Chapter 420:
Sixteen chakra cores were divided into four groups of four and installed as thrusters at the base of the rocket. These carried Ōtsutsuki Isshiki, Kinshiki, Urashiki, and Momoshiki to the moon.
"So barren…"
Ōtsutsuki Urashiki looked around and commented.
"Let's hurry up and find Kaguya's seal…"
Ōtsutsuki Isshiki said as he scanned the surroundings.
The desolate, empty environment of the moon made Isshiki quite uncomfortable.
"Who are you?!"
A figure suddenly appeared above the four of them—it was none other than Ōtsutsuki Toneri, descendant of Ōtsutsuki Hamura, heir of the main family on the moon, and the failed pursuer of Hinata.
"Well, well, isn't this Ōtsutsuki Toneri?"
Urashiki replied in a mocking, sing-song tone. After all, he had met Toneri once before when he first visited the Shinobi World.
Staring at the bizarre-looking mutated beings before him, Toneri was certain it was his first time seeing them.
"Who exactly are you?!"
A dangerous chakra aura subtly flared from Toneri's body—a clear signal that he was ready to attack at any moment.
"Who are we?" Urashiki chuckled lightly and said as he looked at Toneri. "We're your kin. I'm Ōtsutsuki Urashiki."
"Ōtsutsuki Urashiki?!"
Toneri's expression turned to one of shock as he stared at the strange creature before him.
"The others are Ōtsutsuki Isshiki, Momoshiki, and Kinshiki."
Urashiki introduced his companions to Toneri one by one.
"How did you end up looking like this?!"
"That's right. We've abandoned the outdated forms of the Ōtsutsuki and evolved toward a higher race!" Urashiki declared as he looked at Toneri. "Toneri, would you like to join us? If we ask Lord Kuro-ō to grant you his favor, I'm sure he'll be happy to do so."
"I think I'll pass on that."
"Well, that's a shame."
Urashiki replied with a faux-disappointed expression.
"Stop wasting time with nonsense, Akka."
Isshiki glanced at Urashiki and spoke.
"Akka?"
"Ah, that's my new name now. Anyway, Toneri, could you tell us where Ōtsutsuki Kaguya is sealed?"
Urashiki looked at Toneri as he asked.
"What do you want with Kaguya?"
Toneri frowned slightly. The reason he remained on the moon—aside from watching over Hinata—was to guard Ōtsutsuki Kaguya.
"Of course, we want to release her and make her one of us," Urashiki replied as if it were the most natural thing in the world. "But judging by your expression, it seems you won't let us unseal her so easily."
As Urashiki finished speaking, Isshiki exchanged a glance with Kinshiki, prompting the latter to launch the first attack.
With a swing of his shadow axe, Kinshiki sent out a wave of golden light imbued with swirling dark energy.
"Tenseigan Chakra Mode!"
A brilliant green chakra aura enveloped Toneri, and nine glowing green Truth-Seeking Orbs appeared around him.
Toneri commanded the orbs to form a shield in front of him, blocking Kinshiki's sneak attack.
"Truth-Seeking Orb Shuriken!"
One of the orbs wrapped itself in swirling green chakra at Toneri's right hand, forming a razor-sharp shuriken.
It bore a resemblance to Naruto's Rasenshuriken in both form and function.
Kinshiki raised his shadow axe like a baseball bat and smacked the spinning projectile right back at Toneri.
"Impossible?!"
Toneri's expression showed astonishment. Truth-Seeking Orbs were considered the most powerful ninja tools in the Shinobi World—nothing should be able to withstand them, much less deflect them.
Realizing his attack had failed, Toneri didn't have time to think. He quickly launched a second wave.
A chakra-imbued Truth-Seeking Orb shot at Kinshiki at incredible speed—an attack capable of piercing even the moon itself.
"Hmph, let me show you the true power of an Ability Beast's body!"
Rather than dodge, Kinshiki stood firm, calmly raised his right hand wrapped in shadow energy, and caught the projectile mid-air.
"Take it back!"
The dark energy overtook the green chakra on the orb, severing Toneri's connection to it. Kinshiki then hurled it back at him.
With the chakra link broken, Toneri could only command his remaining Truth-Seeking Orbs to intercept.
Several orbs flew in front of him to block the returning projectile.
When the corrupted orb collided with Toneri's defensive orbs, a massive explosion erupted.
The power of the orb, now enhanced with dark energy, far exceeded what Toneri's unaltered orbs could handle.
When the dust settled, Toneri emerged battered and covered in soot.
"Golden Wheel Reincarnation Explosion!"
Several Truth-Seeking Orbs combined into a massive golden chakra sword, which Toneri swung down toward Kinshiki.
"With that much power, there's no way Kinshiki can block it."
Momoshiki remarked as he looked on.
"It's fine. If need be, we'll just have Toneri replace him," Urashiki said, eyes on Kinshiki as he took the hit. "Ah, could it be you're worried about Kinshiki because he's always taken care of you?"
Despite being companions, Urashiki clearly didn't care whether Kinshiki lived or died.
"Of course not! What does his life or death have to do with me…"
Finally, the massive golden sword slashed down toward Kinshiki.
Even as he raised his shadow axe to defend and unleashed all his dark energy, he still couldn't withstand Toneri's strongest attack.
Toneri slowly landed on the moon's surface, staggering and half-kneeling, gasping for breath—he had completely exhausted his chakra with that last blow.
"Impressive. To think you could defeat Akkin," Isshiki said as he stepped forward, looking down at Toneri. It was clear "Akkin" was Kinshiki's new name. "Since you've beaten him, you'll take his place."
"What?!"
Toneri exclaimed in shock as black mist enveloped his body.
