Chapter 31 Northeastern plan
Follin continued and tried to explain the reasons to go into the inner city with logic. One point being the satyr's all moving into the inner city like they were preparing for something or maybe someone. The other being that it was close to exactly 3 weeks since the barrier surrounded Duran and hitting 21 days might be something important to the satyr's or whoever was leading them.
The coordinated satyr's were building some kind of statue deep in the inner city, this was also what Rohan had seen at the park where all the satyr's were gathered. The skyscraper that was broken down was used as building material. The end result would still need some more time before it could be seen.
The other shelters had tried different methods but none of them worked for either outside or inside the barrier. Shutting down any basic means of communicating. Well, Follin had actually managed to make a very basic communication device, but it used electrical cable as a transmission method and had to be used in morse code, which was not functional on the short term.
Follin continued on explaining, in a very direct way, "Tomorrow is one day of rest for you, but on the day after tomorrow we will leave for Duran's cross with everyone in the castle. This time no one will stay behind. This will be a very hard push that the other groups have also chosen for. I have not said it yet but the leader of the southwestern group is Yono, an older fellow with lots of military experience and very dominant. You should like him Britta. The leader of the castle is Charles, a not so well known noble from some family, but competent enough to lead the castle."
"Ah some interesting fact, far enough down on the family tree, some great-great-grandfather of Charles owned this castle, but he is not a rightful heir to make a chance. But it is funny how it turns out that he got leadership over it in some way."
"Back to the plan in two days, most of it has already been planned out with the help of Brady, Amanda and the other leaders and supporters. We will mainly stay together as shelter group but split up close to the inner city, the goal is to take down all the satyr's on the bridges, yes they returned, and then close in as a whole group towards Duran's Cross. Clearing out as many spots as possible. Although we will be spread thin, we have the advantage of weaponry." Follin smiled for the first time as he looked to a paper on his side.
"Yono has more than enough military power and managed to get quite a load of weapons that should help us with the number and power difference between us and the satyr's. I made a list of some items you can ask for, with limits of course. Britta will make the final decision and talk it out with Amanda."
Britta sighed as she heard more work for her.
Follin paid it no mind as he continued.
"The whole northwestern area is divided in three parts, we gain the most eastern area to sweep clean, including 4 bridges for north to south and 6 bridges east to west. Your team will stay the same, except that I need Ntombi to join me and Brady. She will be important for sending messages across the location. Brady and I will be the team to clear all the west to east bridges with the people that were stationed in the mall as guards, this makes us the biggest team as well. Irimia's team and Paul's team are rest. All of the team will take one of the North to south bridges."
"You will take the first bridge, being the most western, you will also continue down south as much as possible until you regroup with other teams. With Leslie's help, getting lost will not be a problem."
"No problem." Britta responded, Taking only one bridge sounded way better than needing to do all the west to east bridges.
"Great, Irimia will take the next bridge, then Paul and then Brady. That is all there is for now, take rest, recover and prepare yourself." He said with a heavy tone, he knew that there was a large chance that many survivors might not make it.
Even with all the technological advantages they had. The other teams had discovered the horrifying powers of magic that the satyr's and enemies had.
Follin handed Britta a list of supplies the castle had in store, some were crossed out that were already taken. But the important things were all available.
"There is a free room through the last door on the right, you can take that. Ntombi, I still need you here." Follin showed us out the door as Ntombi stayed behind. She would be crucial for the plan.
Britta walked to the spare room. It was spacious, and had some bunk beds quickly placed with some curtains in front of them, giving at least some privacy. It also housed a large table with 6 chairs. All of course deep dark blue, the table top made of stone but the rest was wood.
The bunk beds were the only non-blue things in the room, being normal wood colored with white sheets and curtains was a blessing for the eyes.
Quickly settling his stuff, Rohan sat on the chair, waiting for Britta to pass the list on to the other side of the table.
"Read first, then we choose." She said as she handed out a copy to the rest.
Rohan was weirdly excited to see what he could get, like a kid that could choose a new toy in a store. Ragnar was excited as well the moment he laid his eyes on the list.
