----------------------------------------------------------

Skipping past Raishin and Yaya's subsequent squabble, a few hours later, Emiya and his companions arrived in the city center of Liverpool.

A huge gate stood in front of them.

"'Walpurgis Royal Academy of Machinart.'"

This was the school Emiya was about to enter.

Raishin read the words on the sign.

A slightly mocking smile appeared on his face.

"The prestigious highest academy of the magic world. It looks like a fortress-no, more like a prison."

Emiya looked around.

The magnificent great hall stood before them.

At first glance, it could easily be mistaken for Buckingham Palace.

The brick wall rose a full five meters high, and the stone gate was fitted with loopholes for guns.

Those loopholes did not look like they were meant to repel invaders.

They looked like they were meant to shoot escapees.

The proof was simple.

The guards' sharp gazes were not aimed at the street, but inward, toward the campus.

Although the overall design was conservative and restrained, the pressure it gave off was undeniable.

It felt less like a school.

More like a military command center.

Emiya also remembered that under this country's laws, student-owned automatons were forbidden from leaving the city until graduation.

Raishin's comment about it being a prison wasn't wrong.

Not at all.

Emiya passed through the grand gate and stepped into the world-renowned academy.

Soon after, a tall, beautiful woman received Emiya and Raishin.

Inside a spacious office, the woman sat behind a desk, holding a document.

She had straight black hair, sharp blue eyes, and an unmistakable air of intelligence.

She wore a professor's uniform, with a pair of glasses resting against her chest.

"You must be Raishin Akabane, correct?"

Her gaze swept over both of them before settling on Raishin.

After all, Emiya didn't look like a student by age alone.

"Yes." Raishin nodded.

The professor glanced down at the file in her hands.

"The data room states that you should only have one female automaton. So what's with this man? A new automaton?"

Raishin froze.

He hurriedly explained, "You've misunderstood. This is Emiya. He's also a transfer student, just like me."

"Hey, hey, hey. That's not what I heard," the professor said, giving Emiya a once-over.

"According to my information, there should only be one transfer student this time. Raishin Akabane."

"Huh?" Raishin turned to Emiya in surprise.

"Can you explain this, Mr. Emiya?"

The professor set the documents aside and asked casually, but a trace of vigilance flashed through her eyes.

Emiya nodded.

"Of course. But before that, could I speak with you alone, Professor Kimberly? My background will definitely surprise you."

The woman paused.

The fact that he knew her name clearly caught her off guard.

She snorted and laughed.

"A background that will surprise me? That does sound interesting."

After a brief moment of thought, she turned to Raishin.

"You and your automaton can go take a look around the campus. I'll contact you later."

Raishin glanced at Emiya, nodded, and left with Yaya.

Soon, only Emiya and Kimberly remained in the large office.

"Alright," Kimberly said with a smirk. "Tell me about this background of yours."

"I'm looking forward to being surprised."

Emiya smiled.

"If I told you I'm not from this world-that I came from another world-would you believe me?"

Kimberly scoffed.

"Save that nonsense for your dreams. Is something wrong with your head?"

Emiya wasn't surprised.

If someone told him the same thing, his first reaction wouldn't be belief either.

He'd wonder if they were sane.

"In that case," Emiya said calmly, "let's see it for ourselves, Professor Kimberly."

He snapped his fingers.

In the next instant, both of them vanished from the room, as if they had never existed.

A gust of wind rushed in, flipping the documents scattered across the desk.

Time continued to pass.

An hour later, Emiya and Kimberly reappeared.

Emiya stood in the same spot as before, posture relaxed, a faint smile on his face.

Kimberly was still seated behind her desk.

But her expression had changed.

Shock lingered in her eyes, deep and unsettled.

During that single hour, Emiya had taken her to the Detective Conan world and to Orario.

He let her see a thriving alternate civilization.

A technologically advanced modern society.

And the future.

The once-glorious British Empire eventually declined.

It still held influence in that future world.

