Chapter 9 - I can't think anything.

He was a hero, she was a queen.

She liked work.

He liked helping others.

She lived in a castle.

He lived next door.

They were both kids. She helped her grandma, he helped the two of them. He believed he was doing good, she believed he was annoying, but she did not hate him.

Times gone, they fought, won, then fell apart. She was not sad because her mom and dad died, she was sad because she could not cry for them herself. The hero has a big heart, so he cried for her too. Weeks passed, they grew distant. The hero became a vigilante and the queen a highschool student. He slept in breaks, she talked to friends. She walked to cafeteria, he already had prepared her menu. She was disgusted, her friends were stunned. He was confused, then hurt.

She walked her path, he walked in her shadow. She sat down, he sat behind her. He held his feelings before him, she exchanged them for youth.

She got home faster, he followed her until his own home. He sat in bed, clinging to his legs. She sat in the bathroom, wishing her light to fade. He was sad. She was angry. He wished to punish himself, she wished to be punished. He started to work for her. She gave up on trying. She wore long sleeves in summer, he wore t-shirt. He looked better and better, she looked worse and worse. He made friends, she lost them. He started to shine, she started to get blind. He opened his eyes, she closed her arms. He still had feelings for her, she did not believe she was enough anymore. She gave up.

Her hands trembled. Her grandma could no longer keep her on track anymore, she was too busy. The queen punished her body for the personality she build up, even if it was not at fault. She lost sight of the world.

The light of the hero demolished, burned out. 'a star is supposed to burn, so it should burn until it's last moment', but he was not a star or the sun, he was Mercury. A planet in the reach of the sun, but never enough to grab it's light and shine as bright. But his world already fell into an eternal night.

The loneliness without light, it pushed him down, until he embraced the darkness the sun gave him, so his ideal of protecting the queen from the shadows changed, they took a new form.

The queen did not mind him at first. She knew that he was always behind her, that is why she began to steal the light from her future, to blind him, enough to slip away with her illusions.

It did not take long before it was clear for anyone else, they were no longer 'normal'. The boy began to take secret pictures when he thought she did not see him, but she did, and allowed them, because they did not mean anything to her anymore.

Their classmates, their friends, even the teacher did nothing. No one was there for them anymore, that is why they jumped off the sanity bridge.

The hero with nothing holding him back, he did the unthinkable. He broke in her house. The sound of her shower sent shivers down his spine. He touched the glass, he stuck his face to it, to see her.

The water stopped and he did not back up. Because of his face stuck to the glass, he fell straight to the floor under her feet. First thing he felt was relieve, then panic, then excitement. He saw her feet, then her knees. Not long after, he noticed her hands, one still on the door and one next to her body. He felt shock. Not because he realized what situation he was in, but because of the scars on her hands. Some were still bleeding and her face could not be more exhausted. The hero felt true fear, the fear of losing the only person who still shined for him.

He panicked, she did not react. She let him shake her, but she did not budge. She only replied to him in a few simple words: "I can't think of anything anymore. My world is empty". Those words broke the boy. He fell to his knees and begged her. Not to be happy again, but to not leave him. She did not reply, so he tried threatening her with his own life. That got her to react how he wanted. She did not lose everything, just her shine, if he could bluff with his own life, he might convince her, but it was too late. The anti thief alarm has gone off and in barged two big guys wearing anti bullet vests. They forced the boy to the floor, not listening to the girls words at all. She begged them, she threatened them, they put her to the floor too. They both got handcuffed and brought to a room, the room where her grandma was.

The grandma told the guys to uncuff her. She tried to explain, but her grandma called him a thief who manipulated her. The queen did not like that, so she used her own body and a scissors she found on a small table. If the boy would not be freed, she would use her own body to shield him.

The grandma did not like that. She told the guys to stop her. In the end, the boy ended up facing charges for breaking in, manipulation and stalking. She ended up alone and in for a therapist.

The therapist was not on their side, he was an adult so he did not understand it. He made her believe she really was manipulated by him. She started to believe that.

The boy saw her on the halls again, but did not ever dared to look at him. The girl was angered by the sight of him.

The hero's life has gone downhill completely. His family had to move, he got disowned, he had to work two jobs to keep himself alive. She still believed the words that therapist told her.

He worked, cleaned his image, but he never felt happy again. He got an office job, just a small business where no one knew the face of the boss. He made friends. He did not smile, but he felt at ease there.

One day, the boss unexpectedly came. It was her, the queen. The hero recognized her in an instant, she did not even notice him. He worked until the next payday. He planned to quit, but he had to meet with the boss to do so. Luckily for him, she did not realize who it was in front of her until too late. Her hatred grew once again, thus she made sure he could no longer get a decent job. He made his life miserable. She paid the homeless people to beat him, she made him lose his house.

He moved, and she followed, even to another country.

He got sick of her, she got to see him. They argued. He let out all of his feelings, she let out all her anger. None said they were wrong, just arguing with the stubbornness of an adult. They came to hate each other, but they did not want to waste time on one another, thus they moved on, each with their life.

They grew competitively. Both had big names by then. The queen had big online influence, the hero build support and trust. Their workers confused the two's competitiveness for passion, but that passion they saw was long death, from their teenage years.

It took a long time before they accepted each other again. Not as friends or lovers, but as rivals. The queen got a family, the hero stayed alone.

As a big company, the woman got targeted. With despair, she fell. The push from the seventh floor was a merciless end.

In front of her grave, he finally confessed. He sherd tears, feeding the flowers nearby. 'if only I could go back. I would change everything.'

The universe was cruel, but not deaf. He developed it, a time machine. He took inspiration form a show he saw and gone back, back when everything started going for the worse, when he tried to appeal for her.

The hero, now a young boy again changed his approach methods. Instead of taking to her at school, they talked online. Just because of that, her fate changed. They lived happily.

They turned the companies they once used to have into something new. But their happiness was short lived.

She gave birth to twins, but because of that, she was weakened. She collapsed on the way to the bathroom. She was safe and the twins taken care of, but because of what the hero heard, he struggled to keep himself calm at work. He lost his momentum and did some harsh things. He forgot about the kindness he felt at work before, thus, he made enemies.

Eventually he got back on his own, but those enemies did not forget him and so, his little boys were stolen, turned into girls and sent back to him.

His rage only grew when he heard his wife must have surgery because of the stress. His world started to fade again. All he wanted was stability, but now, it was all falling again.

Somehow, he managed through, but not without regrets. His twins were now girls, his wife now went to the hospital a few times a month and his work started to get stressful. But he felt a happiness he could have not before. The rage, he did not let go of it, instead he used it to grow more, to make sure his family will forever be safe, even if others had to lose theirs.
