Chapter 83 - The Legend Awakens

Gray scouted the inside of the building but found nothing. The compass kept pointing straight downward. He knew about the Shie Hassaikai's underground base, so he grabbed all the bodies in the way and threw them outside. Flying up around 10 meters, Gray threw a Ki blast at the ground, destroying a chunk of the floor, but he still didn't see the underground base.

He started charging another small Ki blast, but before he could throw it, he saw one of the first arriving heroes yell from the entrance, "Hey! Stop that right now! You're under arrest!"

Gray didn't even look back and threw the Ki blast. The explosion sent a bunch of dust flying. Once it cleared, Gray finally saw a tunnel and a few rooms here and there. The hero, flabbergasted that he had been ignored, tried to step up, but someone grabbed his shoulder. Turning back, he came face-to-face with Sir Nighteye.

"Stand down; we will take it from here," Nighteye told the hero. "Grab those knocked-out people and restrain them all," he said, pointing toward all the bodies around.

Nighteye scanned the surroundings and noticed that Gray had held back significantly. He had seen the videos of what he was capable of, and he had also gotten an information dossier from Nezu. Aizawa had listed everything he had seen Gray capable of in the training dimension, and in huge warning letters, it said not to piss Gray off.

Before Gray could jump down into the underground hidden base, Nighteye called out to him, "Mister Gray, before you continue with whatever you're doing, would you mind sparing me a minute?"

Gray turned his head and hesitated, but knowing the kind of person Nighteye was, he decided to hear him out. "Make sure not to take too long. I'm in a hurry"

Nighteye nodded and started getting closer. "What you're doing is commendable, but you're still unlicensed, so I cannot allow you to continue..."

"I don't care," Gray spat. "If that's what you wanna say, then leave. You will not change my mind." Gray seemed to remember how Nighteye's Quirk worked. "In fact, here, let me show you." Gray extended his hand toward Nighteye, keeping eye contact.

'Does he know how my Quirk works? Impossible, that should be a secret to everyone...' Nighteye hesitated but stepped forward and shook Gray's hand, keeping eye contact. Instantly, he activated his Quirk.

Nighteye's eyes widened instantly. "Impossible!" he said.

He had seen the future and saw what he believed to be strength out of this world. Even if they had 100 prime All Mights, they would not be able to stop this person!

Gray, seeing the reaction from Nighteye, took his hand back. "Stay out of my way," he said, before jumping down into the hole he had made.

Sirens blasted on the streets as a wave of police cars and pro heroes arrived at the Yakuza compound. They saw the unconscious bodies scattered everywhere and rushed over to Nighteye.

"Sir! What happened here?" they asked frantically.

Nighteye, still shaken by the terrifying vision he had witnessed through his Foresight quirk, forced himself to get his bearings together. "Grab all of those knocked-out people and secure them. They are criminals."

The cops immediately went to work bagging and zip-tying the thugs. The second they reached Rikiya and saw the gruesome, twisted state of his shattered right arm, they radioed for an emergency ambulance.

More heroes, news helicopters, and media vans started crowding the perimeter. Seeing the impending media circus, Nighteye immediately took control of the scene. He ordered the police to cordon off the entire street and prevent anyone else from approaching the property. Remembering the unstoppable power he had seen in his vision, he turned to the heroes and announced. "Everyone able to move, start evacuating every civilian from the perimeter. This will get ugly soon."

A few of the low-ranked heroes were too busy posing and waving in front of the flashing news cameras instead of listening to his orders. Nighteye's composure broke, and he yelled at the top of his lungs, "NOW!"

All Might smashed down onto the courtyard asphalt right after. He instantly walked over to Nighteye. They had a strained personal history together, but the Symbol of Peace pushed all of that aside for the moment.

"What happened?" All Might asked, his face dead serious.

Nighteye let out a sigh. "This is a massive headache. That person... he is way too strong."

"You used your quirk on him?" All Might questioned, his eyes narrowing.

"Yeah... and it's going to get ugly," Nighteye replied, looking up at the flashing news helicopters. "We need to evacuate all civilians and have every available unit ready on the surface." He stared down into the blasted crater, a thought crossing his mind. 'What the hell did Overhaul do to piss someone that powerful off...?'

All Might didn't hesitate. He looked at the deep opening in the floorboards and jumped straight in. "I'll leave the evacuation to you all!" he called out, his massive frame disappearing down into the dark, underground labyrinth to follow Gray. 'Gray-shonen, don't make a mistake you'll regret later...' he thought as he dashed through the passageway.

Gray kept following the compass. It still showed Eri was down some more. From the show, he kinda remembered the place had different floors, but he never let his guard down. He kept an eye out for anything out of the ordinary. The Ki blasts had made a loud noise, so he thought they at least would know something was wrong. Still, he checked every room he encountered anyway. After checking around eight different rooms and not seeing anything, he continued down the corridor. At the end of it, he saw a door. Going up to it, he opened it and finally came face-to-face with more people.

The people in the room looked surprised that someone had actually found this place. "Who the hell are you?" Rappa asked. He felt his instincts flare up as soon as Gray stepped through the door, and a smile crept onto his face instantly.

His partner, Hekiji Tengai, instantly recognized Gray. "Kendo! Be careful! He's the one who fought All Might to a standstill a few days ago!"

Gray, seeing them getting ready to fight, asked them a question. "If you guys answer this truthfully, I'll let you leave for now," he continued. "Where is Eri?"

"Haha! Who cares about that?" Kendo Rappa said. "If you can beat me up, then I'll tell you where she is!" he said as he dashed forward, throwing a barrage of punches.

