Gray was bored out of his mind with nothing to do. He started bothering Nezu. Every few hours he would walk to the principal's office and ask him if Nighteye had more information for him. Nezu would just shake his head and tell him that getting any kind of info takes time.
Eight hours after he bought the last upgrade, he had enough to buy the next one.

Seeing as the sun was dipping down, Gray started flying up while still on school grounds. He flew high in the air and simply started meditating, using some of Kami's teachings to calm down. He stayed anxious because he wanted to do things his way, and he was getting frustrated with all the channels the heroes had to go through just to save a little girl.
Gray stayed in the air for hours. At 5:00 AM, he had enough gold and bought the next upgrade.

Gray flew down to his room and took a shower. After watching the news for a few hours, he decided to bother Nezu for the last time. He used the laptop and did the math. At 3:00 PM that same day, he would be able to buy the next upgrade, bringing his total passive income to 1,059 gold per hour. He simply would have to wait 10 hours after that to buy the magical compass and go get Eri himself.
He was simply going to tell Nezu what would happen in a few hours. He went to the office and knocked; he heard a loud sigh from inside and walked in.
"Before you say anything, no, I haven't heard anything from Nighteye's office yet," Nezu said.
"Yeah, I know. They're useless now," Gray replied. "I'm just here to let you know I will go get her tonight. Either you let the heroes know or not, I don't care."
"What do you mean you're getting her tonight? You're on house arrest, remember?" Nezu countered.
"Yeah, well... who's gonna stop me?" Gray left the room after saying his piece.
Seeing that Gray was done waiting around, Nezu immediately started making calls. First, he contacted Sir Nighteye's office, letting him know that trouble was heading toward his investigation. Hearing what Nezu told him, Nighteye started mobilizing his people and Police contacts right away.
However, Overhaul heard about the sudden, frantic hero movements from his own dirty contacts inside the police force. Getting irritated but remaining thankful for the early information, the underground leader of the Shie Hassaikai ordered his underlings to move everything deep underground. He then had Mimic use his quirk to completely hide the entrance, making the area look like nothing was there.
The sun was out and beating down hard on the surface, but Gray paid it no mind. He kept looking at the clock. As soon as it hit 3:00 PM, he opened his system interface and bought the last upgrade he needed to set up the compass purchase.