But it could no longer be called an empire.

"So our world might also reach that point," Kimberly asked quietly, "where even a glorious empire eventually falls?"

Emiya shook his head.

"I don't know. This world has Machinart and machine-dolls. Its path could be completely different. It might decline. Or it might continue to prosper and stand at the top. Any outcome is possible."

Kimberly nodded slowly.

"Forget it. That's not something I need to worry about."

She looked at him.

"Tell me your purpose for coming here."

"To learn Machinart," Emiya replied. "I want to study at this academy. You can arrange that, right?"

Kimberly nodded.

"No matter what you are, I'm still a professor of Machinart Physics here. Enrolling someone isn't difficult."

She paused.

"But are you sure? Given your age, are you really going to sit in class with a group of children?"

Emiya: ...

He hadn't considered that.

That was, in fact, a problem.

Kimberly saw his expression and immediately understood.

She sighed.

"How about this," she said. "You'll become my assistant. I'll teach you Machinart personally. If you want a machine-doll, I can help with that as well."

She deliberately stopped there.

"But in exchange..."

Emiya understood immediately.

He straightened, adopting the tone of a man with limitless resources.

"Name it. Money, power, status, magic-or do you want to become my subordinate? That one's the best option, by the way."

Kimberly shot back, "Why would that be the best option?"

"Because I take good care of my subordinates," Emiya replied matter-of-factly. "Once you work for me, money, power, status, and magic all come with it. Even eternal life isn't off the table."

Kimberly froze.

Her thoughts returned to Orario.

A world where gods and adventurers walked side by side.

Suddenly, eternal life didn't sound like an exaggeration.

Seeing her hesitation, Emiya smiled.

"So? Want to become my subordinate?"

Kimberly remained silent for a long moment.

Then she shook her head.

"I'll take care of your enrollment procedures first."

"Alright." Emiya didn't press further.

"When you change your mind," he said calmly, "tell me. I'll prepare a generous gift package for you."

Kimberly nodded in agreement.

And just like that, Emiya became Kimberly's assistant.

He officially joined the Royal Academy of Machinart.

As for Raishin, Kimberly naturally arranged an entrance exam for him.

Unfortunately, he was terrible at written tests.

He placed second to last.

Afterward, Kimberly sent him straight to the student dormitories.

"What about me?" Emiya asked. "Where do I live?"

"I'm not staying in the student dorms too, am I?"

Kimberly shook her head.

"You're not a student. Why would you live there? You'll stay in the faculty dorms."

She added, "But that requires an application. The earliest I can get it approved is tomorrow."

"And tonight?"

"You'll make do in my dorm for one night," Kimberly said calmly.

After interacting with him for a while, she was confident Emiya wasn't a pervert.

That was enough.

"Alright," Emiya agreed.

If the sofa was uncomfortable, he could always go home.

It was just one night.

Kimberly returned to her bedroom and changed clothes.

When she came back out, she looked at Emiya, who was sitting on the sofa.

"Let's go."

"Go where?"

"To eat. The cafeteria."

"Eat?" Emiya replied. "I'll take you somewhere better."

He had no expectations for academy food.

No matter how good it was, it couldn't compare to the Cooking Master Boy world.

"Where?" Kimberly asked.

"Kikkaro."

Emiya snapped his fingers.

In an instant, the two of them vanished from the world of Machinart and appeared in Kikkaro.

They entered a private room.

Emiya handed her the menu.

"Order whatever you like."

Kimberly took it and slowly looked around.

"This is Kikka-ro?"

"Yes."

"Is the food really that good?"

"You'll know when it arrives," Emiya said, deliberately keeping it vague.

Kimberly thought for a moment, then ordered several dishes.

When the food was brought in, Emiya silently put on a pair of sunglasses.

Kimberly frowned.

Why would someone wear sunglasses before eating?

Then Emiya lifted the lid.

A brilliant light burst forth, nearly blinding her.

At that moment, Kimberly finally understood.