"Stop it, Kendo! We need to work together if we wanna beat this guy!" Hekiji said as he readied his barriers.

"So, that's your answer?" Gray said, clenching his right fist as Rappa got closer. He threw a punch, aiming it toward one of Rappa's arms.

Hekiji tried to block the punch with a barrier, but Gray destroyed it instantly. Hekiji's eyes widened. 'That was my strongest barrier,' he thought.

A sickening crunch echoed through the room as Rappa's right arm ceased to exist under the overwhelming physical force. Gray knew what kind of villains these "people" were, if someone would even call them that. They simply stood by and watched a grown-ass man torture a little girl every day to push forward his own agenda. Just thinking about it made Gray even more upset, so he didn't hold anything back.

He stepped up to the struggling Rappa and asked again, "Ready to tell me where she is? Or do I have to take the other arm too?"

Rappa laughed and raised his left fist. "I'm not done yet!" he roared as he dashed forward again.

"So be it," Gray muttered.

Gray threw another punch, clashing fists with Rappa again, only for the exact same thing to happen. The sheer force of impact launched Rappa backward into the concrete wall. He slumped to the ground, now missing both arms and bleeding out fast.

All Might heard the commotion and dashed through the doorway. He came face-to-face with Gray. Seeing Rappa's critical condition, All Might's smile faded. "What did you do?" he asked, his voice tight.

Gray didn't even look back. "Stay out of my way, All Might."

Gray walked straight toward Hekiji. The barrier villain panicked and erected a succession of defensive walls to protect himself, but Gray simply walked forward. He shattered the energy barriers like cheap glass with his bare hands. "Are you ready to talk?"

All Might, meanwhile, dashed over to the bleeding Rappa and grabbed a small pouch from his belt. While they were inside the training dimension, Gray had given the heroes a small supply of Senzu Beans to use in case the high-intensity drills got too dangerous. All Might had kept a few on his person just in case of an emergency. He pressed a green bean against Rappa's lips.

"Here, eat this! Hurry!" All Might ordered.

Rappa chewed and swallowed it without hesitation. To the absolute shock of both All Might and Hekiji, Rappa's arms completely regenerated right before their eyes, the skin and muscle stitching back together in seconds. Gray didn't pay the miracle any mind at all; his eyes remained locked onto Hekiji, completely focused on getting answers.

Seeing the silent Hekiji, Gray pulled his arm back, but before he could throw the punch, Rappa called out from the other end of the room. "She's on the lowest floor." He got up, stretching his newly regenerated arms, and continued, "The boss said he wanted to run some more tests and grab more samples." He then pointed directly to the floor. "They should be right underneath us."

That was all Gray needed to hear. He turned on his heel and walked out of the room into the hallway. All Might looked confused, but Gray simply lifted his left leg and smashed it violently into the floor.

The sheer force made the entire facility shake.

"You fucking traitor!" a distorted voice roared from within the concrete walls.

Gray jumped straight down into the hole he had just created, completely ignoring the newcomer. He already knew who it was. 'Mimic,' he thought. The guy could merge into walls and control the structure at will, and if he had taken the Trigger drug, his area of effect would be a bit stronger, but Gray left that villain to All Might.

As Gray jumped down, the hole closed right behind him, the concrete snapping shut under Mimic's control. The moment his boots landed on the lower floor, he came face-to-face with two more Yakuza thugs wearing plague doctor masks. Before they could even register his presence or move an inch, Gray appeared behind them in a blur and delivered a brutal sidekick that smashed them both into a wall.

Not wasting a single second, he stepped back into the hallway and destroyed the floor with another heavy stomp. This sector was different. Once he landed through the rubble, he noticed the ceilings were much higher, and the architecture was far more open. He pulled out the magical compass and saw the needle pointing straight ahead toward a massive set of double doors.

Gray walked up to the doors and pushed them open. What he saw inside made him stop dead in his tracks.

"Time for a reset," Overhaul said coldly.

He reached over and touched Eri's small body, making it instantly implode into a gruesome blood mist before reassembling it back into a whole piece in the blink of an eye. Eri cried out in agonizing pain, feeling every single layer of her flesh and bone being torn apart and sewn back together by the quirk.

Gray saw everything happen. His mind completely short-circuited.

The horrific sight of what he just witnessed made something violently snap deep inside his soul. The pure, unadulterated fury of a Saiyan exploded through his veins. His eyes instantly flashed, rapidly shifting from their natural brown color to a piercing, blazing, glowing bright green.

The ambient air in the massive laboratory grew incredibly heavy, suffocatingly dense, with a terrifying golden energy that crackled wildly around his form.

Overhaul and Chronostasis, hearing the heavy double doors explode open, slowly turned around to face the entrance. They expected to see their own people coming with news, but instead, they found themselves staring directly into the eyes of an absolute monster.

Eri, barely conscious on the metal table, managed to look up and see Gray standing at the doors. She had spent her entire life waiting for a hero to finally come and save her from the monsters keeping her captive. Looking at the sudden, genuine fear washing over Chisaki's face as he stared at the newcomer, a spark of hope started to form inside her chest.

Gray felt his core grow incredibly warm as his hidden power kept spiking violently. Thanks to the sheer density of his rising energy, the underground facility and the earth above began to shake.

Up on the surface, the clear night sky violently shifted. Black storm clouds started gathering out of nowhere, and heavy thunder kept striking directly near the compound.

Sir Nighteye, seeing the sudden, unnatural shift in the weather, widened his eyes in terror. He knew exactly what this meant from his vision. "It has started!" Nighteye yelled at the top of his lungs, turning around to face the remaining units. "Everyone evacuate the perimeter right now!"