Gray now only had to wait 10 hours to go cause absolute havoc. While waiting in his room, he suddenly heard a soft knock on his door. Going over to open it, he had to look down toward the floor to face the principal.
"Do you mind if I come in?" Nezu asked.
Gray simply moved to the side to let the small animal step into the apartment.
After Nezu sat down, he let out another long sigh before he finally spoke. "You know that if you go out of your way and do this, I will not be able to help you a second time, right?"
Gray nodded calmly. "I know. I never needed the help anyway. I just wanted to see how much info you guys had on this group." Gray let the words linger in the air for a moment. "But after seeing how slow everything was moving... I don't wanna wait that long."
"Even if it means you make enemies out of all the heroes in Japan?" Nezu asked, locking his dark eyes onto him.
"Even if it means I make enemies out of all the heroes in the world... It will be worth it." Gray reached down, grabbed the tracker from his ankle, and simply destroyed it in his hand, letting the crushed plastic and metal pieces drop to the floor.
Nezu sighed for the last time. "I understand," he said quietly. He stood up from his seat and simply walked out of the room.
Not even five minutes after Nezu left, a few heroes stormed the school alongside a squad of local officers who were arriving to apprehend Gray due to the broken tracking signal. Apparently, the tracker had a microphone, and the hero commission could hear everything; this was the excuse they found to finally bring Gray into the fold.
Gray saw them quickly approaching the building from inside his room window. He picked up the state-of-the-art laptop, tossed it safely into his system inventory, and flew right out of the apartment building through the open window. The heroes down on the ground tried to yell warnings and orders toward him, but Gray didn't stop to listen. He simply continued flying higher and higher into the sky.
Once he broke past the thick layer of clouds, he came to a stop and hovered in place, silently admiring the quiet, peaceful view while he waited out the remaining hours before his compass was ready.
Gray had half-expected Hawks to show up again, but, surprisingly, after waiting a few more hours, nobody did. Not even helicopters or jets came to check on him. Not minding the quiet time, he continued waiting, watching how his gold kept rising by the hour.
Once it finally hit 1:00 AM, Gray opened the system's shop and bought the magical compass with Eri's location locked onto it. Seeing where the arrow pointed, Gray instantly accelerated in the air, breaking the sound barrier in a massive burst of speed.
Down below in the school, Nezu had been busy. He called in favors from different heroes and sent them Sir Nighteye's way to help out with anything they needed. The moment he heard the loud sonic boom rattle the school's windows, he knew Gray had started moving. Once again, he sighed loudly. 'What a headache,' he thought to himself, lying back on his oversized chair.
High in the air, Gray kept his eyes locked on the glowing compass needle. He passed over a few cities and prefectures in blurs. It took him less than a minute to arrive at the exact point the compass pointed to.
Looking straight down, he saw the perimeter of the Shie Hassaikai Yakuza compound. A few thugs were moving about, checking the perimeter. 'It seems they knew I was coming...' Gray thought.
Gray started floating down slowly, checking out all the surrounding places. 'If I start destroying this place, it might affect other people...I'll try to keep destruction to a minimum.'
One of the higher-ups looked up and noticed Gray high in the air. Pointing up, some of the thugs ran inside. Gray was surprised to see some of the Eight Bullets out in the courtyard looking at him. It was the ones who had fought Suneater in the anime. Rappa and Tengai, the barrier guy, weren't there. Shin, the guy with the confession quirk, and Deidoro, the one who was always drunk, were also missing. It seemed they might be underground, protecting the other place. Still, on the surface, four of the Eight Bullets were ready for trouble. Overhaul, Mimic, and Chronostasis were also missing.
Once Gray floated down, Rikiya Katsukame, the biggest member around, started speaking, "Who the fuck are you?!"
Gray ignored the question altogether, looking around. He was still around 50 feet high in the air. He looked around, trying to see if he spotted heroes, but not seeing anything, he finally addressed the people below, "Bring Overhaul up here. My business is with him."
Toya Setsuno, a member of the Eight Bullets, had a better look at Gray as his eyes widened. "No way... why is he here?" He started backing up, sweat forming on his forehead.
The remaining members of the Eight Bullets, seeing their friend acting that way, started questioning him. "What's wrong? You know this guy?"
"Yes!" Toya replied. "He was in the news a few days ago, remember? The guy who fought a bunch of heroes in the mountains... that's him!" he said as he pointed towards Gray.
Rikiya seemed to finally remember the news from a few days ago. Sensing that he wouldn't be strong enough in his normal state, he started aggressively touching several low-level thugs around him, draining them of their energy. He grew bigger and bigger with every grunt he stole stamina from, eventually ballooning to three times his usual size.
He let out a confident laugh. "So what if he fought a few heroes? He doesn't look like much!"
He planted his giant feet, jumped high into the sky, and attempted to hit Gray right out of the air with a massive fist.
Gray, seeing the giant man jumping toward him, simply narrowed his eyes. He shifted into a stance and met the incoming punch head-on with a fist of his own. This time, however, he didn't hold anything back.
BOOM!
The resulting shockwave was so violent that it set off the alarms of several cars parked down the street. But the second both fists met in mid-air, the massive member of the Eight Bullets was completely outmatched. The sheer force of Gray's punch shattered Rikiya's right arm, twisting the bones and muscles in gruesome ways. Screaming in agony, the giant was sent barreling straight back down, crashing heavily into the concrete of the courtyard.
Some of the neighbors, hearing the ruckus, started going out into the street. They saw the cars and looked towards the shady compound. What they saw made a few of them gasp. They immediately recognized the person floating in the air from the news. Some of them took out their phones and started recording the scene, while a few others immediately called the police to report what they were seeing. Another group simply went back into their homes, wanting absolutely nothing to do with what was happening.
The police, instantly receiving the emergency calls, dispatched a few patrol cars. At the same time, they contacted Sir Nighteye's office to let them know what was happening at the compound. Upon hearing the sudden news from his team, Nighteye immediately called all the heroes who were on standby. He let them know that the police had found Gray, but also that he was already directly attacking the Shie Hassaikai, ordering everyone to get to the location as soon as possible.
All Might heard all the ruckus and looked into the distance. "Gray-shonen..." he muttered. Shaking his head, All Might also took to the skies with a massive leap, racing toward the scene to prevent a total disaster.
The remaining Eight Bullets, seeing their 'strong' friend put down in a single hit, looked at each other and started backpedaling toward the building. They instantly regretted not being underground right now.
Gray, knowing he was so close to his objective, wasn't planning to let them leave. "Well, since Overhaul doesn't wanna come out... I guess I'll have to go and find him."
Gray landed on the compound. Once he set foot on the ground, the grunts started attacking him. A few of them shot weapons at him and used their Quirks. Gray simply grabbed all the projectiles mid-air and dodged everything else. Once a grunt got close enough, they would try to attack him with katanas, metal bats, and a few other melee weapons.
Gray started seeing everything around him. He was now used to fighting planet destroyers at the same time, so seeing a bunch of wannabe gangsters try to jump him was hilarious. He could see everyone pretty much standing still. Not wanting to take too much time since he knew the heroes would be there soon, he got to work.
Gray started punching and kicking people into the concrete walls. The grunts would fly out and get buried inside the walls one by one. The people with guns started firing without a care, and a few of the grunts even took some friendly fire. Gray started getting annoyed, so he sent a few Ki blasts their way. It was nothing big, just a few small ones to stop the annoying projectiles.
It took him less than two minutes to completely knock out every single grunt in the courtyard. The other three higher-ups had gone inside the building and came out with a weird vial, which they injected themselves with.
"Trigger, huh," Gray muttered.
Not giving them a chance to power up, he speed-blitzed them while they were still grunting from the substance. They never had the chance to use their enhanced abilities before their world went dark.
