Noah stared at the man standing at the front of the lecture hall, his mind racing with a mixture of disbelief and genuine surprise.
He felt a sharp nudge against his elbow and turned to see Sarah watching him with a knowing, mischievous glint in her eyes. She had clearly anticipated this reaction.
"I know exactly why you are looking like that," Sarah whispered, leaning in close so her voice wouldn't carry across the quiet room.
"I completely forgot to warn you about him before we walked in. When I first saw him standing there last week, I was absolutely shocked too. You remember how badly I spoke to him back then after that near-miss with his car? I was terrified that he would take offense or remember my face and fail me on the spot, but he is surprisingly forgiving."
