"A mermaid tears?"
Victoria frowned slightly as she repeated the words. It wasn't the first time she had heard of mermaid tears.
Thanks to the immense thirst for knowledge that the fae possessed, the library within their forest was filled with all sorts of records. It ranged from humans to creatures that most would dismiss as nothing more than fairy tales. Among them, mermaids were written as one of the rarest beings in existence, so rare that only a handful of fae had ever truly seen one with their own eyes.
The reason for their rarity was perhaps because of their nature.
It was said that their flesh could lengthen one's life, granting something close to immortality, while even a single drop of their blood, or their tears, could cure any illness the world could offer. Because of that, they were once worshiped.
Until, eventually they all perished.
