Chapter 129 - Cap.117 - Bloodshed Land Officer

(Carroll's POV)

-Sir, the Mountain Sword tribe is nearby, the operation is about to begin, should I give the signal?- A subordinate resembled a lizard with wings and a tail, dressed in heavy gray combat armor.

Not only him, but there were several other soldiers with different armor, with all sorts of bestial appendages, they were part of the Tyrant Heber's group of a Thousand Beastly Soldiers.

Carroll, a lean man with an androgynous face, wore silver armor, a much more technological and advanced version than his subordinate's, he looked like a true space warrior.

A faint smile lingered on his face as he gazed at the distant tribe. The tribe itself lived in trees and various warriors wielding spears and riding all sorts of beasts patrolled the territory, but Carroll paid no attention to any of them.

He discovered that this tribe, which had a large concentration of Maktru in its camp, possessed some advanced scouting devices. He quickly identified what it was, a large golden statue of a deity in the center of the village. The metal had been reforged with others, creating an alloy, but according to the scanner, at least 10% of the statue was made of Maktru.

That statue weighed at least a ton, 10% of that would be 100 kilograms of Maktru!

As soon as he found out about this through his subordinates, he rushed to this place, unfortunately... there are Grade A Supers here.

Not just one.

The tribe leader is a Grade A Pugilist and according to information, the leader's daughter is a Grade A Esper.

This led to the problem at hand, with so much Maktru, he could create an extremely powerful armor, the peak of Grade A, his standing in the Land of Bloodshed would also increase.

But the problem was also evident, he could ask other officers for help, but then he would have to divide the spoils, he wanted everything. Therefore, he could only use his intelligence to deal with these natives.

A direct attack would leave clear evidence, this type of large tribe has ties to some foreign groups and if he goes too far, not even Heber will be able to protect him.

Either he would hand him over, or he would risk offending universal civilizations. Knowing Heber, he would hardly do that for a subordinate like Carroll.

So Carroll devised a plan.

-Give the signal.- Carroll ordered with a cold smile.

As soon as he asked, the subordinate pressed a button on a metal device and a small light began to flash red.

On the other side, seeing the signal, various figures of all shapes in gray armor began to move in a clearing filled with various creatures that looked like a mix of rhinoceroses and monkeys, but with brownish scales instead of fur, sleeping comfortably.

But comfort soon gave way to panic.

BOOOOM

A tremendous shockwave was heard through the forest, in the center of the clearing, several buried explosive devices exploded everywhere. The roar was accompanied by heavy, panicked footsteps, making the earth tremble.

The group's leader, as big as a house, roared with all his might, confused, trying to find where the enemies were coming from.

The group had thousands of members, each with at least Grade C strength, the strongest even reached Grade A!

Even if they weren't Supers, the strength of their species was more than enough to cause problems for most Supers, there were over 10 figures with Grade A strength.

Carroll's subordinates moved as soon as they saw the panicked group. While the leader of the pack tried to calm them down, they stealthily entered a cave on a nearby hillside. A series of small squeaks was heard. Inside, amidst soft leaves, dozens of babies resembling the group of "rhinoceros monkeys" were crying in panic at the noise.

The group raised their weapons and quickly shot them with tranquilizers, the noise died down speedily, then the soldiers grabbed the babies and ran away, clearly leaving a trail.

None of the adults noticed the event until a few minutes later, when a series of angry roars soon followed.

The whole flock mobilized, galloping away, knocking everything in their path, their eyes red with rage.

On Carroll's side, the soldiers had already arrived at the Mountain Sword Tribe. Carroll quickly placed the cubs in an airtight container to eliminate the smell and sound, but he took some of their blood and put it in a small scout robot, leading it to hide inside the Mountain Sword Tribe.

They quickly left, moving away and waiting in a safe place.

It didn't take long for the sound of heavy footsteps and roars to be heard from afar.

The Mountain Sword Tribe clearly heard the approach, and shocked, quickly went into combat mode. The warriors swiftly appeared, wielding spears that clearly had Maktru tips.

In the distance, Carroll looked at the spears and other weapons that Maktru possessed in small quantities, tempted, but he controlled himself. He had come here for a greater prize, he needed to take advantage of the chaos to steal the statue and escape quickly, without leaving any clues pointing to him.

The battle began as soon as the groups met, like high-level beasts, they possessed intelligence, but not much. Besides, the group was now completely consumed by rage, making an agreement impossible.

Thus, the Mountain Sword tribe could only fight. A tall, muscular Kandorian wielding a heavy mace emerged from the tribe and began to fight directly. He sent one of the strongest beasts flying, but the beast merely shook its head slightly in pain before becoming even angrier and charging again.

A female Kandorian also emerged, her body completely transformed into a deep metallic substance. She advanced alongside the man with equal audacity, but due to her metallic defense, she was even bolder, exchanging blow for blow.

The other warriors of the tribe also joined the attack, ready to sacrifice themselves for their people.

Carroll also moved at that moment.
