagerly. "Deal, no problem!"
