Dydra shut the door behind her and turned to look around. Her room was exactly as she had left it before leaving the castle. Everything was neat and in its proper place, without a trace of dust. She smiled faintly, certain that Oryen had been keeping it clean in her absence.
After changing out of her rain-soaked clothes, she made sure the door was locked before crossing the room. Fortunately, no one had seen her slipping back into the castle.
With a tired sigh, she threw herself onto the familiar bed and buried herself in the soft sheets. The comforting scent and warmth of her room eased the tension in her body.
Her thoughts soon wandered to the Elite.
A small smile spread across her lips, and she kicked her legs against the mattress like an excited bunny, unable to contain the flutter of happiness in her chest.
But the smile did not last.
A troubling thought suddenly crossed her mind, and the joy on her face slowly melted away.
