Chapter 291 - Chapter 3: The Idea No One Had Tried

Kimberly had never seen food glow before.

She stared at the dish, trying to understand it. Fluorescent powder was impossible. This was normal human food.

That left only one explanation.

Magic.

If it was magic, then it made sense.

This had to be legendary magical cuisine.

When she tasted it, her suspicion only deepened. The flavor was too good.

There had to be magic in it.

"So... are we still in Orario?" she wondered. In her mind, only a miraculous world where gods lived among humans could produce food like this.

"No. We're in another world," Emiya said.

Kimberly reacted immediately.

"A world we haven't been to yet?"

"Yes." Emiya nodded.

Her curiosity grew.

"How many worlds have you been to?"

"A dozen or so for now," Emiya replied. "I haven't been traveling that long. In a few years, it'll be a lot more."

They talked as they ate.

Dinner lasted a full hour.

Afterward, Emiya brought Kimberly back to her dorm in the Machinart world.

She went to get ready for bed.

Emiya sat on the sofa, took out his phone, logged into the chat group, and sent a message.

"Everyone, I've arrived in a new world."

The previously quiet chat instantly came alive.

Loki replied first. "Oh? What kind of world?"

"A very interesting one," Emiya answered.

Hephaestus followed up. "Be specific. What's interesting about it?"

"Wait a moment. I'll upload some information."

Emiya sent everything he had stored about the Machinart world.

Not just Machine-Doll content.

He had downloaded plenty of manga and anime information in advance, specifically so he could share it when needed.

Loki finished reading quickly.

"I see. Machinart. That really is interesting."

Hephaestus nodded. "It really is. It feels like a perfect fit for my Familia. I want a factory for building machine-dolls."

Loki was blunt. "I want one too. And give me two artisans while you're at it. Shouko Karyuusai would be perfect."

Hephaestus rarely disagreed with Loki.

"Shouko Karyuusai should join my Familia. Mine is more suitable for her."

Loki admitted that point.

But giving up wasn't happening.

"Looks like we'll have to compete fairly, Hephaestus."

"I'm ready whenever you are."

Emiya rolled his eyes.

"I think you're both daydreaming."

Loki froze. "What do you mean?"

Hephaestus had a bad feeling. "You're not planning to-"

Emiya sent a few smug emojis.

"That's right. Early bird gets the worm. I'm taking Shouko Karyuusai for myself."

At that moment, Kimberly returned and stood behind him.

She looked at the phone.

"What's that?"

"A phone. I use it to communicate with companions in other worlds."

Kimberly stiffened.

Cross-world communication.

That alone was unbelievable.

But as she read the chat, her expression turned subtle.

"Who's Loki?" she asked.

Then she paused.

"...From the myths?"

"Loki. Goddess of Mischief. Not the Norse one, but Orario's. Still a goddess," Emiya said plainly.

"And Hephaestus?"

"Orario's blacksmith goddess."

Kimberly looked at him carefully.

"You're not a god too, are you?"

Only a god could speak to other gods so casually.

Emiya shook his head.

"You're overthinking it. I'm human. I just get along with them."

Kimberly nodded, thoughtful.

"That's already impressive. Oh. Loki replied."

Emiya glanced down.

"Emiya, you're part of my Familia and you're stealing talent from your own chief goddess. Do you even have a conscience?"

Emiya laughed.

"Not only does it not hurt, it's hilarious."

Kimberly whispered, "You really value Shouko."

"Anyone who can create the Setsugetsuka series is valuable," Emiya said calmly. "She's exceptional."

Kimberly couldn't argue with that.

The world-famous Karyuusai deserved the praise.

Another name appeared in the chat.

Rin Tohsaka. "I finished reading the Machine-Doll info. It feels similar to Einzbern homunculus technology."

Loki considered it.

"...You're right. There are similarities."

Kimberly hesitated, then asked softly, "Mr. Emiya... what's homunculus technology?"

"The Einzbern are a mage family from the Fate world," Emiya explained. "They specialize in homunculi. In some ways, it's very similar to machine-dolls."

Kimberly felt a spark ignite.

Technology like that could revolutionize Machinart.

After a short pause, she spoke. "Mr. Emiya, I'd like to trade Machinart technology for homunculus technology. Is that possible?"

Emiya considered it.

"I'll ask."

He messaged Illya.

"Someone wants to trade Machinart tech for your family's homunculus tech. Thoughts?"

Illya replied quickly.

"I'm fine with it. I'm not that interested in homunculus technology anyway."

Emiya turned back.

"They agreed."

Kimberly nodded. "I'll prepare the data as soon as possible."

Emiya acknowledged it, then sent another message.

"Medea. Once you get the Machinart tech, can you help me build a Gundam?"

Professor Agasa, who rarely spoke, immediately responded.

"Boss! You want a Gundam? Call me. I can help."

Emiya was skeptical.

"I'm planning to use Machinart technology. Can you really do it?"

"I'll need to study it first," Agasa replied. "But it should be doable. And if not, there's Nagato-sama. She definitely can."

Agasa's respect for Nagato was absolute.

He'd never seen an alien with that level of knowledge.

Haruhi Suzumiya jumped in.

"You're building a Gundam? I want to pilot one too."

"No problem," Emiya said. "Once it's done, we'll ride it together."

"It's a promise."

"It's a promise."

Medea finally spoke.

"...What's a Gundam?"

Emiya fell silent.

Only then did he remember she was an ancient Heroic Spirit.

Modern knowledge didn't include Gundam.

So he uploaded the information.

Hephaestus finished first.

"So it's a weapon. Just very large."

"That's one way to put it," Emiya said. "But piloting one is a man's romance."

Hephaestus laughed.

"Interesting. I'll try building one myself with our current technology."

Emiya grinned.

"A blacksmith goddess building a Gundam? I'm looking forward to it. What kind will it be?"

"You'll see."

Medea finished reading as well.

"A Gundam... I already have some ideas."

Seeing everyone interested, Emiya sent one last message.

"In a few days, I'll send the Machinart data. Use it however you like. Good luck, Medea, Hephaestus, Professor Agasa."

Kimberly smiled quietly.

"A Gundam really is interesting. If it's based on Machinart, it should be possible."

Emiya had no doubts.

Machinart could create dragons.

A Gundam wasn't impossible.

No one had thought of it before.

Sometimes, all it took was an idea.

And ideas mattered more than people liked to admit.
