Seven years ago.
"I just don't get it. Why bawl your eyes out over something so trivial?" I scolded Yeonwoo, who was huddled in his room, clutching the leash of his dead dog, his eyes dry and heavy with tears.
This was the most pathetic version of him I'd ever seen, and it was upsetting.
"He's grieving. Can't you be sympathetic?" Dabeum nudged my shoulder as he moved to the bed, smoothing out Yeonwoo's disheveled hair.
I scoffed, half-seated on the table. "It's just a dog. It's not like that's the last breed or anything." I added with obvious irritation. "Get another and wipe your snot."
Yeonwoo sobbed even louder, accepting the tissue box Dabeum passed him. He'd already emptied a ton with his childish behavior. "Snow wasn't just a dog to me. She was a friend. A companion. There's no way some other dog would compare."
