"I'm sorry, but I don't think I can risk my heart to that extent anymore," Dallas added after a long stretch of silence. "My dad is right, I need to start thinking straight when it comes to you and Axel."
The words landed heavier than Ivan expected. Was Dallas rejecting this entirely, deciding to move on from them?
The idea of Dallas moving on suddenly felt like something he couldn't allow. If it came down to it, he would rather search for Axel day and night and ask for his opinion, just so Dallas could hear directly that Axel didn't want to lose him either.
"Is there anything else?" Dallas asked, his voice lower, almost worn down.
Ivan hesitated, then pushed forward anyway. "So when you told my sister that you have a mate..." His voice faltered, the rest of the question catching in his throat.
"I've been going to blind dates. My dad's been setting me up with different people. I asked him to.."
