New York City – Parker Tower

The Tesseract's gamma signatures danced like blue fire across the holo-table.

Peter stood in the center of his lab, hands behind his back, gaze locked on the shifting light. Gwen sat cross-legged atop one of the holographic projectors, chin in her palm.

"Cosmic cube, unstable quantum harmonics, interdimensional interference." She muttered. "How many ways can this go wrong?"

Peter's eyes flickered toward her. "At least six we can't control."

Before Gwen could reply, a familiar voice filled the room.

"Mr. Parker, Ms. Stacy."

Agent Coulson appeared, impeccably dressed and smiling with practiced calm.

"Director Fury requests your consultation on a matter of global importance."

Gwen grinned faintly. "Let me guess. Big blue cube, vanishing scientists and one rogue Norse deity?"

Coulson's lips twitched. "You've been keeping up."

Peter sighed. "We don't have a choice, do we?"

"No." Coulson said smoothly. "You really don't."

Calcutta, India

A rusted bell clanged softly in the humid air as Bruce Banner washed his hands in a basin of rainwater.

Behind him, Natasha Romanoff stepped into the dim room, posture calm but eyes alert.

Banner didn't turn. "You here to kill me, Agent Romanoff?"

"I'm here to bring you in." She replied. "The world needs a specialist."

He looked up, the faintest edge of a smile in his reflection.

"You've got plenty of specialists."

She took a careful breath. "Not like you."

Washington, D.C.

Steve Rogers woke with a jolt again — the same dream, the same dance he never finished.

His punching bag flew across the gym, chain snapping as it hit the wall.

The door creaked open, and Fury's voice filled the empty space.

"You should come with us, Cap. There's something you might want to see."

He handed over a thick manila folder. Inside was the picture of the Tesseract. And a world out of balance.

" Should've left it at the bottom of the ocean." Muttered Rogers.

Tony Stark's Malibu Mansion

AC/DC blared through the speakers as Tony worked on his latest clean-energy Iron Man suit design.

"Sir," JARVIS interrupted, "Agent Coulson is calling."

Tony groaned. "Tell him I'm—"

"—right here." Coulson said, stepping through the door.

Tony blinked. "How did you even get in here?"

Coulson simply raised his S.H.I.E.L.D. badge. "We're good at what we do."

He handed Tony a tablet. "We're assembling a team."

"Team?" Tony quirked a brow. "Sounds like work."

Coulson smiled. "And yet you'll do it anyway."

S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier – Somewhere in the Pacific

Hours later, a convoy of transports and quinjets converged on the sea.

The Helicarrier loomed ahead, a steel behemoth shimmering with life.

Peter and Gwen stepped out of their escort craft alongside Fury, gazing up at the massive aircraft carrier.

"Still think flying cities are a good idea?" Gwen muttered.

"Only when I build them." Peter replied.

They walked aboard. Technicians scurried, agents barked orders and a soft hum filled the air as turbines prepared to ignite.

Steve stood at the edge of the runway, taking in the impossible sight. "This is S.H.I.E.L.D.?"

Fury smiled thinly. "This is the next step."

Moments later, the deck trembled.

Huge metal fins extended outward, turbines roared to life, and the Helicarrier lifted from the sea, breaking through the clouds as sunlight caught its hull.

Gwen whistled low. "Okay… that's actually impressive."

Command Deck

The core team gathered before the main holotable as Fury gave the briefing.

"The Tesseract has been stolen by Loki, an Asgardian exile. He's opened a portal once before and he'll do it again. But next time, he'll bring an army."

Tony leaned back in his seat, examining Loki's hologram. "Alien prince with daddy issues. Got it."

Steve frowned. "He's not a prince. He's a war criminal."

Peter raised an eyebrow. "Can we agree that he's both?"

Laughter broke the tension for a moment. The team's first, uneasy bond.

Across the deck, a S.H.I.E.L.D. tech secretly minimized his sensor window, revealing a retro Galaga game on the corner of the screen.

Tony spotted it instantly. "That guy's playing Galaga. Thought we wouldn't notice. We did."

The tech froze. Gwen smirked. "This team's doomed."

Observation Deck

Later, Steve stood beside Fury, watching the clouds drift beneath them.

"I'll bet you ten bucks this isn't just about Loki." He said quietly.

Fury didn't flinch. "You're a betting man now, Captain?"

Steve smirked faintly, pulling a crumpled ten from his pocket. "Told Stark I'd catch up on the modern world."

Fury took the bill, tucking it into his coat. "You're fitting in just fine."

Behind them, Gwen leaned on Peter's shoulder, whispering, "It's strange, isn't it? A god threatens Earth, and we're making jokes."

Peter's gaze followed the endless blue horizon.

"That's how humans survive gods, Gwen. By being human."

She smiled softly. "And by being together."
