Chapter 103 - Plans to Open a Clinic

"Miss Hyacine, did you say you wanted to open a... clinic?"

Early in the morning, Hyacine had gotten up and discussed the matter with Song Lin.

"That's right," Hyacine nodded with a smile. "As you know, my primary profession is a doctor. Hearing that your people can't get treatment because of Genesis Tech's exorbitant medical fees, I decided to open a clinic to help those who can't afford them."

Logically, given Genesis Tech's high prices, many people would surely flock to her for treatment. This would allow her to earn Stellar Jade rapidly.

Song Lin was overjoyed upon hearing this, as he had personally witnessed the sheer power of Hyacine's healing abilities. Back then, over a dozen heavily injured members had been fully restored in less than ten seconds. Aside from the dirt and tears in their clothes, one couldn't even tell they had been wounded.

As for Genesis Tech? They had already killed their people (technically, Little Ica had flattened them), so why fear them now?

"Great!" Song Lin slapped his thigh and stood up. "Our gang has a shopfront in a fairly busy district of the City of Chaos. I'll transfer that shop to you immediately. Just let me know whatever you need for the setup!"

"Then I thank you, Leader Song."

Seeing how decisive Song Lin was, Hyacine gave a slight bow in gratitude.

"Oh, right." Song Lin suddenly seemed to remember something. He rubbed his hands together and smiled at Hyacine. "Um, Miss Hyacine, once your clinic is ready, could you grant me one request?"

"What request?" Hyacine tilted her head.

"Well, when members of our gang go to you for treatment, could we get a discount?"

"No!" Hyacine flatly refused.

Song Lin frowned, wanting to push further. But before he could speak, Hyacine spoke again.

"Because if you all come for treatment, I'll be treating you for free. Since it's free, why would you need a discount?"

"Thank you, Sister Hyacine! I'll send my men to handle the shop right away."

Hearing the second half of her sentence, Song Lin's frown instantly vanished, replaced by a wide grin. He turned and walked out of the room immediately to arrange the details.

Once Song Lin left, Hyacine was about to look at her terminal for news when a knock sounded at the door.

"Come in," she said, looking toward the entrance.

The door opened to reveal Hong Guoguo. This time, she wasn't wearing her hood, but she still had jet-black hair. Even the silver-white lock that Hyacine had accidentally exposed earlier had been changed back.

"Miss Hyacine... are you really going to give their whole gang free treatment?"

"Oh? You heard us from outside?"

Guoguo nodded. Hyacine was a bit surprised; she remembered this room was supposed to be soundproof. Having a keen sense of smell was one thing, but was her hearing that powerful too? Was she an Ability User with enhanced senses?

She decided to ask later and answered the question first. "You heard correctly. I do plan on providing free treatment for their people."

"But their gang has so many members. If everyone comes to you for free, won't you be overwhelmed?" Guoguo asked softly.

"I won't," Hyacine shook her head slightly. "I'm very capable. This many people won't be enough to overwhelm me."

"Alright... just take care of yourself. Don't ruin your own health trying to treat others..."

"Mhm~"

Seeing how confident Hyacine was, Guoguo didn't know what else to say. She offered her concern and then turned to leave the room.

"Wait."

Hyacine called her back. Guoguo stopped and turned at the doorway, asking curiously, "Is something wrong?"

"I wanted to ask, what is your superpower?"

"Oh, you mean that?" Hearing the question, Guoguo replied without hesitation, "Enhanced senses, of course."

"I see. No wonder you could pick up my scent and hear us through a soundproof room. That's impressive."

"Hehe, right? I'm actually pretty capable!" Guoguo put her hands on her hips proudly. Then she asked, "Is there anything else?"

"Nothing. Go get some rest. I need to prepare for the clinic."

"Okay, I'm off then!" With a reply, Guoguo ran out of the room and vanished in an instant.

However, she didn't realize that as she left, a golden thread detached from her body and floated in the air.

Looking at the floating golden thread, Hyacine wasn't surprised. She simply reached out and closed the door.

A flash of purple light followed, and a cat-girl appeared out of thin air in the middle of the room. The golden thread that had been floating was now held in her hand.

This cat-girl was none other than Cipher, who was supposed to be in the Pit Bottom District.

"Hmm, it seems she lied. Enhanced senses isn't her ability. And looking at her, she doesn't seem to have undergone gene modification. So why are her smell and hearing so sharp?"

Cipher murmured to herself while feeling the information transmitted through the golden thread. As for why Cipher was here, that story goes back half an hour.

"Why won't you let me go out and do commissions with you!"

Cipher stood before Ember Squad with her arms crossed, looking quite pouted. "I did them perfectly!"

She pointed to the large group of gang members lying unconscious nearby.

"Sister Cipher, you're just too strong..." Lin Wei spoke with a hint of helplessness. "We had just arrived at the commission site, and in the blink of an eye, all the gangsters we were supposed to defeat were on the floor. We can't get the proper training Sister Zhaoran mentioned this way."

"Yeah, yeah!" Luo Lin ran over and grabbed Cipher's arm, looking into her eyes with teary, puppy-dog eyes. "Sister Zhaoran sent a message saying we should handle high-difficulty commissions ourselves to train. She even left us each a Spatial Teleportation Necklace for emergencies; we'll be fine. Sister Cipher, just let us do it on our own..."

Listening to the two of them and seeing Luo Lin's shameless cuteness, Cipher finally sighed and waved them off. "Fine, I won't interfere. Just stay safe."

"Thank you, Sister Cipher!" Luo Lin cheered excitedly, grabbed her weapon, and rushed toward the next site, leaving Cipher alone.

"Sigh, I just used Godspeed to finish the targets quickly. Was that really necessary?"

Cipher leaned against a wall, feeling a bit depressed. She was bored; she was tired of her terminal, and she didn't feel like "stealing" the base for the moment. So, what should she do now?

After thinking for a moment, she made a decision and called out into the air, "Bartholos."
