Adam stood by the car door, his hand resting on the handle as if he were physically pained by the necessity of leaving.
He had already turned to enter the vehicle when a sudden, sharp thought made him pivot back toward Sarah.
His expression, which had briefly softened for Noah, returned to a state of high-alert authority. He looked at Sarah with a gaze so intense it made the young girl instinctively straighten her posture.
"There is one more thing," Adam said, his voice carrying clearly across the pavement.
"Do not let any Revenant people touch him for any reason whatsoever. I am referring to the Alphas and the Betas specifically. That includes your lecturers and even the professors."
