~Serah's POV~
I could not let it rest, the rogue's words kept echoing in my head as I walked through the lower courtyard where the servants worked. Maids carried baskets of fresh linens, rogues sharpened their weapons and cleaned armor in the open yard, while everyone moved with the steady rhythm of daily tasks. Leo stood among them, laughing at something one of the maids said while he helped stack crates.
I marched straight up to him and grabbed his arm hard. "Why did you lie?"
He turned, his eyes wide and the laughter died on his lips. "My queen… I do not know what you are talking about."
Then the others stopped working instantly as the maids also set down their baskets. Rogues lowered their tools, and everyone stared at us in surprise.
I pulled him closer. "You told me Lydia asked you to get close to me and said she wanted it to look like an affair. Now you stand here pretending you never spoke those words?"
